+ -1 moreHome Depot will ban customers and put customer Private information on a nationwide banned shopper database that will block further returns of current or future purchased products. So shop at Lowes or shop directly from the vendor providing Home Depot with the product. At least Lowes tracks both purchases and returns so they don't banish good customers.
Description of Work: This entry applies to ALL Home Depot stores and Corporate, and not the fault of your local Home Depot Staff/Store/Management. In summary, if you make a large return or numerous returns then regardless of your net purchases or future orders the store is aware you are ready to make, you are banned by Home Depot Corporate from making returns for 90 days, anything you bought is never allowed to be returned. You are basically in a nation wide wanted poster database. Read the www.ripoffreport.com/r/The-Home-Depot/Las-Vegas-Nevada-991518 link, this is happening nation wide and happened to me in Frederick Maryland and many others nation wide. Home Depot takes your drivers license information during a return using a receipt, if your return is over some amount then you are banned from making any returns for 90 days nation wide, and your private information is plastered in a national wide database as though you are a criminal or do not fly list. Home Depot staff and management is just as frustrated as I am, they are aware how much I buy, that I was just in the starting phases of renovating two homes. To compound the problem, I had management's permission the night before to purchase several different backsplashes with full consent that 99% of them would be returned the next day. The store says it is done all the time, what they didn't know is Home Depot uses The Retail Equation to analyze returns and will reject customers that are statistically unworthy. Basically the TRE system tracks returns but NOT purchases. So basically Home Depot is forcing persons spending 150K in renovations to go to Lowes because in the beginning of the project they made a large return. To protect yourself from being a wanted person in a nation wide database, do NOT shop at Home Depot or ANY vendor that uses The Retail Equation system - you have NO control of this happening to you. So again, honest and moral people get caught doing nothing wrong. So now I have to travel 30 miles to the vendor's manufacture site to get 7000.00 dollars worth of tile because I returned several hundred worth of tile - well worth skipping HD.

+ 0 moreThey were actually able to give us the window we wanted unlike another company. It was considered a cottage window. They were able to match the original sides. My faith in their window department was restored. They did an excellent job. The guy that came to do the estimate walked us through the steps on what to expect. The installers were meticulous and very careful because it is an older house. They were great. The guy that did the estimate really listened to what we wanted and he provided it. He was attentive and knowledgeable about his product. I was very happy. It is a 1943 cottage. The windows have been very good and I will go back to them for my other windows. They showed up on time. All their people were on time and very professional.
Description of Work: I used Home Depot to do a bay window. It was 3 pieces so it wasn't a traditional bay window.

+ -1 moreThis patterned carpet aligned beautifully, between rooms, closets and hallways. I am very happy with my carpet choice and very happy with Home Depot. I paid Home Depot to move my furniture - 6 pieces per room. Beds were put back together, and the furniture was placed where it was prior to the install. I had to remove all clothes, books and stuff prior to installers showing up, I temporarily stowed alot of my closet items in my bathtub of the nearest shower.The only "issue" I had was the gentleman who drew up my floor plans, incorrectly indicated that I had an elevator in my house, this had to be corrected by the floorplan/estimators and then a new plan emailed to me.
Description of Work: I had the Martha Stewart carpet (Lindenwald I) installed in 3 bedrooms, 3 closets and a connecting hallway. 2 installers showed up and it took them almost the entire day to install.

+ -1 moreThe workers were supposed to arrive somewhere between 8 a.m and 10 a.m. Since I hadn't seen them, I called and asked if they were going to show up or not. I was told that they hadn't finished a job they started the day before and had to finish it first. They rescheduled the window replacement for the following week for the same time. On that following week, they didn't show up until 2 p.m., but did start to work immediately. They stayed until the job was finished -- 8 p.m. The next morning I looked around outside and found a few nails and screws they left on the ground, but overall, they did a good job of cleaning up after they finished. I examined the window and found that one of the side windows had either a scratch or small crack in it on one of the panes of glass. I called the office and they sent the job manager out to check it. He reordered a new window and it arrived within two weeks. The workers were very polite and did a very nice job. When I have more windows replaced, I will more than likely have them do the job.
Description of Work: We had a bay window that needed to be replaced because air got between the two panes of glass.
