Got a test of my 9-inch tile for asbestos. Steve Baker quickly got a sample of tile and adhesive and, though he took longer than I expected to get me the result, it was very straightforward and matter-of-fact.

Hired Stephen Baker to take a sample of some suspected Vinyl Asbestos Tile in our basement. Mr. Baker arrived a little late, but stayed in contact with me via phone to keep me apprised of his arrival time. It didn't take long for him to take the sample and he sent us the report back as soon as he got it from the lab that performed the testing. We had a couple issues with the report: The first copy that we received had the wrong address, but was near our house. No big deal, figured he probably just got our address mixed up with the next job. He resent the report with another address that wasn't even close to our address. Eventually he did get us a report with the correct address, but with all the mixups, we certainly felt unsure that we had received the report from our sample. Spoke with Stephen again via the phone and he explained that the report was correct and that it indicated the color of the tile sample and color of the mastic which matched the sample that he took at our house. Overall, I was happy with Stephen's work, despite the mixups.

I hired Mr. Stephen Baker for my pre-dry wall meeting with the builder. Mr. Baker performed an excellent inspection on my new townhome.

The home inspection in Upper Marlboro, MD was thorough and below the cost of competitors. A veterans discount was even given. The items noted on the report facilitated a negotiation of the asking price of the home to be reduced to $10,000 below the appraised value of the home, and in addition, the seller agreed to pay all of the closing costs. I would use the services again and recommend to others.

Very professional, very thorough and friendly. He took his time and didn't seem rushed. He allowed my husband to follow him around and explained everything and provided the opportunity to view any problems himself. He provided the report first thing the next morning. Also, as for price he was over $100 less than 2 other inspectors I had estimates from. Best part was that he takes pictures of everything and included them in his report, since this home inspection was for a home purchase this will be helpful in negotiations. Would highly recommend

Very professional and timely service

The company was very timely and responsive to my questions and concerns.

I am very dissatisfied with this company. Over the phone, Mr. Stephen Baker quoted me $150 for the first mold test and $95 for the second. However, after he took the first test he presented me with a bill for $250. Further, Mr. Baker guaranteed that I would have the results by Wednesday of that week. I have yet to receive them. I have called and left messages with no return or follow-up from Mr. Baker. As a result of his actions, I was not able to meet my scheduled appointment on Saturday with the Mold Remediation company. I am reporting the company to the BBB and MHIC.

Mr. Baker was already on site when we arrived. He was thorough with his home inspection and finished within the estimated time frame. He provided suggestions to make the home more energy efficient and an overall better home for us. Many of the issues found were maintenance related, and he informed us of the location of the water valves and which valve to shut off to prevent bursting pipes. Overall, I was very pleased with Mr. Baker's promptness in responding to my home inspection request and hit swift, thorough work during the entire process. I would definitely recommend his services.
