Our family home has always been clean and functional but after thirty years it had become more a picture postcard from the 1980’s than the warm inviting image we had in our mind. It was obviously time to update. Unfortunately, after talking with numerous contractors, it seemed we would have to reduce our expectations or spend more than we had budgeted to afford remodeling our “dining room, living room, kitchen” (and eventually bathrooms too!) project. While pondering our next move a family friend told us they recently had Rohan remodel their kitchen/living space and it looked great and was, they thought, affordable. After seeing for ourselves the quality of workmanship, the improvements to ‘flow and functionality’ and the overall aesthetic appeal, we decided to give Rohan a call. Boy are we glad we did! Upon meeting Rohan for the first time we were shown the same optimism, knowledge through experience, flexibility of thought and dedication to quality that would continue straight through to the end of our multi-week project. His proposal/estimate covered all our wants and needs while fitting within our budget. The job was a total re-do and from floors to walls to counters to cabinets to plumbing to electrics and all were handled by Rohan and his team with time honed skill. The work was done in a timely fashion without ever leaving us wondering where people were or what they were going to be doing each step of the way. Every eventual ‘architectural surprise’ was met with candor, budgeted creativity and a hearty “no problem!” In the end our home was transformed ergonomically, aesthetically and affordably into a beautiful space where family and friends gather in happiness and in harmony with their surroundings. I recently had my basement remodeled, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results. From start to finish, the entire process was smooth and professional. Rohan with R O Hutchinson took the time to understand my vision and worked closely with me to incorporate my ideas while offering expert suggestions. The remodeling work was done on time and within budget, with the rohan and his team paying great attention to detail. They transformed the space into a beautiful, functional area that me and my family can now use as a game room, a bar and pool table area, and a rec room to entertain my large gatherings. The finished product exceeded my expectations. The team handled all the aspects of the project, from framing and drywall to electrical and plumbing, and everything was top-notch. They kept the space clean and ensured that there was minimal disruption to the rest of the house. Communication was excellent, with Rohan keeping me updated on progress every step of the way. RO Hutchinson has worked for me on multiple occasions, and on various projects including doing a full gut and renovation of a bathroom in one of my condos. Mr. Hutchinson provided detailed written project projections, along with timelines and anticipated costs. He and his crew arrived ON TIME every single day, worked (unbelievably) without so much as a break, and finished precisely on schedule. All for a cost that was reasonable. Mr. Hutchinson was then hired again to turn a half bathroom in one of my homes into a full bathroom. This included excivation of my basement door, demolition of the previous bathroom, replacement of new sewage and drainage pipes, instillation of a new shower, rerouting heating and cooling ducts, plumbing, tile work (with a precision that I still cannot believe), and finally painting the whole area to the point that the bathroom looks like it was designed as part of the original house. All of this done without a glitch and with the utmost respect for my property. He again was called upon to remove a load bearing wall in my home, and Mr. Hutchinson approached this project with the same professionalism that I appreciated. Not only did he arrange for the delivery of the necessary project pieces, he was there (as always) to ensure the completed product was without any blemish. I can honestly confess that his combined work has added well over 70K to my home. Mr. Hutchinson as a person is welcome in my home any time, and as a professional I have plans to call on his services again and far into the future. I recommend Mr. Hutchinson and his team highly. Rohan and his team were fantastic. They arrived as scheduled, completed their work as agreed and left our home cleaner than when they arrived. I asked Rohan to gut my darkroom and build me a new one from plans I had drawn up. He and his group followed those plans with craftsmanship in a timely manner, and I am now back making prints. I chose them because they had done an excellent job with our kitchen and family room. I cannot more highly recommend them for whatever needs one might happen to have.

Shoddy work. His drain plumbing violated code by sloping way too fast, which would have sucked water from the P-trap beneath the sink and filled the bathroom with sewer gasses. He placed an electrical junction box behind drywall, which violates code and can create electrical nightmares. He added a steel HVAC register that bumped into our copper main water supply lines, which would cause them to corrode and fail. He used drywall screws to affix tile backerboard, rather than backboard screws designed not to be corroded by tile mortar. We terminated the project early.

Mr. Hutchinson and his assistant were excellent, earning every one of the outstanding ratings shown above. We were completely satisfied with every aspect of the project and would not hesitate to engage him for future projects or recommend him to others.
