Comcast Service in Reisterstown, MD

They vary but they have been getting better in their service quality than they used to be. Their telephone service when something isn’t working probably could be improved upon. Getting through to it used to be a real problem but that is much better now. We can get through somebody and we work our way through their internal levels of voice mail and eventually end up talking to somebody who is probably in Bangalore who for the routine stuff knows the routine answers. I’m pretty computer savvy so by the time I call Comcast, it’s because something isn’t working in their system or something very strange doesn’t work with their software that they usually don’t understand much better than I do. So far they managed to keep it working and because Verizon has been aggressively courting us to connect FiOS to our internet and TV, Comcast has responded to the competition by speeding up our connection so that so far we haven’t jumped ship yet. It was very, very noticeable that the Comcast connection became much faster and more reliable as soon as Verizon finished wiring our neighborhood for fiber. I keep telling myself that the next time Comcast becomes truly unreliable, we may just go to Verizon for internet, but the trouble is we’ve got 5 email addresses at Comcast which makes it kind of difficult to totally switch, but Comcast is improving. They just sent me at their request a new and better router to get faster service that I installed last week. It actually works quite well except that it revealed the flaw in my old Microsoft software wouldn’t work with more modern stuff. I called Comcast and got the guy and went through the routine things and didn’t really fully understand the problem. When I looked on Comcast, they had one of these user blocks sort of things and I searched on that and found exactly my problem and found out what was causing it and figured out what I needed to do to fix it from their online service. Their telephone service was a little bit suboptimal in working out the problem for me even though other users have obviously encountered it since it was in their user blog as a question someone had answered. I only had this new router to use for a better and faster cable modem for a week. So far, it has been as fast as it ever had been and a little bit faster. It enables me to order fancier and more expensive services from them that go up to 5 times as fast as what I am getting now. It’s always been fairly prompt and fairly fast until the last month or so when suddenly it was having slow downs with the old modem. I finally figured out that was because I was probably sharing with a few other lazy people who haven’t upgraded one channel that they have preserved for the old service. I upgraded it and it went back up to a full speed immediately. As far as I know, it’s fairly reliable. I don’t know if that could change in the future, but they are busy marketing their fast services and their fastest TV and movie streaming services so probably for the time being it will continue to be fast.
