It was great. They were the second people who came out to give us an estimate. The leak went down into the inside of the garage and there was mold. So they had to figure out a way to repair so that the leak wouldn’t happen again. The first guy who came out wouldn’t even touch the job. They did a great job and did it in a couple of days. They cleaned up. They came when they said they would come. I’ve already recommended them to somebody else.

Adrian was very gracious when we asked him to return a second time to make sure we had covered all the bases with him. We liked his plan. He didn't try to sell us more than we needed--no digging up the floor for drains or pumps. Our problem was not that serious and he assured us of that. The crew was on time and did a good job cleaning up after themselves. We would definitely recommend him to others. They continue to work with us and have come back many times to solve a stubborn issue on the inside of the foundation. We realize it is hard to reach. We are grateful they are continuing to work with us.
Description of Work: Adrian came twice to look at the situation in our basement, a couple of cracks and leakage around incoming pipes. He treated the cracks with a substance that was designed to fill the crack (it was "applied" through drilled holes in the foundation). After that treatment he "painted" the area with an epoxy sealer. I can't wait for a big, bad rain storm.

My call was answered promptly and Adrian came out to give estimate. I had 3 estimates, I decided on Foundation Restoration Specialists, Inc. The workmen were on time each day, very pleasant and professional. I piled things on a table and covered as much as I could. They helped move some things that were too heavy. They broke up the concrete the first day and removed. They were also able to unhook the washer and dryer and take the toilet up so I didn't have to call a plumber. Second day they finished with the jackhammer. Layed black perforated plastic covered with concrete with a drip fold along each wall that helps any water go into the drain. They put everything back in place, washer & dryer and toilet. Helped move some of the heavier things back where they were. Some of the workmen took some bags I couldn't lift to the dump they were going to, that was a big help. There were 2 sump pumps put in and I paid extra for an electrician used by the company. It's been a while ago but I think it was 3 days all together to finish. Very pleased. There was a leak from the washer outflow pipe and I call FRS and Adrian had a plumber stop by and take care of it. I really liked how prompt everything was and that they all worked together in a timely fashion. I may have forgotten some things but it all comes down to they are a very, very good company. I have recently found water coming into my Mother's house from an entirely different location and called Adrian and asked if he could look at the area. He came out in a day or so and showed me where the water was probably coming in around a cable coming into the house. He offered to fix it if I didn't feel comfortable caulking. He told me what to buy, I went to Home Depot and bought the caulking and applied to the area and the next rain, no water. Thanks Adrian.

Received a quote from Stop Leak over the phone after sending pictures of a rusted sump well. I got three quotes from three different repair companies---all were within $100 of each other. They were responsive and professional on the phone. I chose another company to do the work because they actually came to my house to look at the problem and spent a while explaining what they'd do and why.

The installation went very smoothly. The workmen were very professional and did a lot of heavy lifting, since drainage rocks had to be carried in to the crawl space. It has now been nearly seven years since this job was done, and we have not had any episodes of basement flooding. Today happened to be a very rainy day, and I was again grateful for the great work that Adrian Palazzi and his men did.

Adrian Palazzi was very professional and gave me a reasonable price for the work that he suggested be done. I received three estimates and ended up going with a competitor, but all were close in scope and price. I would call on Stop Leak again to give me an estimate for repairs, and wouldn't hesitate to recomment that people call Adrian for help.

I called today because I discovered dirt falling from the drop ceiling in the basement. There was no evidence of water, so I wasn't sure who to call or what had to be done. Mr. Palazzi arrived as promised. He was very professional and knowledgable. He examined the ceiling and found no damage or evidence of water in the space. We went outside of the house and no cracks in the foundation were found. He determined when the cement had been poured and explained how the foundation of my house had been done. He felt this was probably a one time event and advised me to check this spot periodically for any futher issues of dirt or water.

After my initial contact with Stop-Leak via their website email, I received a phone call within 30 minutes...and on a Sunday no less! We scheduled an appointment for the very next morning and Adrian arrived promptly at 10AM. In about an hour he diagnosed the problem and gave an on the spot estimate which was what we considered to be very reasonable, so we scheduled the work for three days later. Pleasantly, Adrian called that same night to say that due to a schedule change they could do the work the very next day! A large crew arrived promptly at 7:30AM and started immediately. The workers handled different stages of the work simultaneously, from excavating, mixing concrete, digging trenches, installing pipes and drain fields, installing the sump pump and pouring concrete. They worked together very efficiently, like a well oiled machine, and completed the job as promised within one normal workday. This included a much appreciated cleanup afterwords that included sweeping, dusting, and wiping up the connecting kitchen, even though it had been sealed off at the doorway with heavy plastic. They also cleaned up the yard where they had been mixing concrete, re-layed the dirt and grass over the trenches so it was totally unnoticeable and swept the driveway, even part of the street and gutters. Even the neighbors commented on their terrific cleanup efforts! All the workers were professional, pleasant and quite knowledgeable. They answered all questions and provided explanations of every step of the work. The work was done for the exact amount of the estimate, even though there was an unexpected and significant increased concrete thickness to excavate Since we have not had any rain since the work was done, I can not yet comment on the resolution of the water problem, but based on their work ethic and positive A rating reviews, we do not expect that to be an issue. It was a pleasant surprise to have such a great experience with a contractor....especially for my 87 year old mother! We highly recommend Stop-Leak and will not hesitate to use them in the future. They created the well for, and installed a new sump pump, recovered
Description of Work: After an analysis of the problem, installed a sump pump to resolve the ground water issue in in the kitchenette of my elderly mother's 1942 bungalow (which has no basement). This required indoor and outdoor excavation to lay the necessary drainage pipes/fields etc, installation of a small pipe through a wall and running about 10 feet of underground pipe away from the house.

Met one of the partners, Adrien at the MD home show. very personable. Answered all my questions. Came to my home @ scheduled day/time for estimate. The job went a lot smoother and not messy as I had imagined it would be. (basement-did not have a sump pump so had to jackhammer through floor along width of home). On the scheduled day, the crew showed up on time, were friendly, answer questions when I had them and took the time to show me what they were doing. Several of my neighbors who had pumps installed have the pipe sticking out of their houses up to a foot off the ground. Mine was partially buried and with a little mulch you don't even know its there. Very happy with the overall job & experience. SO nice to be able to put the rug bag down on the floor vs keeping it folded back because I never knew when it rained if water would leak in. Its nice to be able to sleep through a rain storm again without worrying about by basement flooding.

The Stopleak team is extremely friendly and professional. I was very impressed by every aspect of them, from their focus on the work at hand to the impeccable clean-up. Also, instead of just walking back inside of the house, they rang the doorbell and waited each time. They showed an honest respect for my home. Much like the other reviews say, the quality of their work is also great. The leaks are gone now, and my basement is dry. Although I hope that I do not have to call Stopleak again, I would highly recommend them to anybody in a similar situation.

I met Adrian, one of the owners, at the Timonium Home Show in February along with about six other basement waterproofers. I found Adrian to be a straight forward individual at the Home Show and scheduled a time for him to come out and see my problem first hand. He, himself, came out at my convenience after work, did a thorough inspection, and provided me with the estimate. It was very cut and dry with absolutely no pressure to make a decision. He actually told me to think about it and call him if I was interested. I had interviewed all of the waterproofers I had met at the Home Show, and only Adrian and one other gave me definite estimates with no pressure. All of the others gave me over-inflated estimates and insisted I make a decision on the spot with the promise of a discount if I decided immediately. The prices from these other companies were staggering, even with the so-called discount. Stop Leak showed up on the day and at the time they were scheduled. The team did a fabulous job! They were professional and efficient and performed the work in a shorter period of time than I had anticipated. They cleaned up after, and everything was as I had anticipated. After the first hard rain and no leaks, it was clear that they had done a great job! I would encourage anyone who requires basement waterproofing services to contact Stop Leak first! Do not waste your time with anyone else!
Description of Work: They installed a pressure relief system and a 1/3 hp sump pump in my basement due to a water leak at the foundation. Additionally they patched two areas in my well room with hydraulic cement and painted with waterproffing paint.

I had half a dozen contractors come to my house in the course of trying to stop the water coming into my sunroom, largely because I tend to overthink things and want second and third opinions, as well as to get a general idea of what contractors think and what the going rate is. Adrian Palazzi examined the leaking area where water was soaking into the carpet in my sunroom, and proposed what nearly everyone did: a French drain and sump pump inside the sunroom. Later, when someone else pointed out that I had water seepage in my basement also, I emailed Mr. Palazzi for an estimate to have that done as well. Of the several contractors I had over to give me estimates, Mr. Palazzi was one of two or three who made my "short list." He was very straightforward, gave a clear and reasonable explanation, had a professional presentation, and his price was one of the lowest. He didn't try to hard-sell me. For various reasons, I went with another, larger company, which may or may not have been the best choice though I think it worked out (knock on wood -- see "overthinking things," above.) But this wasn't a knock on Foundation Restoration Specialists or Mr. Palazzi. I came very close to choosing them, and would likely call them if I need more work done and am not satisfied with the other company.
Description of Work: I had a sunroom with water coming in under the wall after rain or snow melt. I needed an inspection to determine what was causing the water leakage and how to remediate it, and an estimate.

The crew arrived promptly and began covering my carpet. The job lasted from approximately 8AM - 2:30PM. The crew, like Mr. Palazzi, were polite and personable which means a lot because you are not always comfortable with workers in your house. They only entered the area in which they were working and were very careful when bringing water and their equipment in for this job. This was a no nonsense crew who applied themselves to the task at hand from beginning to end. They drilled holes in the concrete for ports in which to insert the filler. When this was setting, the crew went to lunch. Even though I left the door open for them, when they returned they did not just walk back into the house, they rang the doorbell and waited for me to answer. After lunch the ports were removed and the holes were closed off smoothly. They cleaned the entire basement area where they were working and removed all the floor covering they laid down. We were informed earlier that some of the material might come up on the outside of the house, which it did. The crew cleaned up around the edges of the house and driveway and thoroughly washed it down so there were no signs of the material. We have had several downpours of rain since the job last month and "NO LEAKS". I couldn't be happier. No more musty smell or dampness in the air. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better repair experience. It was a costly job but we all complain about having to spend a large sum of money. In this case, you get what you pay for and this was money well spent. I would use this company again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Whenever it rained or snowed, water would leak in the basement (buckets full) around the main water pipe. I initially consulted a couple plumbers but was informed the leak was not from the water pipe itself and I should contact someone who could repair the concrete wall where the water pipe entered the basement. In addition to the leak around the pipe there were cracks in the concrete wall which led around to the main structure beam that I felt needed to be repaired as well. I called Stop Leak and Adrian Palazzi immediately returned my call and made arrangements to come for a free estimate. There was no pressure involved in signing a contract and I did not make an immediate decision to have this company do the repair. Mr. Palazzi told me to get back to him if I wanted him to perform this repair. Mr. Palazzi was very personable and knowledgeable and it was an overall pleasant experience. I called Mr. Palazzi about a week later to set this job up. I emailed him several times prior to the job with questions and concerns to which him responded promptly.

Response from Stop Leak Foundation Restoration Specialists Inc
To Whom It May Concern, I received an email from Angie's List withy a review dated March 15, 2013. I believe there is a misunderstanding between the customer and myself. Per the customers report, the last time I worked at her home was January 16, 2013 and I have not heard anything from her until I received this report. Subsequently, I have spoken to Ms. Miller last Friday, April 5, 2013 and while I was out of town I promised to call her back on Tuesday April 9, 2013, which I will do to set up a meeting to resolve the issue. I trust this will clarify this matter.

We have had some basement flooding over the last couple of years, but it was really bad after Hurricane Sandy. We had three different companies come out and give us estimates to waterproof the basement. Adrian came out and gave us an estimate. He was very nice, professional, and knowledgeable about the situation. He answered all of our questions. Overall, it was a good experience. It came down to StopLeak and another company. Both companies offered very similar solution systems. We only went with the other company because they offered a slightly lower price. We would highly recommend checking out StopLeak.

My experience went very well. Excellent customer service. Adrian is a local businessman who really cares about his customers and his company's reputation.
Description of Work: After losing power during Hurricane Sandy, and after the battery to my back-up sump pump gave out, I called Adrian with an emergency request for another battery. He was extremely helpful in calling all the stores he knew would carry such a battery and, after calling multiple stores, he found one that had a battery in stock. He had two of his employees deliver it as quickly as possible. He helped save my basement from sustaining significant water damage. The gentleman, Adrain, was very thorough and brought information and pictures. He explained everything that he was going to do and he would be working from the inside. There was no pressure to sign a contract which I didn't do. He told us basically we had a structural crack in the one area and that is really not what I initially called him for but I brought that up. The cost went from $3,400 to $7,000 to cover that extra ground. This would be one side wall and part of the front of the basement. So he did leave that option open. He did say that at some point in time the crack would become larger but it was totally my option as to whether to fix it now or not. Again, there was no pressure to get the additional work done. He also looked around the outside of the house and did mention that sometimes the material they inject on the inside seeps up to the outside. It is some type of a cement filler. But if anything did seep up through the outside that they would be responsible for cleaning it up. I was very pleased with his presentation. When I originally called him he called me right back in about ten minutes. He was very professional. He showed up early but did call ahead of time to ask if that would be alright. I feel like I may use them for the work.
Description of Work: Stop Leak Foundation Restoration did come out today to give me an estimate for basement waterproofing. I have a leak around my main water pipe coming in through the concrete wall in the basement.
