The company president, John Woelfel provided excellent service. He was polite, efficient, trustworthy, and the job he and his crew carried out was very much to our satisfaction. Highly recommended

This was a very long and complex job, which involved a great many sub-contractors, as well as John Woelfel's primary carpenters: Guy, Mike, Steve, and Noe'. Of course the job ran over both in time and cost. The work of everyone of the sub-contractors had problems from getting them to show up to the quality of the work. The job that Woelfel's sub-contractors did on the floors was so awful that we started looking for a person on our own to do them again. And Woelfel refused to admit for three weeks that there was anything wrong, until he started to see us bringing in new people and my wife just flat out fired the sub. The same sub who did the floors was also the painter. And this person order three times as much paint as needed, and we later found out it is his practice to take the extra paint home with him. But he was fired before he got the chance. We also ran into problems with HVAC who did the furnace and heating system. We discovered that things we thought we had contracted for were not done. The sub who did the tile work in the showers and bathrooms had to be called back eight times to make it right. The story is similar with the electric and plumbing. In the end, we still aren't sure what was actually covered in the original contract and what the "overages" were for. We also came to find out later the mark-up over the actual price the subs were being paid was 200%. And things still needed to be made right after that. We got tired of calling Woelfel back to address yet another thing. But as he said to me many times, "Not everyone is perfect."
Description of Work: Remodeled my residence. Upgraded electric, plumbing, new dry wall, kitchen, baths, sanded floors, and painting, etc.

They worked on the house on behalf of the sellers prior to closing. The work impressed our home inspector, so we hired them to fix up the house some more after we bought it. Guy did most of the jobs mentioned above, and he is good. John also brought in other people as needed for the various work, like tiling and plumbing. The plumber who installed our new shower line did a bad job, resulting in a leak that went through the floor from upper to lower level. We had to call another plumber from our home warranty to fix it, who had to cut holes in the drywall -- so now we have two ugly patched walls that we have to deal with. Had some accounting issues when John itemized the labor and materials, we realized the his invoice overcharged us. After some back-and-forth, John refunded the extra money we paid and also compensated us some money for the leak. I would use Guy again, but definitely not the plumber.
Description of Work: Paint three bedrooms and hallway. Add tiles and new shower line in bathroom. Fix marble flooring in bathroom. Cover a small concrete block in basement with drywall. Remove whole-house fan. Patch drywall holes. Other small handyman work.

The bead board failed and allowed water leakage to the lower deck. It came unsnaped with either wind or rain. Footers that qa added to reinforce the structure were installed incorrectly and allowed the whole structure to sink several inches into the ground. The footers were placed in a hole and concrete poured around them. Once the wood footers dried out they shrunk allowing them to be pushed down thru the concrete. Concrete should have been poured into the hole, allowed to dry and the wood footers placed on top of the cured concrete. The multi thousand pound structure was supported only with nails. Not with support beams. Everything had to be redone. QA has refused to respond to my inquiries
Description of Work: Quick response (qr) was hired to build a 2nd story covered deck on an existing deck. The underside of both ceilings were made of vinal bead board.
