Merry Maids of Towson

They come every other week. They have been coming for 36 years. The price is for each visit, they bring two people, and they stay for about two hours. It is now $188. I don't expect them to do what I would do. We are going to be moving and they are already in the new place. They have had some bad people, but they get rid of them.

I thought they were excellent. They were a bit pricey but worth it. I would use them again if I need to. Three of them came and each took a room. They were efficient and there literally wasn’t a speck of dust when they were done.

We had them come in every few weeks to clean the bathroom, kitchen and vacuum. They show up when they are supposed to. They bring their own equipment. They are quiet and go about their business. They do what i ask them to do.

Overall, the experience goes very well. Once the job was complete, they leave personal notes, which I appreciate. They always do a good job and I am satisfied with their services.

They were very expensive. They took too long, and they didn?t do a good job. I will not use them again in the future.

First cleaning they sent 2 girls, one was on her first day. Cleaning is not bad, but not good either, but I figured it was the one girl's first day so I didn't say anything. On the 2nd visit 2 weeks later they just sent the new girl...I cleaned after she left. 2 weeks after that they sent the same two girls again. I called for a different team because my teenagers could clean better! The new team was very nice and does a good job the first time they clean. I give them instruction on how to do certain things and where things are. We use a special cleaning on all the floors, no carpeting, due to one child with asthma. They use this cleaner the first time and the first time only. The first time they cleaned it was close to perfect, I was thrilled. Then things begin to go down hill, and quickly. They conveniently forgot to re-line all the waste cans, left the filled garbage bags next to my laundry room, didn't scrub the water stains in the tile showers, completely forgot one bathroom - it's easier for me to clean it then to call and complain and listen to the woman on the other end sigh uncontrollably. They only vacuum around things, not under things nor to they move things to vacuum. I have laminate flooring and you can move an enormous dresser on this floor and never scratch it and I can move the items and not hurt myself so these girls should have been able to, they don't. Final straw was the morning after they cleaned I go to get into my shower. The sliding glass doors had been pushed off the tracks (it's a floating glass door-tracks on top only) so unless you go to move it you won't notice. So when they cleaned the doors they HAD to know because the door was stuck. So I'm in the shower and I try to close the door, when it doesn't slide as easily as it always does I figure they cleaned the tracks and there must be a bit of paper towel stuck in there so I apply a little pressure, the glass door almost falls on top of me! It's held precariously by one rubber stopper on the bottom, that was the only thing between me and injury! And it's not like I was dressed to repair the door, I was getting in the shower! I called them and they gave me an attitude. So I fired them. It isn't so much that the door was pushed off the tracks, accidents happen, but no one told me. They had to absolutely know! If they had told me I probably wouldn't have fired them! It cost me $138.00 to have it repaired. I sent them the bill after I paid it, I don't think I'm going to get reimbursed. But I guess time will tell.

The prices are too high and the work is inconsistent. We found 1 team of workers that were good, 3 other teams were not. Merry Maids charges by the frequency of the cleaning rather than the time needed to do the work, and I think they take advantage of that. When we called to complain about this last cleaning the manager seemed uninterested in making us happy. She asked us if we wanted to submit a complaint about the team, our opinion is that it isn't the team so much as the management. We are no longer Merry Maids customers!

I was having surgery and didn't have the time (or inclination) to do the cleaning that needed to be done if I was going to sit in this house for the next month. In desperation, I called Merry Maids. Gayle was very happy to send Jerry to give me a reasonable estimate and advice on how to proceed. Heather & Stacey (team #15) did a wonderful job with a very dusty, cat-hairy, dirty house. They worked quickly, pleasantly, and efficiently. I can't wait to enter into a maintenance contract with this company for the care of my home.

First off they were 1/2 hr late. Instead of 3 cleaners I got 2. They only cleaned for 3 1/2 hrs and had to leave. I was very angry and did not tip them. To say I was angry and felt ripped off is an understatement. I did not get this company from Angies List but used the phone book. I would not have used Merry Maids if I had known they had taken over as I had used them once before when they were just adequate.

Initially okay. As time went on, the cleaning depended on the week and the crew. Sometimes good, sometimes they would forget entire rooms. They have trouble showing up timely, which is hard when you have small children. The office staff has problems with getting the bills straight and I have had to call several times. They say they send an inspector every 2 visits, which they don't, and they want you to fill out comment cards which they forget to leave. Today I gave a communication sheet to the girl to give to the office staff and she refused to take it, telling me to call them instead.

I WASN'T ENTIRELY IMPRESSED WITH THE FINISHED CLEANING PRODUCT. MAIDS WERE NICE, BUT I FELT THAT HAD TO DO MORE CLEANING UP BEFORE THEY ARRIVED. UNFORTUNATELY, NO ONE CLEANS YOUR HOUSE LIKE YOU DO. PROBABLY WOULD NOT USE THEM AGAIN.
