The guys at Kanon are pros who do what they say they're going to do, ensure that every detail is clearly understood by their clients, and who are true craftsman. They take quality work and client services very seriously. Yes, they cost a little more. But the peace of mind that comes with knowing that our home is in expert hands is worth it. Besides the great work they did and the wonderful experience, the story of this renovation from the client perspective is Kanon's flexibility. We had originally contracted Kanon to renovation our kitchen. We had gone through a long(ish) design process with them and signed a construction contract. We were then hit with a surprise expense and were forced to ask Kanon if we could cancel the contract. They agreed to cancel the contract and apply our original deposit to the basement renovation. The kitchen process is now back on track and we're planning more work with Kanon.
Description of Work: Kanon finished our previously unfinished basement. This included design, framing, insulation, lighting, wiring, removal of an old gas fire place, drywall, carpeting, paint, and also upgrading our electrical service from 100 to 200 amps. They transformed the space into a dark basement into a bright and beautiful playroom for kids. In order to preserve our waterproofing warranty, we asked Kanon to finish the basement without putting any nails into the wall. They arrived at a creative solution. In addition, they double layered the drywall ceiling as a sound dampening measure. In the end, our design and Kanon's creativity and experience left us with a basement renovation that accommodates all of the service functions of a basement while making it a safe, warm, dry, and attractive place for kids to play.
