One expects a retail store to be well lit and inviting. Appliance Warehouse is the antithesis of a bright, welcoming business. From the outside and inside, Appliance Warehouse is so lugubrious that I felt uncomfortable and could barely see the store's appliances. I surmised the want of adequate light was a cost savings measure. There were two 27" electric stacked laundry centers. One was battered and unsightly. The second was dirty and had trash and leaves inside the tub. I spoke to the owners, who were brothers. The younger brother was extremely affable, engaging and exceedingly friendly. The older brother was taciturn and had a take it or leave it attitude. I was told the price of the laundry center was $550 with a $65 delivery charge. I mentioned Charm City charged $350 with a $100 delivery charge. I also stated I had a 15% discount coupon. The older brother stated he would honor the discount with no warranty or I could pay full price with a thirty day warranty. I left without making a purchase. The next day I was able to buy on sale at a Sears Outlet a never used slightly dented GE laundry center for $550, no sales tax because of a state tax holiday and no delivery or installation charges. Perhaps the older brother was having a bad day; but he will either improve his attitude, adjust his prices to become competitive, turn on the full complement of lights in his store or go out of business.

I called this warehouse to inquire about washer/dryer sets. The young man was courteous and helpful on the phone, and this continued when I arrived to shop. With some information from him about several models, I chose my set. I was pleased with the price and ended up getting a 2-3 year old Kenmore Elite model. He indicated that they would call me regarding delivery in the next few days. As promised, I had my set delivered and installed two days later. They were professional and courteous throughout the process, and tested both units before leaving. One of the men even politely pointed out a leak in our faucet of which we weren't aware. We were missing one of the parts required for complete hookup (the dryer duct and clamps, which they don't provide), and he explained exactly what I would need from Home Depot. I was able to get what he described and install it myself with ease. We have a 30-day warranty on these refurbished units. It has only been a week, but we are more than satisfied so far - we've done about 10 loads of laundry already with no issues!
