Serenity Moving

Our move was from MD to DE. Owner showed up 2 hours late, with 1 26ft and 1 24 ft. ( was to have been 2 26ft trucks) He placed the delay on his nephew who owned the company that provided truck rentals. Mid day, as it was very hot, I left to get the young men some lunch as I thought they'd be hungry.. After lunch and approx. 1:30, the owner requests a cash advance. Now it's 1:30 on a Saturday. Banks close at Noon on Saturday. I explained that he did not request this previously and there was no mention of this request on the contract and aske... view mored how much he needed. He asked for 1/2 which was $1,100!!! Why would he wait until 1:30 to ask me and why did he not mention it when I left to buy his crew lunch the first time???? This request made me a little uneasy. Unfortunately, we did not have any options at that point. Thankfully, I was able to draw the money out of my account through the ATM however I requested he sign for it. When we arrived in Delaware, they were to have set all our furniture back together in rooms they belonged in. At that point they "needed to get back to MD for another job the next morning". I provided owner with the final check and owner marked contract as paid in full and was on his way. I guess we should have been grateful that he set up our bed. At 9:30pm that night, I get a call from his wife explaining that I should have wrote the check out to him directly instead of the Company. That could not have waited till the next morning???? The owner noticed the "error" halfway home. I needed to cancel out yet another check and re write in his name - not the companies name - that still makes no sense to me. That old saying you get what you pay for......... we should have known better! We went on our realtors recommendation for this company. We made a HUGE mistake of not checking out the company first - which quite frankly is our usual routine. I actually waited a couple of days before writing this review. We received none of the service that was to have been provided with exception of our bed being put back together. Our brand new sofa has marks all over it and we have one chair that's now damaged - it's an old chair but it'll still need to be replaced. The worst was Yesterday, we found that our very old vase has been broken as well. I refuse to contact these individuals again! One positive was that the young men were very polite - they were working under the direction of the owner who clearly wanted to get back home. I would not recommend this "moving" company!

I can't say anything negative about their service! Everything went smoothly!
