Description of Work: Yard by Yard prepared some new beds, edged several large existing beds, planted 11 new bushes, removed several old bushes, completely pruned the existing bushes in the yard, restacked an existing rock wall, and cleared away accumulated branches from storm damage. They went above and beyond by clearing away poison ivy in several areas of the yard while pruning. We were pleased with their performance, work was done promptly as scheduled, and we would use them again. Price seemed reasonable for all the work done.

Description of Work: They put in pavers along the side of my driveway, landscaped behind and next to the sheds, laid out grass seed and planted a tree. Went well though I would have preferred that they composted or placed straw over the seed to help maintain it

Description of Work: Excellent work. The owner is very knowledgeable and has trained his crews so they recognize natives vs invasives. They were prompt and thorough. We could not be happier. They are not inexpensive but well worth the price. We have a large area broken into several segments with many large mature trees and a big ivy problem. We have ancient Azaleas and Rhododendrons. They pruned everything and fertilized and mulched. Everything looks healthier already.

Description of Work: Mulching, edging, weeding, cleanup, fertilizing and pruning trees and shrubs on 7500 square foot lot. Crew was very professional and neat. Bryan, the owner, worked hard to please us. Crew did everything promised to us. Front office was pleasant. i did not seek other bids, so not in position to say how the cost compares to other.

Description of Work: Brian was very knowledgeable about what plants would work best in my front yard. He was very thorough and keep me abreast of his progress throughout the entire process. Once we agreed on the plants and design, he gave me a reasonable estimate, informed me when he had purchased the plants, and later scheduled a time to prep the soil and came back the very next day with his team to plant the flowers. Before Brian and his team came out to do the work, I went shopping and found flowers that I really liked that weren't initially a part of the design Brian and I discussed. I called Brian as I stood in the store that day and he encouraged me to go ahead and purchase the flowers and had no problem adding them to the design. His team did an excellent job. I would highly recommend them. I've received so many compliments from neighbors since the services were rendered.

Description of Work: I hired the firm to spruce up my yard before a home sale. The price came in about half-way between the highest bidder, American Plant, and the lowest bidder. The work was performed in the manner expected, and I couldn't have been happier. The special touches that bear mentioning follow: 1. Eagerness to reuse and recycle. a. Took away old wire fencing for recycling. b. Exhausted compost from my pile and recycled bin materials. c. Split overgrown liriope plants, creating small ones to plant in bare or under-landscaped parts of yard. 2. Extremely friendly towards other contractors I had on site during bidding and work. 3. Better vision for creative, reasonably priced make-over for home sales purpose than other bidders. My highest recommendation.

 + -1 moreThe owner, Brian Mahan, came out to see what I wanted done the same day I called. He spent a couple of hours discussing my job, making suggestions, answering all my questions, and then wrote out a proposal right away. He was personable, polite, and knowledgeable about the plants and techniques, and provided me a list of references. He even took me to see another job he had recently completed in my area. When I decided to hire him, I was able to get the work scheduled in a week. The day before the scheduled work, Brian dropped off at my house the new wintergreen boxwoods I wanted planted. The next day, the work crew arrived within the time scheduled, with Brian arriving earlier to review the work to be done. I accompanied him as he explained to his crew exactly what was to be done. He informed me that he had to leave for a few hours, but introduced me to one of his men, who could take any instructions or questions I had until he returned. The men worked quickly and efficiently, doing everything the way I wanted. When they were done, they removed all their debris and even some piles of branches I had accumulated in my front and back yards. They also removed leaves from my front yard at no extra charge. When Brian returned, he inspected everything and showed me what was done. I was very pleased with the whole experience, and would definitely consider them again for future yard projects.
Description of Work: Boxwoods, yews, holllies, and barberries in front and back yards were trimmed, and a crape myrtle and large privet(?) were pruned. Existing garden bed in front yard were weeded, mulched, fertilized, and edged. Existing loriope plants were divided and spread out along perimeter of front garden bed. After weeding an existing side garden bed, weed blocking fabric was installed, six new wintergreen boxwoods were installed, and bed was mulched. All trimmings and debris they produced, plus several existing piles of branches, were removed. Driveway and sidewalks were edged. Leaves were blown off front lawn and removed. Work was done by a team of five, and completed within 5 hours.
