About us

Affordable Roofing and Affordable Pressure Washing are veteran owned local companies. They are Branches branch of our Affordable Group of companies along with Budget Construction Cleaning. Having been involved in the construction industry since the late 1980’s in the DMV area, we saw the demand from our customers to provide them with roofing services. We’re also a family-owned business. Ellie Harvey has headed the administrative part of the group for over 15 years, forging relationships and a high quality workmanship reputation in the region. Her son Johnny Hernandez joined the group after an honorable career in the US Military and the DC Police Department now heads the day-to-day field operations.

Our original appointment had to be rescheduled so they gave me a 10% discount - their suggestion, not mine. The crew was on-time, courteous and thorough. I had a few problem areas that I needed addressed but they did the entire house way beyond my expectations. Great service and have saved their number if and when I need it again.

I called Affordable Home Solutions after seeing a advertizement on their method of using a low pressure to clean the exterior siding of a house.They guaranteed their price over the phone even though I have a two story house. We set a date and time and they showed up latter than expected. I pointed out that I had some bad mildew on one side of my house and that my gutters were fairly stained and dirty along the facing. Apparently they use a solution that really removes the mildew and grime. I could not believe how clean and shiny my house looked afterwards. They used a brush along the gutters to really give them a new look. I was very pleased with all their efforts to do such a good job. l will definitely use them again.

Excellent! Because of rain the company could not immediately stain the front porch. The technician came back a week later and did an excellent job staining the porch for an additional $100. The only negative aspect was the unpleasant odor of the stain, which dissipated within a few days.
Description of Work: Affordable Home Solutions power washed the vinyl siding on three sides of my house, and the front and side deck of my wrap around porch. All the green mold and dirt were completely gone; the house looked spotless. As an added bonus, in the process of washing the siding near the front porch, the company completely cleaned the white porch columns and railing, which had a build up of pollen, dirt and mold. The company also power washed the 14 front steps and landing, as well as the latticework under the porch, for free! Guests who visited my house for the first time that weekend asked how old the house was, and noted that it looked like new. The company used lower pressure and a solution that did not strip any paint off of the porch railing or other wood surfaces. A previous company I used stripped paint off trim in several areas. Also, as far as I can tell, the many plants surrounding the front porch were not harmed by the spray. Nevertheless, if you have delicate plants or flowers near the area to be cleaned, I would suggest covering them. Finally, the company did not power wash the back of the house because the technician noted that a deck in the back had been recently stained. He said the solution would cause the stain to bubble. I appreciated his thoughtfulness.

George and one other worker from the company cleaned the dirt and mold off of my vinyl siding and window frames. They sprayed on a solution to loosen the contaminates, then cleaned with higher pressure to remove them. They were very careful not to remove paint from painted surfaces by not using too much pressure or getting too close with the nozzle. The back of my house is three stories high and had the most mold, all of which was cleaned thoroughly. I have flower gardens on three sides of my house and there was no damage to any of my plants.

Since it was time for my regular deck maintenance, I got estimates from three companies. Affordable Home Solutions was able to give me an estimate over the phone when I gave them my deck dimensions. Since they offered the lowest price, I hired them to clean and seal the deck. They stayed in contact with me regarding the schedule and they arrived at the scheduled time for the cleaning. A series of rainy days delayed the seal, but the came at the first opportunity. The deck looks good and is ready for summer. I would use this company again.
