Tom was great at providing quick estimate, and was able to provide details and explain the work to be done. When I asked them for proof of insurance - they refused to provide it. If you don't mind using an uninsured contractor - they may be a good option. If you are like me, and want to know your contractor is insured, I suggest you ask for proof of insurance, and don't just take their word for it.

Response from Affordable Pressure Washing & Roofing
We came out and provided a free estimate for this particular homeowner and had priced and explained the service to a satisfactory degree, as the homeowner has stated. However, in our 27 years of business, we have never given out specific insurance policy information unless it was required to settle a claim. We consider the exchange of insurance information as something that should only happen when an insurance issue presents itself first. This particular homeowner is erroneous in claiming that we do not have insurance, we have been insured by Erie Insurance for the past 15 years. We are a large company, with a 14 truck fleet and over 60 employees. At our scale, we could not professionally function without comprehensive insurance coverage.

The polished concrete floor that we expected did not materialize from our contractor due to some mistakes made by them. After several proposals that we shot down, our contractor brought Richard into the picture whom suggested the metalic epoxy that we ended up going with and it completely surpassed our expectations, both in how it looks and how professional Richard and his crew is, these are people that simply won't be happy unless the job is done right. When I called I always got a return call very quickly if I had to leave a message and they are very punctual. The deck was in pretty bad shape after us not staining it in the timeframe that was suggested by the manufacturer. The first day they power washed and that went well. The second day consisted of them sanding and puttng the first coat on. The crew was very punctual, clean and respectful of having to walk through a conservatory to get to the deck. When I got home something didn't look right and I realized that I gave Richard the wrong information in regards to the stain color. Richard told me not to worry, that they would get the right color and come back to fix my mistake. The job is now complete and I couldn't be happier with the work that Richard and his crew did!
Description of Work: Affordable did two separate jobs for us. The first being adding a designer metalic epoxy onto polished concrete floor for a basement conversion to a two bedroom apartment. This is one of he most beautiful floors that I have ever seen. I wish I could upload photos. The second job was power washing, sanding then staining our deck that was in pretty bad shape.

The technicians arrived for both jobs on time. They were respectful about where to park and how to set up. The pressure washing took a long time because of the condition of our deck. They stayed with it until it looked like new. On their return trip for staining the deck, they carefully moved and/or covered the rest of our house and outdoor furniture in order to avoid any damage. I had a small cover stapled under the deck to catch rain after one particular party. They worked around it. Before we let them go, I pulled down the plastic cover and the team leader noticed that it caused a small portion of the wood to not be covered with stain. Even though they had cleaned up and packed their truck, he called one of the other workers back to fill in the unstained patch. I thought that went way above and beyond. We are very happy with the work - and the workers - and will definitely do this every 1 to 2 years as they recommended!
Description of Work: We actually had two deck treatments. In March they came to soft pressure wash our back deck. It hadn't been treated in 15 years and was very dirty. Afterwards, the deck looked like new. They recommended sealing it with a stain and I said I would think about it. They showed me some color samples and left. They were very polite, neat and professional. I called in a few days and requested the stain. They came the following week and the deck looks even better than new. A neighbor thought we built a new deck! Very happy with the service.

This company uses a soft wash method rather than the high pressure wash. We had a lot of mold and dirt on the siding, and they cleaned the entire house (2 story colonial) by using a solution and then rinsing with water. While the stand alone garage was not part of the original purchase, they agree to do it for an extra $65, which I thought was very reasonable (2 story garage). They were very professional and attentive to the customer, did excellent work on cleaning the siding, the house and garage look great now, and the price was good. As a favor, without being asked they also cleaned the plastic chairs in the back yard, and the tile top table on the front porch. Just super nice and friendly folks, like having your neighbors come over and do the work. Highly recommend.

Our house has needed washing since last summer but was worried about calling a provider because we are on a somewhat low-producing well for water. When I saw the ad for Affordable Home in an AL magazine, I was thrilled because it looked like it wouldn't stress our well too much. Barbara at Affordable Home was great on the phone, and even said they would bring a tank of water with them. Jorge, the technician who came out, was terrific too. He called when he was about an hour away and arrived within the hour, with a tank of water on the truck. He took the time to show me where our front porch was in need of recaulking and gave some other home maintenance tips. I was really impressed that he even cleaned the inside of our screened-in porch in back; I didn't expect that level of service. Our house looks so good now, even a month later. The white porch columns are still bright white, and the yellow siding is still very clean. I like the low-pressure option Affordable Home offers. Not only was it easy on our well, the biodegradable cleaners they use really do seem to do a better, long-lasting job than traditional high-pressure washing.

These guys were awesome! Showed up on time. Called ahead, twice. The company owner was here and his crew were professional, polite and very hard working. I had some tough calcium buildup on my slate roof from the stone mortar running down on it and they got it all off and cleaned the rest of the home top to bottom. It looks incredible. They went above and beyond.

It's a good thing we like a good challenge because [member's name removed]beautiful home had more than its share! There was efflorescence bleed out coming from three stone chimneys that was at least four business cards thick running unto a slate roof. Add in protecting the copper roofs from the efflo solution adjoining the slate roofs a pitch to difficult to walk and you have a very exiting day to say the least.. Everything went as planned and after a standard follow up visit to check the roof after it had dried we decided to schedule an additional touch up clean at no additional charge to remove the last bit of stubborn efflo. [member's name removed] were very understanding of the challenges we were up against and were great to work with even when we were cleaning up after dark the first day.. They are the types of Homeowners we like to keep in the Affordable SoftWash family for life! Thanks for your business and great Angie's List Review! Richard Bond

I had originally contact Affordable Softwash Solutions a number of months back through email via Angie's List, but had heard back. Months later, I received a phone call from Barbara, a company sales rep, apologizing and explaining that they had just received my email and asking if I still needed the work and wanted an estimate. Since I hadn't had the work performed, I said sure. From that point forward, communication and promptness were excellent. Given the email mishap, I rated Responsiveness a B not knowing who was at fault - the company or Angie's List. I felt it wrong to penalize too much; however, it would warrant an A without the slow start. Since they use chemicals and don't pressure wash, I asked a lot of questions of Barbara who was very patient and understanding. Those she didn't know the answer to were referred to an experienced technician. I always received a timely call back with a detailed answer to my question. After several weeks, I decided to move forward and the work was scheduled very quickly after I returned the signed estimate. The technicians called to let me know they were on their way and arrived well within the window I was given. I was impressed with the professionalism and care used throughout the treatment. Every step explained to me prior to my engaging the company was followed by the technicians doing the work. They were careful when doing the work and cleaned up on completion. No mud was left on the driveway or walkway. I was impressed with the results -- roof looked great! And true to their word, no grass or landscaping was damaged.

Apologies for the delay, we were not as diligent then as we are now on checking Angies List daily for inquiries into our services. We now log on right after turning on the computer, then fire up the coffee pot! :) Mr [removed member nam,e]is a very savvy, informed consumer who we had multiple conversations with before he choose us as a very well qualified Angie's List Business. The job went very well and the roof came out looking brand new, Mr H was so impressed we just did an estimate for him yesterday for additional concrete work. I'm already looking forward to his next review! Thanks for your business, we love repeat customers! Richard Bond

I called Affordable Soft Wash Solutions because they were local to me and well reviewed on Angie's List. Barbara was pleasant and professional on the phone, answered all my questions. Lucky for me? They were running a $195 special. She was able to fit me into the schedule the next day. She called to let me know when the crew was running a little late. It wasn't a problem and I appreciated the courtesy. When Jorge arrived with his helper, he surveyed the job and went onto the roof to remove debris that had accumulated on top of gutter guards. Then they sprayed the siding, gutters and windows with the cleaning agent, used a soft brush where necessary and rinsed it all. I put towels on my windowsills, just in case, at Barbara's suggestion, but it proved to be unnecessary. Better safe than sorry! During the job, the owner, Richard, dropped by to make sure everything was going well. We had a nice chat and I was impressed with the personal attention. The house looks great.

The tech arrived on 3 July to wash the house and the deck. The tech and his helper took great care to thoroughly wash the deck. I was told that after the deck had thoroughly dried someone would return and apply sealant to the deck. On 9 July sealant was applied to the deck. I only wish the same care had been used when the sealant was applied. I inspected the deck when I arrived home. A few spots were missed, but I didn't think it would be a problem. A few days later a pile of 'dust' appeared on a section of the deck. I noticed the pile was getting larger and asked around as to what the problem might be. The 'dust' was the chewed up wood from carpenter bees that had bore a hole in the deck where the sealant was missed. I took steps to address the carpenter bees and called Affordable to come out an apply sealant to the areas they had missed. They agreed to come out and stated they would have to wait until weather permitted. On 28 July I received a call that they would come out, but I would be charged to apply the sealant because they weren't responsible for carpenter bees'. I didn't ask them to be responsible for carpenter bees. I asked them to return and apply the sealant correctly as the should have in the beginning; I should not be charged again for poor delivery of service. I told Affordable no the to return and can not recommend them to others. Update: In the afternoon of 28 July I received a call from Affordable's Owner. He offered to return to apply sealant to the deck explaining that they typically only apply sealant to the top surface of the deck. On 29 July three men arrived. I explained what was needed; the men applied sealant to deck railings. Many thanks to Barbara at Affordable for help in getting this matter resolved.

Glad we could get [member name removed] taken care of, the carpenter bee's started burrowing into the underneath side of the rail after we sealed the deck. We do from time to time seal the underside of decks but it is an extra charge that most homeowners don't opt for. [member name removed] was an exceptionally nice homeowner to work for so we made the second trip at no extra charge.

Dear Angie’s List Members, My experience with Affordable SoftWash Solutions was nothing short of amazing! I was fortunate enough to have stumbled across this highly professional, customer service orientated company after attending the "Fight 4 Diabetes Cure" charity fundraising event for childhood diabetes. Richard Bond graciously donated several gift cards for Deck Cleaning, House Washing, Roof SoftWashing, Window Cleaning and Carpet Cleaning. I was lucky enough to bid on and win the Roof Soft Washing prize and after meeting with and having a lengthy conversation with Richard about various charities that we have in common, he donated the cost of washing my house to my favorite charity! The roof soft wash service was incredible to say the least. I thought for sure we would have to replace it, but it looked like a brand new roof when the crew was finished. I was so impressed with the results of the roof that I had the guys soft wash the house as well and had the same fantastic results. Every interaction I had with Affordable SoftWash, from the initial phone call with Barb in the office to Richard and his guys was like dealing with good friends. I look forward to working with them again in the future! This is truly a “5 Star Company” that believes in giving back to the community! Sincerely, Kathleen Baskoff

Affordable Home and Softwash Solutions are not only good at cleaning your home exterior, they are also very good at doing deck repair and maintenance. We originally used them to replace and stain just a few boards on her deck, but Carlos and his crew did such a quality job that we decided to use them again to replace and stain the remainder of the deck floor. Our deck now looks new and amazing and we appreciated the great customer service we received from them. They earned this second review from us.

The entire project went very well and the results were positive, due to Richard (sales manager), Barbara (office manager), their entire crew who worked hard to clean our home using their state-of-the-art professional cleaning solutions and softwash techniques. We had not cleaned our home exterior in several years and Affordable Home & Softwash Solutions did a fantastic job restoring everything. Our roof, deck, and siding look like new. The cool part is when Richard, who was on the site with the workers to make sure everything was done per spec, took photos of our home exterior before and after and sent them to us via text message as they were working on each part. Richard communicated well, is very knowledgeable in this field of exterior cleaning, and was responsive to all our ad-hoc requests. They worked quickly and efficiently and we got a good deal on pricing because we bundled everything. Very satisfied customers!

BIGGEST REGRET OF THE SUMMER WAS ENTRUSTING THIS COMPANY WITH MY DECK. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. Affordable softwash solutions' motto should be: "We'll COMPLETELY IGNORE CUSTOMERS' LEGITIMATE CONCERNS AND DAMAGE YOUR DECK -- then ILLEGALLY TRESPASS ON YOUR PRIVATE PROPERTY bc of our inappropriate sense of entitlement and delusional sense of charm, then wage INAPPROPRIATE PERSONAL ATTACK on customer" They left my 5-year YOUNG deck furry and splintered -- DON'T LET THEM DO THIS TO YOU. I asked this company to powerwash and seal my deck because of what seemed like a competitive price and because of their advertisement promising that their "affordable deck restoration" was "safe for wood surfaces" etc, compared to "conventional pressure washing", which they claimed "damages wood surfaces...and grain". I repeatedly expressed concerns to the workers about the water pressure with which they were washing my deck, while they were in the process of doing so. I ACTUALLY ASKED THEM TO STOP, but the worker said he didn't speak English. I expressed concerns to the second worker (who did speak English), but THEY CHOSE TO CONTINUE USING SAME TECHNIQUE, holding the nozzle ONLY A FEW INCHES AWAY FROM MOST OF MY WOOD DECK. I expressed concern about this distance (which I had read should be at least 18 inches). Since THE WORKERS WEREN'T HEEDING MY CONCERNS AND ADVICE, I called their company while they were still here. The owner asked me to have workers call the company, which I did. THEN THE WORKERS SIMPLY DROVE AWAY. Although the owner (Richard Bond) apologized for the workers' behavior, he maintained that he was confident that the deck had been cleaned correctly. WITHOUT HAVING BEEN PRESENT DURING THE WASHING, Bond tried to tell me the powerwash nozzle had been held too close to the deck only in isolated spots where there had been residual stain. I had to inform him that the nozzle was only a few inches away from most of the deck. Although Bond initially wanted to charge me for the washing (despite my concerns), he then offered to waive the washing fee, but only if they didn't have to return and seal my deck. Unfortunately, my concerns have since become even more serious. Bond had told me that IF THE SURFACE WERE DAMAGED BY WASHING, IT WOULD BE IMMEDIATELY APPARENT. AS MY DECK WAS DRYING, I REPORTED BY PHONE/EMAIL THAT THE SURFACE HAD BECOME "FURRY" AND "SPLINTERED" REITERATING THAT I HAD ASKED THE WORKERS TO STOP, BUT THEY WOULDN'T. Bond didn't respond for days, then just decided to show up with ZERO notice, apparently under the DELUSION that he had purchased my house and could simply enter my private property at his personal whim. although i took the time to email Bond to teach him the meaning of the word "trespass", i wish i'd just had him arrested. BOND ACKNOWLEDGED THE FURRY SPLINTERING BY RUBBING A SECTION OF RAILING WITH A RAG, BUT OFFERED TO DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. MY DECK WAS ONLY 5 YEARS YOUNG. AGAIN, DON'T LET THEM DO THIS TO YOU.
Description of Work: "Power washed" deck -- REFUSED TO STOP WHEN I RAISED CONCERNS about excessive water pressure and nozzle being too close to deck, REFUSED to respond to POST-WASH FURRINESS/SPLINTERING of my 5-year YOUNG deck, unapologetically expressed intention to ILLEGALLY TRESPASS on my private property, wrote inappropriate ad hominem response that totally avoids substantive response.

Response from Affordable Pressure Washing & Roofing
Wow.. Where do I begin with this one.. First of all I’d like to say that we’ve been Angies List members for many years. I love the service they provide for not only the consumer but also to me as a business owner. I want to know if we drop the ball and don’t provide the quality and customer service that we have built our reputation on for over 26 years. I use the service as a consumer as well and have had tremendous luck when hiring contractors for my personal home as well as my rental units. With that said, I do put more weight towards the good reviews over the bad because I know you can have ninety nine happy satisfied customers, most of which either don’t have the time or feel the need to write a review for good work that is and should be expected. It’s that one percent that will go out of their way to write a bad review whether its warranted or not. I don’t like bad reviews but can accept them if we’ve done something to deserve them and it’s a great way to get the issues or problems corrected. This particular Home Owner called and scheduled to have her deck restored, a simple job since it was under 200 square feet and only $99.99 to wash. Jorge was the technician and has been with Affordable for over 17 years, there was an existing stain that was on the deck which our stains and sealers wouldn’t match up to. We explained this and the H.O. (home owner) opted for our water based “economy" stain anyway. Jorge did a low pressure wash on the deck as advertised with a little more pressure than usual to remove as much of the old stain as possible to avoid the H.O. from having a two toned deck. He tried to explain this to her to no avail, she called the office and spoke with me, calmed down and said she would send me pictures of the deck after it dried, per my request. (She still hasn’t.) By this time the crew was finished, I told them don’t worry about payment and to head to their next job. I left the office to run estimates Friday afternoon and did so till about seven that evening, heading home from there to enjoy the weekend. I found out later she emailed back with concerns of the deck being “fuzzy and splintered” unfortunately I didn’t get this message till later in the weekend. Unbeknownst to me, within four and a half hours of me not calling her back on Friday afternoon she had already given us a negative review on Angies List. I have to think that has to be some kind of a record.. Part of the service she had requested from us, on a contract she signed, under the special conditions section, asked for an assessment on the deck condition due to its age. She specifically wanted recommendations on certain board replacements and the condition of the posts supporting the deck. There were underlying existing conditions with the deck that she was already aware of and concerned with. I like to give people the benefit of a doubt but.. I had several crews out on Sunday, which was Fathers Day trying to get caught up on deck sealing due to all the rain we have had. I dispatched the guys and emailed the H.O. to see if I could meet with her and assess her deck concerns. She responded that she was leaving for the day and wouldn’t be back till late, she also told me she was getting several other estimates to repair the damages. I left, went home and enjoyed Fathers Day with the family. I was in her area yesterday doing estimates and checking on jobs so I stopped by to take a look at her deck and photograph any damage. It was a week day so I thought she would probably be at work but her car was in the driveway and the front door was open, I thought it was my lucky day. After 26 years in business I’ve learned it’s much easier to resolve problems when you get to know someone. Emails are great but so impersonal. I rang the doorbell and the H.O. answered it very angry that I stopped by, said she wasn’t dressed even though the front door was wide open and only the storm door with a full length glass was closed. In 26 years of business that was the first time I’ve ever had a door literally slammed in my face, you have to love the one percenter's! We still love you Angie, Keep up the good work! After meeting with [member name removed] (the H.O.) to inspect the perceived damage and photographing the lack of damage other than normal wear and tear from Mother Nature, I tried to explain this to [member name removed] to no avail. As I was leaving she slammed the door Before I even got completely out, hitting me in the back hard enough to leave a bruise, again, in 26 years of doing Business I have never Been treated so disrespectfully. I’m attaching a copy of the H.O.’s signed contract with her concerns of the age and condition of the deck and requesting additional estimates for board Replacement. We did offer the H.O. a complimentary Deck wash at no charge to try and satisfy her, again to no avail.

As in Baseball, "Three strikes and you are out." The company was recommended by a friend as they have done a great job on their home and had the best price. In early May, I was quoted over the phone and put on the schedule to have our home power washed. The serviceman came out to start the job on the date agreed but could not power wash our home because we are on well water and there wasn't enough water pressure for their equipment. The service man was polite and said they would have to reschedule and bring a water truck. I called the office to reschedule and was rescheduled. I asked why we weren't asked if we had well water when we were scheduled in the first place…..certainly we are not the only customer they have had on well water with low water pressure- this has to be a common issue. I was told that normally people tell them. Really? How would I know I should tell them that???? If their equipment relies on water pressure to operate, that it should be a mandatory question to ask when scheduling a new customer. I let that go and rescheduled for I believe May 22. They said they would arrive between 3-5pm. At 4:10, they called to say that their current job they were doing was going longer than anticipated and they would have to reschedule. I called them back on May 23 to reschedule. The earliest date they had was May 30 - 3-5 pm again. On May 28th I called to confirm. They said they would call again to confirm and they did. But on scheduled date at 4:33, they called again to say they were running late again on another job and would have to reschedule yet again. I told them, "No. We are done." We had already scheduled three times….."3 strikes, You're out." I believe the owner may have called that evening while we were out. We received a garbled voicemail message from someone that apparently was on a cell phone while driving. The background noise was terrible and his voice was mostly garbled so we couldn't understand his name or where he was calling from and much of what he said. However it was apparent it was someone from Affordable as we did understand part of the message where he apologized that sometimes jobs take longer than expected and they have to be rescheduled. The voicemail ended with something about still wanting to do business with us. This is appreciated but to have to reschedule three times is unacceptable. Two key things should have been done to avoid this bad review. 1) Ask ahead of time about well water. And 2) If you have to reschedule a customer, make sure when you reschedule them that you put them on the schedule FIRST so it doesn't happen again. We still have not had our home power washed yet….we are looking for another service provider. If Affordable had offered a discount on the service or offered doing the windows for free or something like that….I would have reconsidered…..as long as they put us on the schedule first of the day of course…...

I love baseball so I can really appreciate our homeowners three strikes and your out analogy. I think we would have gotten along great had we had a chance to get to know one another. She is completely 100% in the right here, the only points I would disagree with are asking every homeowner if they are on a well. We've been in business for over 26 years now with a huge data base of long time, repeat customers. Out of the 300 plus homes we wash each and every year only about 10 to 15% are on wells, out of those that are, only 1% have low flow issues where we need to bring a tanker truck. We try to live up to our name "Affordable" and don't do any bait and switch pricing. We advertise House Washing for $195.00 and thats exactly what we charge, regardless of wether we need a tanker or not. However with the rising cost of fuel and the impact of carrying water on all our trucks would have on our MPG's, it's easy to understand why we don't. As far as the three strikes and your out goes, I'm in complete agreement with her. Due to the busiest spring season we have had since the recession started, her job inexcusably fell through the cracks. Our lead Tech who has been here for over 20 years ran behind on the first scheduled appointment and called to reschedule, the job was set up for the following day first stop as is our standard procedure. Jorge was the lead tech ( The rookie in the company who has only been here 17 years) went the following day, thats when we discovered the extremely low water pressure from the well. This is when the problems started, instead of rescheduling for the next day we went by order of where the jobs fell geographically which is how we normally do it unless there is a rescheduled job to be worked in. Our homeowner (the baseball fan) was scheduled last stop and we ran out of daylight yet again. I can totally understand her frustration, rescheduling twice is an inconvenience but three times is inexcusable. Our office should have offered a discounted service after the first missed appointment, the well problem was beyond our control but there never, ever, ever should have been a third time and for this I truly apologize. We would love the opportunity to bring this "Baseball Fan" into our "HAPPY, SATISFIED CUSTOMER" database.

Where do I begin. The contacts I had were AWESOME. One person in particular in the office was just as pleasant and helpful as ANYONE could possibly be. Oh, and then there is Richard Bond. AMAZING too! These people take great pride in the quality they do and the concerns of the customer. So very friendly and helpful. I can't say enough good things about this company. It's just become in today's world that companies take advantage of others and they do not provide quality workmanship. I wish this company could be cloned for every other company out there. I will spread the word on this company and you should too. I wish this company did EVERYTHING else possible. That way I would get quality work all the time.

My deck hadn't been cleaned for many years. The last company I'd used had complained about how much extra time it took to clean the deck, and charged me more than their estimate for the extra work. They also used a color of stain that I didn't like. So I looked for another company, dreading a repeat experience. I chose AHS initially because I prefer to use local businesses, and they are very close to my home. I called them and was impressed by the friendliness and candor of the office staff. They gave me an estimate that was more than reasonable (actually 2/3 the cost of the same procedure more than five years previously). Their crews came on time, took care of my deck furniture, and answered all my questions. They were polite and professional, and didn't complain about having to take extra time to clean my very dirty deck. Two days later, they applied a sealant that had little color and left the wood looking much more natural. Based on this experience, I would definitely consider AHS for other home improvement work.
Description of Work: AHS power-washed my deck, then came back two days later to apply stain and seal.

After receiving a referral from the Builder of my new home in MD, I contacted the company for an estimate on bi-weekly cleaning for my home. The female rep explained to me that they would come out for an initial cleaning at an hourly rate of $25 per person per hour, and then set a bi-weekly rate for the future appointments. When I asked her the number of people in the crew, and the approximate amount of time needed for my home size, she said I would receive further info when they called to confirm the appointment. I thought it was odd that she could not give me any kind of estimate, and just explained that it would depend on what I had them do. Nevertheless, I didn't think much else about it because they had done a great job for my builder when I moved in to the home. I scheduled the day off of work so that I could be there for the appointment, and today (the day before the scheduled appointment) I received the confirmation call around 9 AM. The woman expressed that the crew would be arriving to my home between 8AM and 11 AM. I asked her about the products that they intended to use, then asked the same question I asked when I made the apt regarding the # of people, an estimate on timing, and tasks. She explained that they would "do whatever I want", and that I just needed to tell "her" when she arrived. I said, "ok, so the timing will depend on what I tell them to do?" She agreed. I then asked, "do you know the number of people that will be in the crew", she answered that 7 people would be coming. I was shocked by that # of people, especially given the $25/hr per person rate. I expressed that shock, but reasoned that it would just mean that they would work faster. The appt was confirmed. At 2:58 PM, I received another call from the same woman, this time she tells me that they don't have room for my appointment the next day. I said, "but we spoke this morning and confirmed the appt." She explained that her manager told her that they "could only do cleanings for the builders tomorrow". I expressed my disappointment that I had already taken off work, and that they were cancelling the day before when I called weeks ago. She just said "Yes, yes, I sorry". I asked if they had another day in mind, and she put me on hold. When she came back she said that they weren't doing residential cleaning anymore, just builders.....I asked to speak with her manager. This is where it all went from BAD to WORSE.....He answered the phone with a gruff ,"how may I help you", when I explained that I was disappointed b/c I had taken off work, confirmed appt this morning, etc. He cut me off and said "well we cancelled because you seemed to be concerned about the pricing and number of people". I agreed and said that given that this was a new home for me I was trying to understand these details when I made the appt., but could not until today. He rudely cut me off and said, "are youokay with the number of people?” I said "Yes I am, but it would have been nice if the initial rep that I spoke with knew that info and was able to communicate it to new customers so they could be prepared." He then said, "well we're really not interested in doing residential cleaning anymore". "Wait", I said, "are you now saying that you can't clean the home, I just said that I was ok with the # of people?!" He said, "Yep", "we won't be cleaning there tomorrow" and HUNG UP! I have never experienced such rudeness from a business. I did not think questions related to the # of people that would be present considering that I'm paying PER PERSON, PER HOUR were unreasonable. Clearly they are equipped for commercial service and are not interested in customers who may ask before they buy....While I'm upset that I wasted a day off and 2 1/2 weeks in time that I could have scheduled with another company, I'm glad that I found out the true nature of this company before we did business together! If they are only interested in commercial service, it would be simple to explain to interested residential customers that they perform residential business in the course of their commercial . And, therefore, the # of people exceeds that of a typical residential cleaning crew. Simple info that could have been shared on the 1st call. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Description of Work: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they are rude, inconsiderate, unprofessional, and dishonest! Cancelled my appointment the day before because I asked about the number of people in their crew!

Even after being in business for over 27 years I'm still not sure how to respond to [member name removed] review. First of all I have no idea why she put this under almost every catagory we advertiise under when it was for a maid service which we don't even do. She did contact us after moving into a new home that was built by a very reputable builder that we have done construction cleaning for over 15 years. From time to time, as favors to the new homeowners who loved the cleanliness of their new home upon move-in, we have and still continue to clean for several of our valued clients. [member name removed] originally called in and scheduled an additional clean with us, these are very detailed cleanings, usually resulting from additional work having been done in the house and the result of the move-in process. She was quoted a price and balked at the number of people on our constuction cleaning crews and the price but scheduled anyway. The day before the appointment, we made our customary courtesy call to confirm the appointment and again [member name removed] complained about the price, number of people, time of appointment etc.etc. After several minutes of her berating one of the office managers, I respectfully declined the job. I saw a zero possibility of making [member name removed] the satisfied customer that we strive to build relationships with. As far as our / my telephone etiquette, [member name removed] version of our conversation was completely embelished to reflect badly upon Affordable Home Solutions. I sincerely hope [member name removed] finds business's in the future that can meet her special requirements.
