Great! Don is a super nice guy, the evaluation was free of charge and he went out his way to even take a quick look at bathroom plumbing that might be involved (he’s not a plumber but crawled around the bathroom to see if there was anything obvious). He put a bead of sealer on the outside base of the bathroom window which showed some cracking. He offered a fair estimate for replacing the bathroom vent pipe in case that could be an issue. No pressure either. I’ll definitely use them in the future (estimates or work)!

I had a leak in my ceiling and several other companies refused to do the work - townhouse, "wrong" shingles, not something that could be worked through homeowners insurance... Don from S&K was FANTASTIC! Looked at the roof, went up into the attic to see where the leak was... very honest, told me I don't need a new roof - just a small repair - which he did right away. Very professional, very honest, very reasonable in cost. I would absolutely recommend this company! Two thumbs up, 5 gold stars!

Working with S&K Roofing was an absolute joy and an experience we would definitely take on again. We worked directly with Don, the President and CEO of S&K for our initial estimate, and after having gone through seven other companies, decided to have all of our work performed by S&K. They offered a fantastic warranty on parts AND labor, and were willing to work within our budget, no matter what constraints came up during the entire process. Don was even hesitant to up-sell us on a lot of things, sensing that we weren't really in the market to break out of our budget. The quality of the goods is top-notch. We're very pleased with all of the Certainteed products that were placed on our home, and the crew that came out to do the work was clean, efficient, and thorough. We love the refresh that S&K has given our house, and would highly recommend them to anyone needing those services in the future.

Josh was fantastic. even before I met him, he was on my roof and calling me with a temporary shingle replacement, the same day he went to look at the damage. Huge relief to get the shingle repaired so quickly. he also gave me a discount because the temporary repair looked so good. Great service. other roofers wouldn't even come out to provide an estimate because they said they were too busy. Don't know what I would have done if Josh hadn't come out.

Once I'd managed to arrange the electric utility shutoff and the electrician (there were wires and cables on two outside walls that had to be taken down, and the delayed that process, but once everything was scheduled for a blessedly dry day, the large S&K crew arrived on time, set up, took all the old siding off and began replacing it. Everyone was considerate and pleasant, and they never stopped working. By the end of day 2, the whole house was re-sided and looked wonderful.

Don has really good people working for him. All of our experiences have been courteous, prompt and reasonably priced. Repairs and insulation work was done within a day or two of calling and the guys were friendly and hard working. They seem mindful about not gauging you and trying to build a positive, long term relationship. Insulation only is priced below.

I was selling a home and the home inspector for the buyer claimed that our skylights were installed improperly. The buyer was seeking thousands to have them replaced and I only had 2 days to investigate the issue. I called probably a dozen roofing companies and many said that they would not repair skylights (they would only replace them). Others weren't able to visit the home in the time required. S&K Roofing went out of their way to come over to take a look and explained that the home inspector was wrong. Although the skylights had tar around them, they were in fact installed correctly. They were even so good as to write this up for me and explain the issue so that I could send it to the buyers, which saved me thousands of dollars. I really appreciate S&K's work in making time for me. They could have just given me an estimate to replace them, but they were honest and told me that there was nothing to be done. S&K is a great company and I would definitely use them in the future.

S & K responded immediately when I contacted them after a wind storm tore off shingles from our roof. They came out and patched our roof right away to prevent any damage from occurring until we could schedule to replace our roof. They did a wonderful job and were very professional and courteous from start to finish. I would not hesitate to hire them again!

Didn’t get past the intake questions. The sales Rep Charlie, was rude and unprofessional. In 15 years I have never had a more difficult conversation with a vender. If he was too busy for my business then don’t pick up the phone!

The work was done in one day and all debris was picked up.

S&K Roofing does such excellent work that this will be a bit long. All three crews did an excellent job and had the same work ethic. They all took meticulous care and were attentive at every step of their work. No shortcuts were taken, so that everything was right about the job. They took obvious pride in doing the job right and were always receptive to any questions that we might have. The result is that everything is solidly in place, as it should be. At the beginning planning stage of the job, S&K did a very helpful review of what was needed to be done to the house. Suggestions, some technical (such as the need for a humidity sensor on the attic fan), as well as others such as, for example, colors (where to use dark colors and even what color combinations to think about) were offered. The result was a stunningly beautiful roof and house. Most amazingly, we have had a number of people, some not known to us, come up to the house to comment on how beautiful the house now looked. S&K has our highest recommendation for the work that they do.

Work was completed as promised and actually a bit sooner than promised, which considering it was done during a time when the number of roof repairs in the area due to a wind storm was very large was surprising.

We had a leak and it was determined that it was coming from a section of siding. The section was replaced and the link was fixed. Color of siding matched perfectly. Another time, some shingles came off during a wind storm. S&K came out first to place a tarp on the damaged area until they were able to return to fix. About a week later, they were back and replaced the missing shingles. The shingles matched perfectly with the original ones.

A chain of events that began with me choosing the wrong shingle color resulted in issues that took a few days to resolve. But S & K did resolve all issues, and for the original quoted price.

S&K showed up bright and early. They moved everything away from the house and literally covered the whole front of the house, bushes and all with giant tarps that extended out onto the lawn, same for the back. They were VERY careful to make sure they left no nails or debris anywhere. They took ALL the shingles they could find from everywhere they could access (there were a lot of shingles laying around from the storm) and they left my yard cleaner than they found it. Hopefully I wont need another roof for 25 years, but when I do, I will definitely call them again. Excellent job from start to finish.

I had an old roof that I knew was coming up for repair on my 1950s rambler. We had a major windstorm here in the DC area that tore off some shingles, so I called S&K and two other firms. Although they were very busy (as were other companies following the storm), S&K had an estimator (Josh) at my house in 2 days and an estimate to me a couple of days later. Josh was very good at answering many questions, and S&K came in at a price lower than others and was even able to add new gutters to my house while still beating others on price. Everything went very well with the job and my roof/gutters look great. Team showed up on time, worked quickly, and cleaned up the yard. The office was easy to contact and they returned calls quickly when I left a message. A very good experience!

Sales rep Josh came for a free estimate. We discussed the project in details and what I wanted to do. He proceeded to do all measurements by hand and then told me that he'll send me the estimate via email in 2 days. After the 2 days passed, he called and said the contract writer was ok vacation and she'll return Monday of this week where he will send me the estimate. it is Thursday and still have not heard from him or the company even after I sent them an email asking for the estimate. Poor communication and business. Not sure how they got all these "A" reviews! this project will go to someone else for sure.

We had a small (less than 3 foot) piece of siding come off one of our dormer windows from one of the storms. Initially, Shane came out and looked at it early one morning, and without even letting us know, climbed up on our roof to fix it (not usually a great idea if a homeowner isn't expecting you). But my husband went out to see what was going on, and we were appreciative of getting it repaired. Shane also said that he wouldn't charge us if we would write a good review for him. Well, the piece came off again before we had written the review. I texted Shane and asked him if he could come out and fix it. We never expected it to be for free in the first place, but he texted me back, 'Have to charge $350 for any service. Let me know if we should send an estimate.' For the the level of repair, and the fact that he DIDN'T fix it the first time around, I believe that is extremely poor customer service. I asked him if he could cut the price back a little since he didn't fix it the first time, and his response was, "Gotta charge this time. Best I can offer. Thanks. We're supposed to charge $425. We fixed it for free already. Have a good weekend." Well, Shane, you didn't 'fix it' the first time. I didn't ask you to do it for free, but I'm not paying such a ridiculous amount for such a small repair. And I certainly won't be calling you OR recommending you for future services based on the way you conducted your business with us. I wouldn't even give you 1 star.

S&K Roofing Virginia replaced the roof on my townhouse and provided excellent service. They were very nice and helpful, answered all my emails, and even made two extra trips to my home to check my attic and double check my roof. They also charged about $2,000 less than what their competitors were asking for the exact same job. I choose the top 3 or 4 rated companies in my area on Angie's List, and then compared prices and how responsive companies were. I'm glad I chose S&K. I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to my friends.

Their crew couldn't have done better. It looks beautiful!! They painted the trim around it, and it just looks perfect. They thoroughly cleaned up, inside and out! Very professional. The roof looks great, and the entire process was smooth and they communicated well with us every step of the way.

They are an excellent company to deal with. They completely replaced the roof. Tommy was available, friendly and even helped us pick out the color of the roof. They arrived when they said they would and finished the job in two days. After the work was finished, they sent a quality assurance inspector out. His name was Sean and he asked if we had any problems or concerns. They raised the flashing around the chimney and made a few adjustments. We felt this was absolutely outstanding service, I feel they really deserve a big pat on the back. From start to finish it was really a first class operation.

The sloping portion of the roof S & K replaced has not been a problem. However, the flat roof work has led to constant problems and additional expense. Not long after the warranty on the flat roof expired, a significant leak developed, which led to water damage in our sun room, including soaking of an expensive white leather sofa. The company indicated a seam in the roof had opened up. They fixed the problem and repainted at no cost, although the color paint we were told to purchase for the job does not match the remainder of the room. Recently, we started having water damage, again, from another portion of the flat roof. S & K inspected it and indicated that it was being caused by problems with the adjacent sloping roof. They quoted a price of thousands of dollars to replace that roof. We sought a second opinion and were advised that the sloping roof was not the problem. The second contractor said the seams along the edges of the flat roof had been sealed improperly and needed to be repaired. The work was immediately accomplished for a minimal fee and we've had no further problems, and saved thousands of dollars for unnecessary work.
