The crew arrived on time and didn't stop until the job was finished. Old gutters and gutter covers were removed, all specified boards were covered with the vinyl coated metal that was meticulously bent and shaped for perfect fit. Cleaned up and it really looks nice. 3 of the guys in the crew reminded me of busy ants, they just STUCK to their tasks!

I found S&K Roofing on Angie's List after Superstorm Sandy blew a few shingles off of my roof. Several companies I called were backed-up because there were a lot of people who suffered damages to their home due to the storm. I called S&K Roofing and they came out within a couple of days and left me an estimate. I called another company in order to get a second estimate. Their estimate was higher than S&K but they noticed that my vent pipe was cracked. That added another $125 to their estimate, which was now double the $275 that S&K estimated. So I called S&K and asked if they repaired vent pipes and they said yes, just add it to the paperwork when you fax in the contract and we will do it while we are up on your roof. There was no extra charge. I set up the appointment and they told me they were 2 weeks out, so I didn't expect them for another 2 weeks. Within a couple of days they called and said they would be out in 2 days to perform the work. Unfortunately, it was rainy with high winds and freezing temperatures on the day of the appointment, so I didn't expect them to come out and get on the roof. S&K called and said they would be there the next day, and they were. What a marvelous job they did. I can't even tell the difference between the old shingles and the new ones. The vent pipe looks new and is well sealed. I am so pleased with the work they did. I definitely recommend them and I'm glad I chose them to repair my roof. What I also liked about this company is that I didn't have to be home for the estimate or the work and the administrative person who answers the phones is knowledgeable and friendly. She handled everything and was helpful. Eric, I believe performed the work. When I spoke to him, he was polite, professional and helpful. An overall great staff.

The way S&K completed the job was fantastic. The entire experience was remarkable to me and the work represents a high level of professionalism and pride in their craft. S & K responded promptly to our call for help. They could have told us that our entire aluminum siding would need to be replaced but S & K examined the damage, and because of their knowledge of past building practices in our area, found that a problem in the way the flashing was installed directed water to the the wood rather then away from the wood. S & K carefully removed some of the existing aluminum siding and saved it. The rotten wood was removed, new boards put in and the original aluminum siding was reinstalled. What a honest and upfront company! The carpenter worked for 2 days, repairing and replacing the rotted wood with the new boards and azek. His care and professionalism is very evident when you look at our house. He examined the window for possible leaks before he finished the work just to make sure all was taken care of. This was the best experience that we have ever had with a company. We look forward to working with S & K again and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Mostly good experience, but new shingles didn't match old ones very well.

S&K came highly recommended by a friend, so I asked for an estimate. It came in at a fair price and the sales rep answered all my questions. I decided, however, not to contract them to install the roof.

The estimator did a thorough evaluation of the problem and made reasonable recommendations. Good documentation was provided. The crew arrived on the appointment day, did the work, and cleaned up. There was minimal debris that fell into the house when the skylights were removed, and no damage to the paint and drywall. I was pleased with the work and will consider using them again.

I found S&K on Angie's List and have been pleased with every aspect of dealing with them. My first call I spoke with the owner, who was helpful and able to coordinate with a sales manager who came quickly to give us an estimate. They were very busy with hurricane damage-related work, however did an excellent job of fitting us in. The actual work took only two hours, and the one-man crew was professional and efficient.

I had three different estimates done. These guys had the best reputation, even with a friend of mine. They worked with my schedule and still ended up giving me the cheapest estimate. The work looks great.

Their price was competitive. The gutter system was one that does not have to be cleaned and it was very high quality. They even gave us a good list of references.

The sellers of the house hired this company to fix those issues they were willing to fix, following an inspection report, but I also paid to have additional issues fixed. The sellers were still living in the house when the work was done, so I can't comment on anything but price and quality (to the extent one can tell when the work is done on the roof). The price seemed reasonable and so far, so good as far as the quality of the work.

OK, Contractor showed up and went on roof of home spot patched one area around ventilation pipe on roof and showed me pictures of work. Gave me an estimate of remaining life of existing roof and approximate cost of new roof.

No services performed. Estimator called days after expected (to make another appt). Said problems with truck, will call back. Called back twice to say had problems with truck. After a month of this, I called S&K to cancel estimate and about my experience and why I'm looking for someone else.

They were punctual giving estimate, after accepting offer and a couple calls I was given a start date. They came out on the day and completed the job in one day. All shrubs surrounding the house were covered and all de bris was removed t the end. They walked around the house and showed me what they did. Everything was done according to the contract. Only complaint was they had to come back and reseal my stack pipe since it was leaking into my basement, they did come out promptly after the storm to fix this. Also, there were quite a few shingles left over that the workers were just throwing away. I paid for those shingles and I wanted to keep some in case they needed to be replaced. Workers should have asked before tossing.

Lost shingles in Sandy. S & K came out the next day and did an assessment of the situation. Turned out we had less than 10 shingles ripped off and they could do the work for less than our insurance deductible. So we signed the contract the next day and they were out within 2 weeks to do the work.

S & K Roofing Siding & Windows Inc were very good. I'm very happy with the work they did. Two contractors came over. They were awesome and did exactly what I told them. The service was good.

After closing on our house we found a great deal of damage that our inspector missed. We got a bunch of quotes to fix the damage as well as also replace the roof, the gutters, and add more insulation to the attic. S&K was by far the best company I dealt with. From the initial estimates to the completion of the work, they helped me through the process the whole time. When they got to the water damage part, Sean recommended I contact the insurance company because the estimate was way short of what the total cost would be. The damage was significant and thanks to Sean, the insurance company covered most of the damage repair and saved me a bundle. I had never even thought there would be a claim there. So big thanks to Sean. Also all the crews that came out while I was there were very friendly and showed me all the work that they had done. They even were nice enough to reschedule a few other jobs to bump mine up after they saw how bad things were. They weren't the cheapest nor were they the most expensive. But I definitely felt that I got quality work for a good price.

The severe storm of June 29, 2012 (Derecho) caused a tree to fall onto our house, causing damage to the roof, its support structure, guttering and siding. Multiple calls to roofers yielded one immediate response, S&K Roofing. They came to put a tarp over the hole in the roof and some days later returned to remove roof insulation that had begun to issue an odor indoors. Normally, the first company to respond, especially under these circumstances, might not necessarily turn out the be the best choice, but one reason for my calling S&K Roofing was the experience of a close friend who suffered a similar calamity a year earlier. Under less urgent circumstances he had used S&K Roofing for his repairs and was most satisfied with S&K's responsiveness, professionalism and pricing. Despite the demand for its services in the wake of the storm, S&K did not try to charge more than it normally would. While I did not seek other estimates, I knew the approximate cost of a roof replacement for my size house. I also knew that State Farm, the insurer, would not pay more than the standard materials and labor rates for my area. S&K did all the work for within the numbers specified by State Farm. More than that, S&K worked with State Farm to iron out a number of disparities in measurements (roof area), and related work requirements for our roof job, in effect going to bat for us. Yes, it helped S&K as well but they did it with professionalism and factual support, which impressed the State Farm claims representative and resulted in quick resolution of the disparities.. S&K is a huge company that can be enormously competitive in pricing, and it knows its products, offers choices and makes practical and realistic recommendations. Indeed, there were 11 S&K employees working on our roof to accomplish a fast and tidy job of old roof removal and new roof installation (with repair of the broken support members). They showed up when they said they would, they finished when they said they would, and they came back immediately after I found some roofing nails on the lawn - running the magnetic sweeper around the entire property to recover any and all errant nails! I have had roof work done in the past by a number of roofers. While there were various combinations of good pricing, professionalism and responsiveness, I must say that S&K Roofers rises to the top as the best of the bunch in all three categories. I would not hesitate to recommend Don and his company to anyone for roof and related work.
