The sloping portion of the roof S & K replaced has not been a problem. However, the flat roof work has led to constant problems and additional expense. Not long after the warranty on the flat roof expired, a significant leak developed, which led to water damage in our sun room, including soaking of an expensive white leather sofa. The company indicated a seam in the roof had opened up. They fixed the problem and repainted at no cost, although the color paint we were told to purchase for the job does not match the remainder of the room. Recently, we started having water damage, again, from another portion of the flat roof. S & K inspected it and indicated that it was being caused by problems with the adjacent sloping roof. They quoted a price of thousands of dollars to replace that roof. We sought a second opinion and were advised that the sloping roof was not the problem. The second contractor said the seams along the edges of the flat roof had been sealed improperly and needed to be repaired. The work was immediately accomplished for a minimal fee and we've had no further problems, and saved thousands of dollars for unnecessary work.

S&K were professional, friendly and prompt. The sales person I spoke with was very helping in explaining our options and didn't use high pressure tactics to sell up-sell me. They were able to schedule our roof replacement at a convenient time for me, and were finished in a day and a half-arriving early each morning and staying late each afternoon. Very pleased with the service and the roof. They also offered a guarantee that trumped all competitors.

They destroyed alarm system, just ripped it out with windows without ever asking if we had alarm system. Completely new system had to be installed and all they would do is subtract 150. Windows were made smaller and never told us. Completely changed look of house which we hate. Front door had to be completely rehung because installer was a beginner and had no idea how to hang door. A year later, it is hanging crooked

This is the third roof that S&K has done for me. Two were on rental houses, and this time on my own home. Their pricing was very competitive, the work was professionally done and they returned to correct a problem the very next day, a Saturday. This is an excellent firm.

Bottom line: S&K was PROMPT, and their representative, Dane, was friendly, professional, and above all HONEST. I had water leaking through my ceiling during a storm. I called S&K and they promptly scheduled an appointment within a few days. My roof is 17 years old, so I was expecting an estimate on a replacement. Instead, Dane inspected my roof and reported that it was in good shape. He found a wiffle ball stuck in my down spout, which was causing water to run down my wall and come through some cracked brick. Dane could have easily played the "fear tactics" angle and sold me a new roof, but instead he was honest. He didn't even charge for the inspection. As a homeowner, the hardest thing to do is find people you can trust with your home, and I have definitely found my roofing company. Hands down, I'll definitely use S&K for my replacement.

The jobs were broken down into three jobs. The 2nd and 3rd jobs exceeded our expectations. There were some minor finishing issues with the 1st job (caulking), which they immediately rectified when brought to their attention. We are very pleased with the work done and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

He was thorough. He went in the attic and he asked a lot of questions. He was there longer than another company. They don't deal with solar companies though. They did not charge me for the estimate. They were an "A" all the way through. I have not received the cost yet.

Separate jobs done by separate crews on separate days. Both crews did an outstanding job, the installation appears first rate. The only issue had to do with some residue from the labels pulled off the skylights prior to installation. The residue was not apparent until sun hit the skylights at a particular angle. I wasn't getting up on the roof to remove it but the crew came back immediately and took care of it. All one can ask. Can't blame the crew for not doing it the first time as it was cold and windy as he!! that day, and the residue was not apparent from a visual ground-level inspection. Both crews arrived on time and cleaned up well when done. No complaints.

Excellent workmanship, crew organization and promptness. Could not ask for better treatment from beginning, thorough discussions with Sales Mgr Mr Abbate and estimate to scheduling to materials delivery and shingle and skylights installation. Mr. Ahn and crew were extremely attentive to all details, including metal flashing at edges, brick flashing at chimney and brick house front, protection of deck and shrubbery and thorough clean up with magnetic rakes to collect any nails or other metallic debris.

S&K installed a new roof on both our house and shed. After obtaining three estimates from three roofing companies, we selected S&K for three main reasons. The first and main reason is our own past experience with them, as they replaced our siding and installed gutter guards several years ago and did an outstanding job. The second reason is that their price was substantially lower than one estimate and lower than the other estimate after a discount advertised on Angie’s list. And, last but not least, the third reason is that, even though we were happy with their previous work on our home, their current rating on Angie’s list was excellent. In addition to our house, we also had them replace the roof on our shed so that it would match the new roof on our house. This was a great decision because our old shed now looks brand new. Similar to the siding job, S&K did an outstanding job on both the house and shed. Everyone involved was extremely responsive, professional, and friendly, including Eric in Sales, Crystal and Mary in the office, and the work crew, who amazed me with their skill, speed, protection of gardens and walkway/porch, and clean-up. Throughout the entire process, I think I had responses to all of my questions within minutes, and believe me, I had a lot of questions, especially for Eric. The work crew finished the house and shed in one day, even though they had to replace several pieces of plywood due to water damage, and they did a remarkable clean-up job. The entire process from the time I contacted S&K for an estimate to the completion of the work went very smoothly. I would give S&K an A+++ rating and definitely recommend them to everyone.

Gary and Steve did a fabulous job replacing old windows. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the windows and their workmanship. They were on time, worked quickly, were friendly and knowledgeable, and cleaned up when the job was finished. I used S & K years ago when needing a new roof and skylights and have them scheduled to return to replace my storm damaged siding. Sean Toms is the S & K Quality Assurance Manager who has provided me with expert advise. I trust his recommendations and have been completely satisfied with the results of each job.

It was 3 part project. They did a great job, arrived on time, completed all the work needed to be done. When a couple issues did arise they were quick to respond to them.

Overall B+, took longer than expected to get the windows from the distributor which caused delays in scheduling the siding work so this job spread out over a couple of months for work that only took a few days to complete. That aside they did a great job on the windows, siding, trim, and gutters. Clean up was good, only a few nails left here and there. They returned promptly for some work that wasn't satisfactory and quickly repaired. Only other complaint was that the dumpster they ordered for siding removal left two huge scrapes in the driveway and some cracks in the driveway where the truck turned around. Otherwise I was happy with the quality, cost and professionalism of their crews. I recommend them to friends.

The process to replace our roof was very well done from the quotation which was very complete to the roof replacement. The estimator listened to our requirements and responded to them. He provided several other suggestions yet did not push with pressure. Very professional. The roofers were also patient and professional. Clean-up was well done. Won't need another roof yet would consider for additional exterior work.
