Rich showed up on time. He looked at the project and went to get the necessary supplies. He removed the old ladder, which had not been properly installed, and installed the new one correctly. It's beautiful and I no longer have a wobbly ladder! Rich was great - I highly recommend him!

Wonderful customer service. The gentleman who came to work in my house had been there before, and I waited for the repairs to get done until he was available. I wish I could say the same for setting up the appointment, since it often takes too long before someone gets back to me. However, the handyman was worth the wait.

Excellent! Will showed up on time the first day and surveyed the three jobs. We had only the tiles and the carousel. He went and procured all other materials needed to complete the job. Then he returned and spent the rest of Day 1 installing the tiles - cutting them to fit the desired pattern in the space we had specified. On Day 2, Will applied grout to the tile pattern since the mastic had dried overnight. While that was drying, he built the frame for the bulkhead on top of the cabinets, attached the MDF facing, and applied compound to any cracks and joints.. Before he left for the evening, he sponged off the tiles leaving a beautiful looking backsplash. On Day 3, Will completed the bulkhead by lightly sanding then painting (we already had the paint to match our kitchen). When the first coat was drying, Will installed the corner cabinet carousel. It worked perfectly when he was done. Then he appplied a second coat of paint to the bulkhead, and cleaned up the kitchen, removing his tools and all remaining debris (wasn't much). Will's workmanship, attention to detail, cleanliness, and overall professionalism is excellent and we are extremely pleased with his work. See attached photo of the tile work, bulkhead, and carousel (in the upper corner cabinet). We highly recommend this company, and Will in particular.

Excellent, the handyman showed up exactly on time and was finished in 30 minutes getting the door correctly aligned. He was an excellent in his skills and personal demeanor; I'd hire him again for any repair on my home.

It was great! They don't come out and give free estimates, but will give one on the phone. They thought it would be a 1-man, 1-day job, but when David came out, he realized it would take 2 men and they would need a scaffolding (based on where the wood was and how large my holly bushes were that are in front of the windows). So he came back another day with help. Both times, he was on time and ready to work right away (they charge per hour). He and his assistant worked nonstop and got the job done in 5 (rather than the estimated 8) hours, thus saving me money! The final product looks great! I had gotten estimates from 2 other places and Handyman Matters was a little bit less. Also, I later noticed that I had not been given the $40 service charge credit from the first time they came out (they said they would apply that to the final bill if I went with them). I called up and spoke to Ruth (I think that is her name) and she had already caught the mistake and had already credited my account the $40. So, I would definitely go back to Handyman Matters. I've found that not all handyman will get back to you, but Handyman Matters always did as I've used their services in the past.

They are like independent contractors there at the company but they have certain employees I guess have certain skills, this guy he was good I just felt that some of the stuff I ask him to do weren't completed some of the corking around the sink wasn't done well.

Handyman Matters of Columbia was great! The estimate that they provided over the phone was pretty much spot on when compared to the final bill. They were extremely communicative throughout the whole process. The gentleman who came out was great - professional, friendly, extremely thorough. I'd definitely use them again if needed.

Kirk showed up early and proceeded to start working immediately. He was very nice man and courteous in his communications and professional in his work efforts. I was very happy with the quality of service and the estimate was nearly perfect...we ran over ten mins. I would definitely seek them out again for handyman related work.

Great job from start to finish. Spoke with Rose on Monday to schedule service for just a few days later, and she provided an estimate on time and price that were spot on. David arrived promptly at 9:30 and finished the work within 3 hours. Initially there was just one panel that I thought needed to be replaced but he spotted damage on other panels and replaced those as well. The price was also very reasonable compared to what I was quoted from other vendors. Overall, I was really pleased with how efficient this process was and the friendly, professional manner of Rose and David.

Great job. Rich is very good. I suspect he can do just about any home job. Very good at what he does! A pleasure to work with. Rose Marie in the office explained everything so we knew what to expect. I highly recommend Handyman Matters for any job around the house!

I called a handyman b/c I have new walls and I didn't want to ruin them when hanging up my pictures. Unfortunately, the handyman wasn't much better at it than me and I was left with unused, mismeasured holes on my wall anyway and I had to pay for them to be there (I could have put them in for free). Even though I was working in the next room, he didn't call me in to inspect a series of three images he was putting up resulting in the top image being put way too high on the wall. At that point, I was done, so he left after patching up the holes he made for the three painting and I now have to touch up paint on the wall. A waste of money overall.

Kirk the craftsman that was sent to me was very professional, punctual, took time to explain what was being done, and took good care of the space he was working in. The original work request involved fixing a small water stain on the ceiling. Upon removing that we discovered the problem was and A/C duct that was disconnected. This involved removing another small piece of drywall and reattaching the vent. The ceiling was then patched. There was also a broken hinge on a kitchen cabinet that needed repair. My first problem was with the amount of time this process took. Things moved very slowly. The first day, a hole was cute where the original leak was. That is all that was done and I was charged $135. The second day a second hole was cut and the vent was repaired. This process involved the craftsman going to Home depot to get extra supplies which took two hours. I was charged for all of this time in addition to the supplies. This is not to mention that some basic supplies were not brought by the craftsman in the first place such as extra drop cloths, a flashlight, a paint tray, brush etc. I would think these would be standard things to have on hand that I would not have to pay for or pay for time for them to be bought. The air vent was fixed and the ceiling was patched perfectly. However the paint that was used did not match the paint that was there, so I am now stuck having to repaint the entire ceiling to match. Lastly the kitchen cabinet was only half finished (a piece of wood was replaced). Due to a hinge being broken and another trip to home depot to only find that they do not carry the hinge, the job was not finished. I had to order the hinge online and will have to finish repairing the cabinet myself. After 3 days of work for 2 simple problems neither of which are completely resolved I was presented with a bill of $1,420. I feel an unreasonably high price for the small amount of (incomplete) work that was done. Had I used another company or even done the work myself, It could have been completed in much less time and expense.

I discovered Handyman Matters on Angie's List. Communication with my contact person was great; however it seemed that pricing was coming from a higher up that was making every effort not to provide the services I needed for their 6hrs at $570 and kept trying to sell me on a full day's package of 8hrs at $729 which was out of my budget. If I was handy enough and had the time I don't see these tasks taking over 4-5 hrs, but I could be wrong. Meanwhile we went back and forth for about a week since I had to reschedule based on manufacturing issues. After further evaluation of what I was asking to be performed, they came back with an adjusted quote of 10-12 hrs. at $900-$1180 ! To me either these guys lack the talent to get the work done seamlessly and efficiently or have an over priced business model. They wasted a lot of my time and are too expensive and overpriced. Buyer Beware...

I had an outstanding experience. The employee, Blaine, called the evening before to confirm his appointment and discuss the details of the job. He arrived the next day, assessed the job and had it completed in an acceptable amount of time. Blaine, was very personable, polite, and most important skilled at his job.

The quality of the work is not it question, I have used the company before and will probably use again because my earlier experiences have been very positive. The technicians were on time and finished close to the estimated given. However on the last 2 jobs, I have had the same technician and why he is very thorough, he is extremely slow. I don't think it should have taken as much time as it did to complete the jobs. The job was estimated to take a day but ended up being 2 days (11.75 hrs, and this does not include the 1.5 hours I was not charged for rework) to install 2 ceiling fans where there was no initial light fixture and switch out 9 old ceiling lights with new ones. charge for 3 hours on the first day. The technician installed both ceiling fans the first day and got one fan completely hooked up and working. He also switched out one of the ceiling lights. However, I still feel that this job took more hours than necessary because of the technician that was sent out. The 2nd day only required that he hook up the electrical components for the already installed ceiling fan and switch out the remaining 8 ceiling fixtures and still took more than 6 hours to complete. The technician slowness results in the higher costs to the customer.

Will did a great job; came on time several different days, worked efficiently, cleaned up carefully. Was pleasant and very skillful. We asked to have him come back in January 2016 to fix a toilet that ran after flushing and again he was efficient and completed the job carefully. Also setting up the visits was easy. Not cheap but worth the cost.

Rich was on time and after reviewing everything I needed done he got right to work. He patched several drywall holes in my ceiling, moved a light fixture over about 6 inches in my dining room, fixed a non-working light in my kitchen, replaced a broken ceramic shelf in my bathroom, and changed out my light switches in my bathroom so that the fan and light are now on two separate switches. He was able to complete everything I asked of him without hesitation. I have an old house with odd wiring and he was able to figure everything out in a timely manner. We had originally estimated it would take about 4 hours so I was able to utilize a half day special. It ended up taking 6 hours because of the amount of work that needed to be done and Rich was really great about calling and making sure he could stay to finish the job while he was in the house. I wouldn't have been upset if he had to come because it wasn't his fault that it took longer than expected, but I appreciated him working to get it all done in the same day. I am extremely pleased with the work he did and I will definitely be calling Handyman Matters and asking for Rich in the future when I have some more handyman needs. My only regret is that I didn't find Rich 3 years ago. :) Highly recommend!! Thanks for the great work!

Will showed up right on time, was very professional and personable, and did a fantastic job on all repairs. HIGHLY recommend. In fact, we'll be calling to have him return and install several replacement windows.

It went very well, considering handyman was left alone a good part of the day, due to a customer emergency. He was thorough and the quality of work was very good. I appreciated their honesty as the work was done as promised. Very productive. I utilized the all day promotional price and I was very satisfied. Rescheduled Rich, same handyman, for further work on March 21, 2016. Again, all day deal.

All services were done to our satisfaction.

Scott did great work. Job was not straight forward. Being a true professional, he presented me with options. After agreement, he proceeded and completed the job in an excellent manner. I would gladly call him again.
