+ -1 moreFor the most part it went well. Well, septic, electricity, plumbing- all fine. The main problem was the AC. He said he wouldn’t test it as there was evidence of water damage in the ceiling. He didn’t inform us that this could be due to leaking refrigerant and the compressor freezing over in a 35 year old indoor unit (mentioned 25 on the report). I feel like it was jus duty to inform us what this could mean on such an old unit. Come to find the whole thing needs to be replaced for $8000 that we don’t have during COVID and now we have to endure the current heat wave with no AC.

Description of Work: Radon inspection. New homes in our small community had pipes placed in homes for radon mitigation when built in 2014-16 but testing not done.

Description of Work: Did a in depth inspection and noted several issues that weren't initially seen when looking at the home. Provided a detailed report upon completion of the inspection as well as an informative book on basic home maintenance. Very pleased, would highly recommend.

+ -1 moreMike (owner and operator of Accuspex) inspected our current home 16 years ago and my father (quite the home improvement expert) was so thoroughly impressed with his work that we were determined to use him again when the time came. Mike gave us a home improvement book all those years ago and I dug through several boxes to find it and his number that was stamped on the front page. The dig was well worth it. He has an online scheduling system and a very user-friendly, informative website. We were operating on a fairly short timeline and he did not have any openings that I thought would work so I emailed him. He called me back within minutes, assured me that he would generate and print out the report the day of inspection and we set up the time. On the day of inspection, Mike was on time and thorough. He checked everything and offered helpful maintenance tips to us for when we owned the house. Luckily, the house was in good shape. Mike inspected everything--he even found a tiny crack in the laundry tub--which we had the sellers replace. His other finding was a light switch in the attic with no cover on it (again, easily fixed by the sellers). He so impressed the sellers that they asked for his card so that they could use him when they found the home that they wanted to purchase. And, he gave us a new home improvement book with advice and tips for a "newer" home. Excellent service, very professional, very helpful! A+++++++
