Started April 2, 2012 and essentially finished May 18 except for back splash installation. Stone is on back order (understand earthquake caused damage to factory). Pete, the site supervisor from Lunberg Builders who coordinated work with the plumbers, electricians, granite installer, dry wall installers and tile installers monitored our project from start to finish. Dennis, the highly skilled contractor assigned to our project, was on the job every day. He handled everything from demolition, rerouting duct work, repair of existing hardwood floor, daily interaction with other sub-contractors, and the installation. The key was Dennis was looking out for us the entire time. We don't believe the job would have gone as well without this daily coordination. The only major problem was the island granite top couldn't be installed without some reinforcement. Mike, our designer and Pete, our site supervisor, came out immediately to develop a solution - steel supports. This worked very well. We have double ovens, cooktop, dishwasher and microwave in stainless steel. We also have high-end cabinets with under cabinet lighting and an external vent over the cooktop, something we didn't have prior to this job! The attention to detail and end product was well worth the time and cost. The new kitchen far exceeds our expectations! When the stone for the back splash finally arrived, 314 Design/Lundberg Builders had their installer on the job within several days; took three days that included 1 day to set before grouting. Sealing was delayed until a week later; scheduling was cited as the cause. The wait for our stone was well worth the wait and glad we didn't settle for something else.
