Description of Work: I used Homechek as a consultant on analyzing some house problems and advising me how to go about engaging contractors & scope of work to address a wet basement wall and leaking roof. Their review was very thorough and professional, and of great assistance in starting me on the road to fixing these problems, which I was then able to do successfully.

Outstanding experience with Lou of Homechek. He walked my husband through the entire inspection from basement to roof and explained his findings along the way. Was able to grade elements for improvement in the home (and quot;soonand quot; to and quot;within a yearand quot; to and quot;somedayand quot;) in a sensible fashion. Always wary of inspectors recommended by realtors, we were skeptical but had a great experience working with Lou and would contact him again without hesitation. Worth every dollar for peace of mind. Highly recommend attending the home inspection, even if you're not construction-minded! A capable home inspector should be able to translate his technical findings into layman's terms.
Description of Work: Lou arrived on time and performed a thorough inspection of the home we're under contract to purchase on Capitol Hill.

Lou showed up a few minutes early for our appointment (we were not there yet) so he began inspecting the outside of the house. Once we arrived, Lou took us through everything in the house and showed terrific attention to detail. For example, he opened every window (to make sure it would open smoothly), tested every outlet, completely checked every appliance, filled every sink to look for any possible leaks, opened all the upstairs faucets and showers to test the water pressure with everything open, checked everywhere for possible signs of water damage, thoroughly inspected the attic and inside of the roof, etc. In addition to his detailed inspection, Lou provided us with clear and practical advice on how to maintain the house and on what to keep an eye on in the future. Overall, the inspection took about 4.5 hours and was well worth the time and money. We will definitely use him again the next time we have to do a home inspection.
Description of Work: Lou Sabatini performed a very thorough home inspection for us for a new home we are purchasing. The price included the whole house and radon inspections for a 6,600 SF home.
