Mark and his team were professional and prompt (when the rain let up!) in providing a high quality project. They listened to my ideas, incorporated their expertise into my plans, and developed a great plan. They prepped the site, did the work, cleaned up, and even re-seeded the HOA property where their equipment dug in the soft, wet ground. I love my patio: it slopes the water away from my foundation, keeps the mud from the erosion between townhomes from washing down onto my area, and looks amazing. I've gotten many compliments already, and trust me, it's going to increase the property value when it comes time to sell.

I was on a time crunch and they were able to squeeze me in. The crew of 3 men showed up promptly, and was able to complete excavate the 4 old buried drain pipes and reinstall new pipes quickly. They also solved a small grading issue on the side of my house for me. All dirt was replaced, and the disturbed areas were seeded and look great now. Finished in about 7 hours from start to finish.

Mark, the owner, was punctual and professional. The lead up to the contract went smoothly with good phone and email communications. Work began on time in August and the project was completed in the agreed upon time. We were most impressed by the work crew. They were extremely hard working (adapting to rain and continuing work through summer showers) and courteous. They started at 8 AM and ended at dusk. The quality of the workmanship was excellent. After the patio/fireplace was completed, the lawn was re-seeded; two months later there are no signs of the work having been done.

Arrived on time worked long and hard and finished ahead of anticipated time. I highly recommend them!

We contacted East Coast Landscaping after other contractors did a poor job with a retaining wall. they came in, gave a quotation, and came up with a good design, worked with available materials and budget. Their pricing was competitive, but their expertise was superlative. I would highly recommend for hardscaping projects.

Mark developed a hardscape and landscape plan for us and was very responsive to our ideas and suggestions. His estimate was competitive with or lower than others we received, and once we were ready to begin work, he was able to schedule us within two weeks. His team was prompt, professional, courteous, and worked hard, long hours. They finished extensive hardscaping, including a retaining wall, in a matter of days, and always left the worksite tidy. Neighbors constantly mentioned how impressed they were. Pavers, bed building, and tree planting came next and was similarly done in an efficient and professional way. They provided same-day responses to any concerns we raised. Can't recommend this team highly enough!

Angie asks me how it went and it didn't. This - reviewing landscapers and then settling with East Coast Landscaping, trying to reach Katie (whoever she is), not receiving a response from Mark himself, the owner; it's all very disappointing. And why is that? My yard is just too darn small to warrant any help or expertise or so it appears to me. According to Katie, there's a $3,000 minimum on EC services. I don't believe I noticed that being on their website. Oh, but a phone consultation can be provided at the availability of the owner. A slight pause with Katie as I rationalize what just went down. Your lawn is too small and I've got bigger fish to fry.

Have only had one application so it is hard to make a complete judgement. I will re-evalvaluate at the end of the season. So far everything has been great.

My project was a large erosion control and slope stabilization project. I am very happy with the resulting retaining wall, multi-level patio, safety railing and the rocks and plantings that were used to fill in the eroded area of my property. I wanted the erosion control and retaining wall. I got those and more. I have a beautiful, functional outdoor living space. The crew had a good eye for the aesthetic aspect of the design on top of their technical construction knowledge. They protected my existing lawn so that it survived multiple bobcat trips carrying loads of block, rock and fill. I highly recommend this company.

It was excellent!!!!! The only thing that took the project 2 weeks longer was the DCRA inspection process which DC reaidence know is a head ache in itself. We are hiring them again to donour patio and firepit along with another time to do our walkway to the front door and porch. Excellent company service and employees. Worth every penny knowing they did a solid job that will not ever fail when completed.

Mark was hands on from the start. He quickly provided a quote for the work, and he assigned resources to the job as soon as the contract was signed. He consistently responded to every call / text within 24 hours. I was also impressed with the effectiveness and quality of work done by the workers. It was clear that they've done many of these type of projects before. I quoted this work with three other contractors and none were able to commit to doing this work as early and as quickly as East Coast Landscape Design. The price that East Coast Landscape Design quoted was also competitive considering the scope and when compared to the other contractor's quotes. I've yet to see how well the drainage works under rain, but I'm confident that it will work well based on the attention to detail of the crew.

I've yet to see how well the drainage solution responds under a heavy rain, but I'm confident it will do well considering the attention to detail of the crew.

Felt like I wasted a phone call speaking to the receptionist who could not answer my questions, then wanted to have me pay $150 to get an estimate!

We could not be more pleased with every aspect of the project. There are not many Mark Simpson's out there! His breadth of knowledge, genuine interest and responsiveness made the project a pleasure. We kept changing our mind about the project. Mark would come to the house and have a new plan drawn up within a few days. Unlike some owners, during and after the project Mark stayed in close contact. The gentlemen who completed the project were also very knowledgeable, very competent and worked incredibly hard. They even suggested a slight change in the design of the wall which turned out to be a great idea. Overall, we are very pleased with East Coast Landscaping. We plan to continue working with Mark for additional post-project landscaping.

They came in at about average. They were responsive, they answered my calls and showed up for the estimate on time. They were very professional. I ended up doing the work myself.

The two crews that worked on the project continuously worked hard every moment they were on the job. You could see that they took pride in their work and were highly knowledgeable of each aspect of the project. We were also impressed as to how long some of workers have been working for East Coast. It was a very pleasant experience and a thrill to see how the project has transformed the look of our home.
