I provided Mr. Zapata my inspection report dated 09/03/2019 for the recent purchase of my residence in Silver Spring, MD. Mr Zapata stated that I needed a new garbage disposal per the inspection report. I had to supply and pay for the garbage disposal separately; and labor via Venmo. However, page #11 of the inspection report stated that “the average life span of your disposal is 8 to 10 years”. Previously, the garbage disposal was working fine per the inspection report, rendering this service unnecessary. Second, I paid Mr. Zapata to insert gutter guards and clean all gutters. I paid for the gutter guards separately from the labor, which was paid via Venmo. Unfortunately, the gutter guards fell off some of the gutters, while others were sticking up and misaligned. Mr. Zapata hired a sub-contractor to perform this work. Subsequently, I texted Mr. Zapata several times to return and fix the gutters and insert the remaining gutter guards near the rear patio area. However, Mr. Zapata requested extra money for this service. I emphasized that he was already paid. Consequently, I had to hire another contractor to undertake the gutter repairs and finish the installation of the gutter guards. On a previous occasion, I also hired Mr. Zapata to remodel and update the first floor ½ bathroom of my residence. Again, I paid and supplied the materials; while labor was paid separately via Venmo. The job was poorly done requiring a second contractor to repair and fix this bathroom. In addition, I have asked him repeatedly to provide me with the original key for the smart lock to my front door and the code to a key lock box located on my front porch that he installed. Again, I have not received a response. In addition, I gave Mr. Zapata approximately $1500 in Home Depot gift cards to purchase various home improvement items for me. Unlike a real contractor, Mr. Zapata simply will not combine the material/supplies with the labor. I have asked Mr. Zapata for the receipts of these items repeatedly and he has declined to provide them. I find it suspicious that on numerous occasions, Mr. Zapata requested payment for labor separately via Zelle, Venmo, and PayPal; while always requiring me to pay and supply materials for any task performed. I can only surmise that Mr. Zapata is intentionally trying to skirt the line between criminal and civil charges due to the current state labor laws. I highly recommend that those wishing to hire someone for home improvement services check the Better Business Bureau (BBB) database for complaints; state licensing board for disciplinary action; and any consumer protection agency for complaint history. The BBB revealed a similar complaint from a customer complaining about a dishwasher repair that was not completely resolved. Mr. Zapata told the owners that it was functioning normal and they didn't know how to use it and refused to provide a refund. Subsequently, the owners hired another contractor, who advised the owners that the dishwasher was in disrepair; however, it was more cost-effective to install a new one.

To Whom may it concern; I am Responding back about these matter I will start off!!!! By saying that he had lied to every word he had wrote down. Mr [Member Name Removed] contacted me almost a year ago to make a few repairs at his resident, I was very clear and, had told him that I didn’t have any type of license; but that I did had an experience, and he told me that he would help me to get the license , Mr [Member Name Removed] had offered himself to help me out to register, and open my bussines, I agreed (without knowing his intention, of course taking advantage of someone who didn’t know anything about it). After He finished the process and, all paper work, He told me that He wanted 10% of the company and not just the 10% He was going to be the second owner of the company, I told him that I was going to think about given him the 10%. Mr [Member Name Removed] register and open the business under my name; but also without letting me know He had assigned himself as a second owner, after I reviewed the company’s paper work I had realized that Mr [Member Name Removed] assigned himself as a owner too !!, so I told Him that I was not going to give him the 10% of the company ,because it was a small bussiness. Mr [Member Name Removed] has writing that several repairs were not necessary (BUT WHY WOULD YOU CONTACT SOMEONE OR A COMPANY IS YOU KNOW THAT THOES REPAIRS WERE NOT NECESSARY?!!!) Mr [Member Name Removed] has not contacted me about the repair that he claimed saying that I didn’t do it correctcly. Every time I completed a job he inspected before making any payment. Mr [Member Name Removed] also mention about a ( home depot gift card) “receipts” which I did provide to him, Mr [Member Name Removed] told me to leave the receipts on top of his office desk and I did; Mr [Member Name Removed] talks about payments!! Of course that whoever provide service, ETC they provide different ways of payments specially went the client is not in the house. I want to explain a little bit about why Mr [Member Name Removed] is trying to damage my carrier, Mr [Member Name Removed] filled a dispute with Paypal; PayPal contacted me about the matter and PayPal requested proof of everything and I did sent all proof after couple month of investigation, and Me providing receipts I won the case with Paypal; Mr [Member Name Removed] also wrote to BBB (Better Business Bureau), and filed a complain, and refund on everything he paid me, after couple month of investigation I won the case. Also Mr [Member Name Removed] had gone around the wedside writing bad comments and reviews about me, saying a telling lies, Because Mr [Member Name Removed] lied, something he’s doing now lying, and trying to damage my reputation and my company’s name, hopefully Mr [Member Name Removed] stop with his evilness over humble people.

Pablo Zapata did an excellent job on August 8 in diagnosing why the oven hasn't been working properly, i.e., there was no connection between the "Bake" knob, temperature selection know, and what actually happened in the oven. Pablo figured out the problem and arrived at a creative solution. Would definitely call him again.
Description of Work: Repair of oven. Temperatures were way off kilter.

Pablo is a paragon of professionalism. He was able to come earlier than originally promised. He figured out the fridge problem was an electrical issue and fixed that as well as setup the water/ice that was not connected. He explained everything he did and was efficient in fixing the issue. I would recommend his services to everyone (and I am very picky about it).
