Hyman Electric is punctual and does good work. Bill is very customer-focused and does what he can to make sure you're happy with the job. I'd use his company again.

They identified and fixed a potential fire hazard done by a previous contractor. They were punctual and professional. They explained what they were doing as they proceeded and completed the work in a timely manner.

I was very, very impressed with Mr. Hyman. He immediately responded to my email inquiry and called the next morning to assess the situation. He knew, from the get-go, this may not lead to a paid work, but took his time to explain what he does and suggested solutions to a particular electrical issue. I just got a feeling that he is a real professional and loves his trade. I am going to call him for all electrical work in the future.

I used them and they are great. I have a lock box. They are honest and my lights went out in a storm and they came and fixed it. They had also put up some security lights up for me. My neighbor called me and told me that my house was dark and I called them and they came and did it. I emailed them and told them what the problem was. We have a very good relationship and have worked with them since 2010.

Ours was a very simple electrical issue so it wasn't a complex job but I was impressed with the ease of using Hyman Electric. It was easy to schedule an appointment (they were flexible) and very responsive. They gave me options - kept me informed and the service repair guy called when he was on his way. The repair was simple and working with Hyman Electric made it even better!

Fan installation was speedy and professional. They had extra spare parts that i was missing and knew exactly what they were doing. Price quoted to run a dedicated line was too high for me as they would have had to run it along the ceiling.

Bill Hyman and his team are terrific. Bill took the time on the phone to discuss all our electrical needs and to then send a very well qualified electrician out to our house to review our service panel and take care of a few other electrical needs. Once they reviewed the need to upgrade a very old service panel I was provided a detailed estimate with an Angie's list discount. I had a trusted building contractor review the estimate and they felt it was a very good estimate, priced competitively, and very complete. The work was done in an efficient and timely manner. The crew were fantastic. We discovered an issue while conducting the service upgrade that required Pepco's attention. They advised me to call Pepco directly and Bill personally followed up with Pepco and ensured that the problem that included a safety issue was dealt with right a way. Were it not for Bill's outreach, I do not think we would have received the service needed so quickly. As you can tell, I was very pleased and impressed with Hyman Electrical Contractor and would highly recommend them.

The best part is they know how to diagnosed problem and to fix it quickly. The second part is they're expensive. I would use them again in the future.

I called Bill after our electric informed us that we needed a heavy up at our home. Bill immediately responded and did a Google map of our house to assess the situation. I sent him pictures of our fuse box so he could get a sense of the work needed. This process was extremely convenient because he did not have to physically come to the house to provide a quote, which expedited the process. Bill then emailed me a quote the same day, and let us know exactly what he would do for the heavy up, including getting the permit, scheduling the inspection and contacting the electric company to do their follow up work. After getting several estimates, which were similar to Bill's, I decided to contract Hyman because of the responsiveness and his overall professionalism. He was in constant contact with me before the service was performed to let me know what exactly would happen. The day of the project his crew arrived promptly and were extremely courteous and efficient. They got straight to work, and communicated with us to let us know when they would be turning off the electricity, and although we just met, they made us feel comfortable and were very trustworthy. The project took a little less time than we thought and the crew was very thorough and did an excellent job. There were also no surprises with the price of the job. Bill followed up by communicating with me when the inspector would be at our house and that process also went very smoothly. I was extremely impressed with Bill, his crew, and the process from beginning to end. I would definitely hire Hyman for any other electrical work we need in our home.

When I called Bill at Hyman Electrical, we had just had someone steal from our car the night before. I was very anxious to have a motion sensor light installed as quickly as possible and Bill very graciously offered me an appointment the next day which I thought was a small miracle and very much appreciated! Jeremy and Mike arrived promptly and spent several hours installing the light and kept me informed about the process. They did a great job and were so gracious when I ran out to their truck, after they were completely finished, ladders packed up and everything, about to drive off, to ask them to change the settings on the light. They were so nice about it! We have used Hyman Electrical before, both for emergencies and for upgrades, and are always consistently impressed with their service. We would not hesitate to use them again and would recommend them to everyone in this area.

I thought the work in the skylight was going to be quite tricky since it was at the top of a 13 foot cathedral ceiling, and I could not figure out on my own the proper place for relocating the fire alarm. However, Jeremy had no problem at all in figuring out the placement, and quickly performing the job. I was impressed by his competence and ability to figure out a solution so quickly. The entire job took less than 45 minutes. When I asked about a discount for my using Angie's list, Jeremy waived the $75 service charge. The overall price struck me as quite fair. Given that I had anticipated a difficult job, I felt that the price charged was quite reasonable; it was not the type of job on which I would have gone with a low bidder.

The interaction with Bill was informative and professional.

They didn't give me a breakdown of what they were doing and why I was having the outage. I'm still having the same problem because they didn't do a complete survey beforehand, they only upgraded the entire electrical box. Hyman Electrical contractor did an efficient and professional timely job in installing the new box and electrical wiring in 8 hours.

Spoke with Bill. I told him I wanted to install an electrical outlet under my kitchen sink to plug in an insinkerator disposal. He quoted me an over the top price of $800.00. My first thought was oh how glad I don't live in a one-horse town where he's the only electrician.

This is the third time I have used Hyman Electric. Bill Hyman cares about his customer's and their satisfaction and safety. While not the least expensive electrician out there; the money is well spent. I am always confident that my family is safe and that the work was done to code. Jeremy showed-up promptly after calling me to give me an ETA earlier in the day. He got right to work and changed the fixtures in short order. He cleaned-up each area and was organized and efficient.

These guys are great. From the moment we submitted the request for quote, Mr. Hyman followed up. I sent him pictures to his mobile phone and he gave me a quote. We were able to schedule the appointment the next week. When one suggested time did not work, Mr. Hyman worked around my schedule. On the day of, I received a message that the technician would be here in approximately 45 minutes. He was on time, courteous, friendly, and very professional. It was a very nasty, rainy day so he wore shoe covers every time he came in the house from outside. The work took about 3-3.5 hours and they did an amazing job of avoiding having to tear out much drywall. In fact, Jeremy (the technician) cut the drywall so cleanly that he was able to put the pieces back into the wall where they are just awaiting a minor job of cleaning up the drywall. These guys are great and I highly recommend them. They're prompt, efficient, knowledgeable, and considerate. They also have pride in their work. You don't see that much around this city.

Bill & his team were great. Bill is extremely knowledgable particularly with older houses such as ours (1920's). Team was done half a day as a snow storm was starting, left no mess, and were very diligent in checking every aspect of their work. Because of the weather, Pepco did not show up for their appointment to sign off on the work but Bill was diligent in rescheduling as quickly as possible. We definitely plan to use Bill & his team for future electrical work.

The providers were very thoughtful and very accommodating. One of the light controls had to be replaced and they took care of that. Most recently the one that's been replaced has broken down so we have to get in contact with them again. However, the work has been really really good. I think that they're price is comparable. I think they're right at the prevailing price line. They don't overcharge for sure. They came within a day to take care of the installation.

They did a great job. The inspection went great and they said Hyman did a great job. We have had no problems since.

When I called and spoke to Ashley she was polite and was able to get an appointment for me very quickly. I also spoke at length to the owner, Bill, on the phone about what needed done and he was friendly and very helpful. He gave me recommendations on what type of lighting to use and we were able to make an appointment for the electricians to arrive that same week. On the day of the appointment, the electrician, Jeremy, called to let me know he was on his way. He arrived right on time. He was a super nice guy and did the work quickly and professionally. I am extremely pleased with the level of service that I received and had great interactions with everyone at Hyman Electric. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone. Also, I think the price is fair considering the amount of time spent completing the job.

I hired Hyman electric several years ago to wire three bathrooms and was extremely impressed with the quality of that work, so I called Bill to see about coming out to trouble shoot an unrelated issue with dimming of the lights throughout our house. Bill was kind enough to talk with me for about 30 minutes and after describing the problems, he suggested I call Dominion power to check grounding of the neutrals at the pole and at my meter. Sure enough, Dominion came out, found that the neutrals were loose BOTH at the pole AND at my meter. After tightening the connections, the problem was resolved! I'm grateful to Bill for taking time to point me in the right direction without incurring ANY cost and would highly recommend Hyman electric. I know I'll be using him again in the future - THANKS BILL!!!

Bill Hyman and his team were great. When our lights starting dimming randomly, we called electricians looking for someone with availability. Bill found someone to come look that same day (Friday) and they were able to complete the upgrade on Monday. The electricians were prompt and polite and completed the work very professionally despite the fact that it was pouring. Bill also helped follow up with Pepco to be sure they came to complete their part of the work. Would definitely recommend them!

Moved to the Silver Spring area last month from PA. Had no way of getting references for service except Angie's List. I found Mr. Hyman read the reviews and selected to install a 220 line for a washer a bought. They were prompt fast and fairly priced. Work was completed efficiently and they even changed the prong to 4 prong for the county code. I next had them out another time to replace an outdoor fixture with a motion sensor fixture and to replace a dining room fixture. This experience went equally well. They replaced items efficiently, cleaned up after themselves and were courteous and polite. I would definitely use them again. While they may not be the cheapest, they perform good work, up to the county code and stand by their work. This is well worth the money when you are talking about electrical repairs!

Performed a Heavy Up, converting the old electrical fuse box upgrade to my old home. Great work, thoughtful, courteous, and a joy to work with.
