Hyman responded quickly, and 2 electricians (Alec + Byron) arrived on time, and worked in a professional manner. They were flexible to our schedule + needs, and completed the job(s) in a timely + efficient manner.

A house inspector discovered a hazardous condition where the main power comes into the house; literally sparks were firing. This was Dec 21st, the day before a big holiday weekend. We called Hyman's, and on the phone they said they were "closing up for the holiday", but they recognized the urgency and said they would help that day. (They were the second electrical company we called, the first said they couldn't get to it for another week!) Hyman's had a man out to the house within a couple of hours and fixed the problem immediately. Needless to say, we then could rest easy over the holiday week.

The project went very well. Bill Hyman gave me an estimate over the phone -- I was in the kitchen measuring and he calculated the estimate and ordered the lighting. When the lighting came in we set up an appointment. The electricians phoned me on the day of installation to let me know they would be a bit late (1/2 hour). The two electricians were very friendly and professional. They reviewed with me the work they were going to do and answered several questions I had before they started. They asked me where I wanted the switch, etc. They were very neat and clean in their work --totally cleaned up the job when they were done. The job took about 3 hours and I am very pleased with the outcome.

Alec arrived promptly and did the work in a professional, timely way. In this day and age, security is a big concern -being a woman home alone while people come in and work in/on the house is something we must all think about. Alec was a skilled and trustworthy professional. I would definitely recommend this company and will call on the again.

Service was wonderful. We called Hyman and left a message on Sunday. We got a call back first thing Monday morning. Service technicians were prompt and courteous and patiently explained the problem and how they would correct it. We also asked about possibly replacing all the outlets (they've never been updated in our 40 year old house). They were very good about honestly telling us when and why an outlet would need to be replaced. We were happily surprised that they didn't try to convince us that we needed to replace them all immediately.

The electricians showed up on time. Jeremy was the lead electrician. He explained exactly what he was going to do, and gave me specifics on the cost of the different projects. The three replacements were standard and simple to do. He charged me by the quarter-hour for that work. He then gave me an estimate for the new motion detector install - which was right on. He let me know when the job went from per quarter-hour basis to flat rate (for the install).

The estimate was provided quickly and the work was begun and completed as scheduled. The crew was polite (actually quite funny) and accommodating. They even said that they would provide me power so I could work on my computer while they worked. Bill Hyman is knowledgeable and great to deal with. He was even willing to delay billing me for part of the work (though I ended up not having to do that). He called after the work was done and offered to come trouble shoot if I had any problems. I would recommend him to anyone (and have already).

Hyman were very responsive in both cases scheduling an appointment for within 24 hours. The electricians arrived on time and were very professional. The work was not particularly complex or difficult, but they worked quickly and efficiently, and left no mess. As a bonus, they were very willing to let me (a B- handyman) observe and learn a bit, which I appreciate. I've only been a homeowner for a few years, but they were the best I've dealt with in terms of answering the phone, returning calls, scheduling work, and arriving on time. It's not rocket science and every company should be able to do it, but if you've spent half a day waiting for the cable/pool/electrical/roofing/tree/lawn guy who never shows up, you know how helpful that is. I haven't graded them on cost, only because I haven't had enough electrical work done to compare, though in both cases they explained to me ahead of time how they billed and what the costs would likely be (both accurate).

We were very pleased with every aspect of our interaction with Hyman Electric. They: 1) came to give us an estimate in a timely manner, 2) underbid other contractors who indicated that the work required was very complex, 3) did a fine and professional installation, and 4) the electrician who did the installation was very courteous and accommodating, even put in a new bulb in a fixture over our stairway. We would give them an A+ on every aspect of this job.

Fabulous! Bill Hyman was very accessible during the estimate and proposal process. Plus, Bill even took a call from my father who knows electrical work to review the proposal prior to starting the job. On day of service, the crew was great - very personable.

Mr. Hyman came out to inspect the site and made an estimate for the work within a day. I originally asked for a larger and more expensive service, but Mr. Hyman reviewed the actual power demands and showed me that a less expensive setup would be fine. He scheduled work for a few days later. His associates arrived on time and worked efficiently and cleanly. The inspector (arranged by Mr. Hyman) and I were impressed with the quality of the installation. Pepco took about a month to finish the connections.

I spoke with Bill Hyman personally who answered the phone about my situation. No they aren't licensed in Prince George's County, but he gave me tons of helpful advice for my problem and was really down to earth and pleasant to deal with. He welcomed me to call back if needed. Although he knew he couldn't do the work for me he took the time to help me out, which he surely did not have to do. If I'm ever in an area he services I wouldn't hesitate to call on him, but for now the least I could do is recommend to those who are in his servicing area. Great guy.

One evening we had to call the fire dept. After burning was smelled in one room. Fire department a noted bad switch. We called Hyman Electric next day. First problem was solved and further work was discussed for safety reasons. Subsequent work completed efficiently and neatly. The 'team' worked very well together and Mr. Hyman stopped by at least twice to check on work. All communication was fabulous.

We are very happy with Hyman Electric. This wasn't the lowest quote we received but it was comparable. We choose Hyman because of the great reviews we'd read and as an added bonus Mr. Hyman is a nice guy. He was professional, prompt and gave us some good advice as he walked through the house. He was able to have a team start the job just a few days after our initial meeting. The men who were on-site to do the work were also very professional. They took time to explain to my husband what they were doing and they cleaned up after themselves. We plan to use Hyman for more work in the very near future.

Bill Hyman personally came out to give me an estimate. He listened to what I wanted and had good suggestions. His crew came on time, were very friendly and competent. They took extra care not to disturb the newly landscaped area they needed to work in. A professional job, done right, by nice people, at a fair price makes them easy to recommend.

Great! Jeremy was right on time and very professional. He took great pride in his work. He replaced wiring and had all my outlets and lights running again. Jeremy left the house just like he found it. I highly recommend Hyman Electrical.

This guy is great!! I was a Saturday and a whole section of the lights in my house were out. I had tried to reset the circuit breaker with no luck. I have a little knowledge about electrial stuff so I figured this was something more serious than reseting the breaker. I called him but since it was Saturday, he could not send anyone out until Monday. He asked me to go to the control panel and said that he wanted to take me through this step by step. I kept cutting the phone off and he would just call back. He had the patience of Job and was very professional. He solved my problem over the phone. I would highly recommend him!!! I tried to get him to send me a bill and he refused. I give him an A+.

It went pretty well. Crew of two arrived on time and were both friendly and easy to work with. They converted 2 prong to 3 prong, installed a new outlet, and lighting fixture in shop area. Installed outdoor outlet, and fixed a three way bathroom switch.

Alec and his assistant Alan arrived on time and couldn't have been more professional. They worked meticulously and explained everything to me in patient detail. They finished in no time. This is one of the most positive experiences I've had with repair/installation.

Excellent service from start to finish. Bill Hyman was accessible and helpful by phone to discuss and set up appointment, and was flexible about scheduling. The electrician who came was knowledgeable, efficient, and effective. Electrician had to cut drywall, but reinstalled pieces so our patching work won't be a huge job. Electricians are expensive, but the price seemed in line for 6 or so hours of work.

Three man crew arrived fairly near the time they were scheduled to arrive. They did a run through of the house to see where electricity was to be provided. They estimated we would be without electricity for approximately six hours. Work crew completed the job almost exactly within the specified time frame. Crew cleaned up work area then explained how the breaker and generator boxes worked. They answered all my questions and were extremely friendly. Mr. Hyman came after the job was completed to do a follow-up. Overall extremely pleased with the work performed and the price charged was very competitive with other estimates. Would recommend to anyone; in fact will probably have them back to do some additional electrical work.

( JOB 1) Listened and diagnosed problems before coming out thus saving money and time. Had materials with them. I don't like switch dimmers (too small and awkward) and prefer decora, so would recommend they figure out some way to have such materials which will withstand travel. Polite, punctual, experienced and competently answered all my concerns, questions. Typical price: $75 to come, $165 an hour. ( JOB 2) Experienced another leak through bathroom lights from AC failure. Had to call back roofers, painters, AC repair, but not Hyman Electric, due to the excellent quality of new lamps they installed, the lights survived! Noticed the firm doesn't service foggy bottom anymore. Such a pity! Was it something I said ?

The electricians working on the house were extremely professional. They were patient when answering our many questions. In addition the renovation was made more difficult because my wife and I were living in the house. The electricians went out of their way to ensure we always had temporary power.

Bill Hyman was very professional in providing this service. I am fully satisfied with the work done.
