Very responsive company - the owner answers the phone! He also called us back when he could schedule a visit (we did not have to call him again). Electrician, Jeremy, arrived right on time, was very professional and knowledgeable. He also was very honest stating the reasons we really did not need an attic fan. I appreciated his honesty and directness. I would definitely use Hyman Electric again and would refer them to others.

After this initial experience with Hyman Electric, the company will be our first choice for electrical services from now on. Here's what I appreciated: I didn't have to leave a message and wait for a callback, but talked directly to Bill Hyman, who answers the phone himself; service was prompt, with a replacement part procured and an appointment scheduled within 2 days of my call; electricians Jeremy and Kevin arrived punctually and Jeremy carefully set about removing the old, stubbornly stuck, faulty socket and replacing and wiring the new one.

good service, tech show up on time as scheduled and courtesy and professional; however, I feel that I was way over charged ($425) for installation of one GFI outlet and light switch with existing electrical already ran.

The circuit panel in my home caught fire (scary, I know). I called several companies to request a few quotes. I got an immediate response on Friday, and the circuit breaker was replaced the following Tuesday. Bill impressed me as a responsible, knowledgeable contractor. The quote he gave us was on target given the complexity and urgency of the work that needed to be performed. Based on my experience, I recommend using this contractor.

Electricians were clean, used shoe covers and drop clothes. Work was meticulously performed. They were extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and came 3 hours after I called. Price was good and they gave me a free electrical box inspection. Would highly recommend.

Very well. I first contacted Wilcox Electric, as recommended by Angie's List, but they referred me to Hyman which is closer to me and could probably get out to my house sooner. Wilcox was correct. Hyman took care of my request in a timely manner.

As the thermometer soared in the high 90s, Hyman responded within hours, They found the problem--two of the main wires had been stripped during installation and they were so hot they were smoking! Jeremy professionally spliced both damaged wires before the worst days of heat wave hit.

The team was able to come to my house today and fix the problem in a few hours. Over the weekend I found that the circuit for the refrigerator and oven would not return to the ON position after placing it in OFF. They put some silicone in the outside tube to keep water out of the electrical box and replace a circuit. They confirmed that the electrical box was configured properly and standard for a house my age. They were thorough, thoughtful and fair, letting me know they were going to troubleshoot and find the cause of the issue. They recommended a dedicated circuit for my refrigerator which I will schedule with them later. I confirmed that the price quotes they provided were reasonable on the internet.

This was our second time hiring Hyman Electric, and we could not be happier. We brought them back to our house after they did a great job on a heavy-up last fall. Bill's team, which consists of Jeremy and Kevin, did a fantastic job with difficult conditions. This job required a lot of planning and problem solving as they tried to move power sources and install junction boxes. They were able to install lights in three locations where they did not exist. At at least one location, they even corrected a serious code error for the one of the boxes. Their work was very clean, which minimized the amount of collateral work needed (whenever you need to fish wire, expect a few dry wall holes to help get the wire where it needs to go). Wherever they cut drywall, they made sure to save the pieces and re-install them in the hole. Jeremy is extremely thorough, and he takes the time to consult us on some of the most important minor details. For example, when we asked to have a wall sconce box re-routed to a ceiling junction box for a chandelier, Jeremy made sure to consult with us on the placement of the box before installation. He also offered great ideas and options on the project. Though a seemingly small gesture, we recognize that lots of technicians might just go ahead and install a box where they think is the right location without seeking any input from the client or providing any advice. I strongly recommend Hyman Electric to friends and family without any reservation, and I will be sure to call them again in the future if I ever have additional electrical needs.

Called Hyman Electrical on a Wednesday and the crew was there early Thursday morning (after calling ahead) to perform the work. Electricians were pleasant, businesslike and left absolutely no mess when the project was completed. Ahead of time, I had covered a couch and moved a few small pieces of furniture. Crew also covered the couch and the floor in the area where they were working. We received an explanation of the work that was being done, which was completed in approximately one hour. The fan and attached light are working perfectly.

Mr. Hyman and I talked on the phone and he was willing to work around what was a fairly fluid schedule. He texted to see if his staff could come by and we were able to quickly come by. Jeremy and his assistant arrived, put on booties and checked out the situation and explained the problem. They did the repairs quickly and neatly and were out in a bit more than an hour. They were friendly and efficient and when I expressed concern about not understanding the electrical language they were using Jeremy was super kind and let me ask questions until I understood what was going on. Having a patient, smart person who is wiling to help someone understand the repairs is wonderful. I would certainly contact them again for any electrical repairs.

They arrived on time. They exude competence. Kudos to Jeremy and Kevin.

We had to find someone at the last minute to do a not-at-all-small job (installing recessed lights). Hyman was able to do it right away. They sent two guys over who did a beautiful job cutting minimal holes in the wall and ceiling and cleaning up afterwards. We brought them back to install lights in a closet, and they came up with a creative and attractive solution that does the job. Their pricing is 100% reasonable, and they are a pleasure to work with. We are bringing them back for a third job soon.

Every job was completed quickly and professionally. Would highly recommend!

Quickly diagnosed and resolved the issue. I've used Bill Hyman's company a couple times to resolve electrical issues. He tried to help me resolve this one over the phone to avoid a service call, but it needed a technician to come out. My only issue is price: their services are expensive compared to others I've seen, but they schedule quickly and work quickly, so I have no complaints. It's worth the extra cost.

The service was excellent. They quickly solved our problems and identified future issues we may want to address. They communicated with us every step of the way about potential costs and options for each project.

We weren't able to reproduce the flickering while the electricians were at my house so they recommended that I call Pepco out for an assessment of our electrical service and then charged me $125 for the visit. I eventually learned that I needed a heavy-up and Hyman quoted ~ $2K more than the competition for the same itemized list of service. While the electricians were investigating the issue, they spent a lot of time sending their boss pictures and calling for instructions. I just didn't feel super confident about the knowledge or professionalism of the staff but the owner, Bill Hyman seems both knowledgeable and professional.

I have used him several times. They are really responsive. I had an emergency the first time I used them and they came out that afternoon. They did fine. They actually fixed a little piece that a plumber did and he fixed it for me.

I've come to trust Hyman Electrical with my electrical needs. Bill is very good at finding the relevant facts over the phone. Jeremy is an electrician who's technically excellent & has great customer skills as well. I'll be calling them again!

Two techs came and were done in about 35 min. I'm not sure if they made it look easy but given how fast they did things it seemed like a pretty easy fix that I'm not sure merited a a $450 charge. I had to move out quickly and get this fix done on short notice, so I didn't have much option to look around. However, the rate for this fix seemed to be between $350-450 based on one other quote I got. I guess electrical work is expensive, but I was expecting something more like $275-350.

Extremely pleased with responsiveness, professionalism and the end result. I would definitely use them again.
