They began checking every outlet for loose wires and found a loose connection for the lights in the light in a different room. For the smoke detector, after searching a number of outlets, they recommended moving the detector to a nearby junction box that they noticed in the ceiling. Price is merely reasonable, there is $75 service fee, and a $125 diagnostic fee. They did detail that up front. They also called after the service call to see if all went well.

Excellent! Great service throughout the design and installation period. Mr. Hyman himself engaged several times to support the unique design requirements, and to ensure everything was done right, and going as planned. Dog friendly folks!! They were wonderful working around and with my two large dogs; took great care to ensure everyone's safety. Inspector who looked at the completed project said it was high quality workmanship, and, "very nicely done".

Great job. They provided an estimate the same day we called and performed the work the following day. We're landscaping our back yard and have two large stumps that have to be removed. Before grinding we had to remove all metal near the site and this included three old 110 volt landscape lights and all of the buried electrical wiring in the area. I thought they were a little expensive but very professional and did a good job.

This was a very smooth process from start to finish and we are very happy with the results. Bill Hyman and his crew are true professionals.

Incredible experience. Workmen were going to be late so company called and gave a new time estimation and asked if that still worked. When the workmen were on their way they called to verify the timing was still good. Two young men who would have made their mothers proud! Clean and neat in their work. Good sense of humor and stayed on task. Light looks great and they even took the box from the new light etc. to the trash for me.

They did a great job. They also answered some questions our tenents had and did not charge them for it.

They responded on the same day. I felt that the price was a little high. They were definitely responsive.

Very well as usual. I am a repeat client and they are always prompt, professional and thorough. They specialize in old houses like mine where the wiring isn't always easy nor up to present day codes. I would rate them a B+ in price if I could. Also must note that they are willing to do little add on's once they are there. Also they are extremely good at cleaning up afterwards. You will get A+ treatment from Bill and his staff.

Scott was punctual, professional, explained the installation process, cleaned up the small mess made on floor, did a superb job. In addition, when I spoke to Mr. Hyman on the telephone to set up the appointment he was very helpful and took his time to explain what needed to be done. I would highly recommend this company.

They were very responsive and I felt like I got good service from them. I spent about $5000 on that service. I liked the guy that came and gave me the estimate. I have a line for the hot tub outside and the hot tub guy told me that we needed to re-do the circuit and I had questions about what was going to be done and the owner of the company Mr. Hyman ended up calling me. I sent him an e-mail with the electrical schematics that I have for it and he looked them over and he was able to explain to me what they needed to do. I thought that their service was really good and on the day that they did the work, they started with two guys and they ended up sending two more later on in the day. So, they got everything finished in one day which was nice. I thought they did a good job and I haven’t had any problems since then. The only glitch was that they put a new service access cable on the side of the house to replace the other one. It is the TEPCO’s responsibility to hook the line that is coming from the street up to that new cable because the electrical company cannot do it, but they are supposed to notify TEPCO after the work passes inspection by the county. I did have a lot of problems getting TEPCO to come and hook that line up and I did have to call this electrical company back. I ended up calling TEPCO myself and it finally got done in August. The workers that came out were fine and they worked really hard. Their prices are high, but you get what you pay for.

We send an email for an estimate on Sunday; call was returned Monday morning; appt set for Friday; work performed on the spot. All very professional -- would definitely use them again!

Fantastic job. We used Hyman Electric to install two bathroom fans and vent them to the outside. The price isn't bargain-basement, but it is a steal for the quality of work done. The installer went above and beyond to make sure that the items worked, that the install *looked* nice, and that the fans were quiet! Later, one of the two fans was causing some issues with a breaker - twice Hyman workmen came out to check on this development, free of charge, and they were able to resolve the situation. We're going to be updating all of the electric throughout the entire home in the next five years or so - and we'll be using Hyman!

After replacing what I thought was a burned out light bulb in my powder room, I discovered that the fixture was not working as well as outlets in my living room located on the same side. When I called, the gentleman was very pleasant and said that he would try to get someone out that day. When I called back a few hours later, he said that someone would be out in a few hours which they were! The service man discovered that a wire had been pulled to connect an outside electrical socket. The over ride mechanism had been triggered which created the problem. I remembered that a person who was doing yardwork had used that outlet earlier for a leaf blower. The service person told me that the outlet was not constructed for outside use and that he could fix that or leave it and just fix the immediate problem inside while making sure it would not happen again. I asked how much for everything and he said $125 in addition to the $75 initial trip charge. I had not been told about the $75 charge but told him to go ahead and fix everything. He did so quickly and efficiently. Other than not being notified about the initial charge I thought everything was handled in a professional way, especially the fact that they came out on the same day the call was made.

The work was done very satisfactorily. The Electrician came promptly. Asked to see all the things that I had in mind for him to do. Offered suggestions, explained electrical codes required by county. Then he set to work and got it all done. I had no idea how much the job would cost, it was a bit higher than I expected, but the price may have been comparable to what other companies would charge.

Jeremy came to our house on time, reviewed what needed doing, took on some extra, last-minute duties, got everything done in less time than I expected, kept me in the loop as I had to leave, cleaned up, and oh, calmed my overly-excitable dog. He's really very efficient, gave me some good advice on what to get in a new ceiling fixture (complete with diagram!), and generally exceeded my expectations in every way. Ours is an old house, with its quirks and old materials, and generally requires someone with good problem-solving skills, which Jeremy has. The tech, Allan, arrived on time and was very friendly. I got a clear explanation of possible charges when I made the appointment, and the tech gave when over the charges again before he began. He was able to fix the light fixture quickly and explained what was wrong. It took a bit of troubleshooting for the outlet, but he figured out that the wiring was problematic, fixed it, and now everything works perfectly. Service call: $75 Troubleshooting of ceiling light and outlet: $125 Fixing light fixture: $45 Angie's list discount: $20 The entire service call took slightly less than an hour. It seems a bit on the pricey side for the service call and troubleshooting especially given that the ultimate issues were easy to fix, but I wouldn't have been able to figure it out without an electrician. Given the promptness of the appointment, ease of the whole process, and quality of the work performed, I'm still very satisfied.

I called and had an Electrician ("Al" says the work order) come out to look at a pair of outlets that had shorts or similar problem. Al was very professional and tested the outlets and gave me a verbal quote on how much it would be to dig into the problem. Unfortunately it was going to be an unknown due to the type of problem and was kind of open-ended so I opted to tear into the ceiling and look for and/or circumvent the problem myself. He very quickly assessed the issue and gave me very sound and smart advice on my electrics as a whole and at my request gave me a very reasonable estimate to do a "heavy up" on my 150Amp system to both bring it up to code and prepare for the addition of central A/C (not in my near-term plans, but something I want to prepare for). I was very happy with the professionalism and intelligence of the electrician that came out and definitely plan to use this company if/when I do more electrical work. The higher cost for some of the smaller work, even though I understand the reasoning for it, was the only thing I wasn't totally happy with. Definitely recommend this company, especially if you're looking for more than just a "fix one outlet" kind of job.

I got a quote from another firm for $4300 for the work and checked AngiesList. Jeremy from William Hyman came by the day I called and gave us a quote for about $1200. Two very nice gentleman (Jeremy and Josh) came by the next day and did a terrific job installing the under cabinet lights (Kichler's, which look wonderful and dim all the way), expertly fixed some electrical work I had done wrong, and installed additional plug boxes. They got everything working well, taught me quite a bit (without being too critical) and also helped me move appliances when I asked. Josh also gave me some good carpentry tips that were helpful in the kitchen project. The result was outstanding, exactly what was needed with extra value in several ways, and about one-fourth what the other firm asked. I will definitely always call them when I have electrical work.

A crew of 4-5 guys worked on the trees. They had very good equipment and were able to remove the tree and roots and refill holes. They did bulk of job first day, returned two more times to complete the work. I did have to call to check they were coming back. All communictions were very friendly, professional and to the point.

Byron was outstanding. Right on time. Put down tarps on floors everywhere he was walking. Asked all about the project before starting. Make good suggestions. Very fast and efficient. Cleaned up every trace of his work before leaving. And he was kind to my curious dogs! Very satisfied and would definitely use them again.

Excellent from start to finish. When I called initially to schedule service, the person (Alan) who answered asked me to check again and make sure I couldn't fix the tripped circuit breakers myself as the service call would be $75. After I ascertained that I could not fix the breakers, a service call was scheduled, confirmed the day of the scheduled call and another Alan arrived on time and fixed the problems. At my request he also checked my oven and ascertained that its problem is not lack of power but apparently a broken thermostat. All in all, very pleased with this company's responsiveness and expertise.
