+ -1 moreWhite Oak did a great job on our floors and was able to start the job soon after giving us an estimate. They offered four different stains, but in the end we decided not to have them do a stain. Did a good job cleaning up, though there was some inevitable dust left on windows and walls. Overall, very happy with their work.

+ -1 moreWhite Oak Floors were very what you see is what you get. They came in and measured all of the flooring, they took a look to see what they were in for, and they gave me a quote on the spot. The quote was very reasonable and was less than I thought it would be by about $500. I was very pleased with the quote. We scheduled a time 2 weeks in advance and I got a confirmation call the day before regarding the service. They came out and were very pleasant to work with. They were quieter guys, but they did an excellent job. They filled in areas where there were defects in the flooring without me asking them to and it was great. I just couldn't believe how nice it looked when I walked in and I have been living here since then and I haven't changed my mind at all. It was a good investment.
Description of Work: I used White Oak Floors to sand and refinish all of the floors in the house.

Description of Work: I had 3 different jobs done by White Oak. The most extensive (and expensive) job they did was to pull up carpet and an existing subfloor, level the joists and put down a new subfloor and hard wood floor. This was a big job and they handled it professionally and well. If I had any questions or concerns, they were very responsive. When they pulled up the old subfloor, much to my alarm, it turned out that seven of my 100+ year old joists had been severly damaged by termites. WhiteOak was great about it. The floor was pulled up and they were in the middle of the job and they could have charged me a fortune to do the additional, substantial, joist replacements. Instead I thought they came up with a reasonable price and did a good job. I was very pleased. I also appreciated the fact that, because of the extra work they were behind schedule and so they came in on Sat and Sunday without being asked. The workers are all very nice and courteous and the finished product was great. On another job in a rental house, I got three estimates from Angie's list recommendations to pull up carpet and resand/stain the old pine floor underneath. One company told me I would be better off replacing the entire floor. Whiteoak said they could just repair a few boards and match them with the old floor. They did a wonderful job and the house looks great. I got estimates for and selected them to do 3 different jobs. Compared to the other companies I got estimates from, they were not always the cheapest, but they were willing to drop there price a little bit when I told them about other estimates. And even if they are a couple hundred dollars more, it was worth it.

+ -1 moreThe work was scheduled to occur in Feb. 2010, but we lost power due to the huge snowstorm. The work was quickly and conveniently rescheduled. They did an excellent job matching the color of the stain to the rest of the rooms in the house. They provided me with a written estimate, and they did not exceed their bid. I was able to save some money by moving the furniture myself.Their workmanship was clean and neat. The workers were polite and punctual. Now, two years later, the floors still look great, even with bi weekly mopping.
Description of Work: White Oak Floors refinished the hardwood floors in my 1930s Cape Cod--living room, dining room and kitchen.

+ 0 moreThey did a good job. I spent about $1100. My experience with them was good. They came out, gave me an estimate and included everything in the estimate. They didn’t charge me for moving the furniture. I had done most of it myself and there were just a few pieces. So, they didn’t have to charge me for that. They cleaned up. They were nice to work with and their price was good.
Description of Work: White Oak Floors refinished my living room, dining room and kitchen hardwood floors towards the end of February. They also replaced the shoe molding.

+ -1 moreAfter getting other estimates, I decided to go with White Oak. We settled on a date and they arrived when they said they would. They worked very diligently and completed the job in one day. It looks fantastic and we will definitely use them for the rest of the rooms.
Description of Work: I called on a Saturday for an estimate. They came that very day and gave us a very detailed written estimate. I got other estimates but settled on them as they seemed so reliable and responsive. The original estimate was for removing carpeting from stairs, upstairs hallway, and 3 rooms. We then changed our minds and decided only to do the stairs and the hallway. They were very accommodating with our change of mind and re-wrote the estimate.

They were really nice and I will call them to repair some floor damage in the near future. They were helpful in making suggestions and were not pushy. Estimated cost was $2,300.

The company work with us to stage the job over 3 different days so that the house was always livable. The crew was pleasant and professional, and the quality of the work was very good.
Description of Work: Removed carpet and installed new laminate floor over concrete basement floor. Sanded and refinished existing hardwood floors in LR, DR, 3 BR's, 2 staircases, 1 hallway. Made minor flooring repairs.

They did a great job refinishing the floors, installing the new wood floors (which really look gorgeous), and even the vinyl tile floor in the storage room looks great; as does the entire lower level. If there was something we didn't like, they fixed it immediately. They did more than we asked for, and I've already recommended them to a friend, and they're doing a job for her. We're renovating our house, and felt our contractor's floor guy was too high in price, and got several other bids, but White Oak Floor's bid was the most competitive, and they had the highest rating from Angie's List, where we found them. A great find.
Description of Work: They installed new wood floors in kitchen and family room. They refinished the floors in two bedrooms, a home office, the living and dining rooms. They installed wood laminate in the entire lower level of the home, and vinyl tiles in the storage room.

+ -1 moreThese were excellent workers. They worked constantly for the entire time they were here. They were careful with my furniture, dishes etc. that had to be moved. They used plastic sheeting to protect things from dust etc. Before they left, they replaced all of the furniture, reconnected TV and telephones etc.
Description of Work: carpeting was removed and existing, damaged oak floors were sanded and refinished. The area refurbished included living, dining, three bedrooms, hallway and stairway.
