Showed up on time took the tree down and grind the stump down. It was all done in 1 day.

I had two trees downed in a storm and a third tree I needed to have removed. Walt's estimate came in much lower that other estimates, and his team came the very same day and removed the trees and left me the firewood cut in reasonable lengths. I could not be happier with the price and the service. I have recommended Walt's to neighbors who were also quite satisfied with their work.

The job went smoothly from start to finish. The work crew, consisting of 8 men, arrived at the agrred upon time and carried out the job in an efficient and professional manner. All of my questions relating to the job were answered clearly. All in all I was most satisfied with the work performed and would definitely recommend this company to future customers. I would certainly use Walt's Tree Service again.

Five-man crew with two climbers showed up early, started at 8am. They pruned a large oak and an ash between our house and the neighbors', deftly removing some branches hanging precariously over both houses. They also pruned a large maple at the back of the property to allow more sun and wind to pass through. They were very professional and friendly, and cleaned up two yards full of debris, leaving them cleaner than when they had arrived. Also cut some of the wood down to fire-log size for us. It was fun to watch, they work well together. Makes me wish we had more trees.

We had several dead trees in the yard of our new house, along with some large trees that had damage from the recent storms. One tree was very large, near electrical lines, pushing against the foundation and retaining wall and in general causing some problems. Anner from Walt's did our estimate and oversaw the job. Very helpful. Gave advice keeping in mind the trees/yard and our budget. Prompt, professional, 10 guys and a crane came, did the job in less time than they anticipated. Cleaned up the yard and street. Very pleased and would recommend to others.

Went great, couldn't ask for better job. Team of 5 (including 2 climbers) came with 2 trucks, one of which efficiently ground up all the cut trees, plus some added debris cut down gratis. Big job, done in about 5-6 hours. Guys worked as team, very efficient, great cleanup of fallen leaves and almost all twigs. Everybody friendly, too. Even neighbors watching commented favorably. This is one very experienced, long-established company. A full five stars!

Note: There was no written agreement, so arguably he had no obligation to perform services, but since the tree service also did not have one, but showed up and did the work in a timely fashion, I did not see that as problem.

They came promptly and gave us an estimate right away. The arrived on time on the scheduled date at the scheduled time. They finished up the work faster than they had predicted, did a thorough cleanup job and left. We wish we had told them to reduce use of the blower for cleaning as they got a good bit of dust all over window sills, but they stopped as soon as we told them to. They are very professional and exceptional value for money.

The rep showed up for the estimate at the scheduled time, we walked the property and inspected the trees. He suggested a solution. We agreed to the terms. The team came that afternoon and performed the agreed upon work to my utmost sastifaction.

This company is amazing. I called them shortly after a storm had passed through our area and everybody was busy removing tree debris. While several companies didn't even return my call, and a couple of others just responded to my email or phone without following through, this company quickly scheduled a time, came out in person to evaluate what I wanted to do, and gave me a written estimate by email the next day. I needed to have a tree removed from our backyard to be able to repair a retaining wall. Since the retaining wall company had a narrow window of time to work, I needed the tree to be removed within the following couple of weeks. Given their busy schedule on the weekdays, they decided to come out on a Saturday so that they can get it removed in time. Not only did they not charge me extra, they actually gave me a discount for going with them. The most amazing thing is their problem solving skills. The tree is on a slope behind a retaining wall and another company had insisted that we will need a very expensive crane to lift it up over the house to the street. Walt's tree removal said that was not necessary and they spent the whole day cutting it piece by piece until it was done. When I told them I would like to keep the wood for the fireplace, they cut it down to smaller pieces and piled it up in the backyard for me at no extra charge. However, what was most amazing is the stump grinding process. Since the tree was on a slope over the edge of the retaining wall there was no way to get the stump grinder over the wall. Another company wanted to bring it up from the street below the slope, and wanted to charge $600 just for that step. However, Walt's tree removal crew was much more creative and managed to drive it through my neighbor's back yard (after getting his permission) since the slope was not so steep at his side. They then pushed it sideways to my side and managed to grind the stump completely. As I mentioned earlier, I was planning to repair a retaining wall and that is why we needed to remove the tree and grind the stump. The retaining wall company owner was so impressed with their work that he took their contact information for future reference. He had anticipated that he would need to remove some roots before he started, but the job was so thoroughly done that he didn't need to do anything else before working on the retaining wall. Everyone on the crew was professional, pleasant and very hardworking. After they were done they cleaned any sawdust and debris with a leaf blower and left my backyard cleaner than when they started. An absolutely terrific company.

We contacted Walt's for an estimate on the removal of an enormous tree from our back yard. They were polite and professional on the phone and came the next day to provide an estimate. They explained thoroughly what work would be included and gave us a price which was very reasonable for the amount of work to be done. The first scheduled appointment for the tree removal had to be cancelled due to weather, but they promptly rescheduled for two days later when the forecast looked promising. The team arrived a few minutes early and got right to work. The removal of this huge tree was complicated by the fact that it was very close to our house and in fact our deck had been built around the tree. They took every precaution to protect our home and deck from damage during the tree removal -- some of the limbs were as large as small trees themselves, and could have caused quite a bit of damage if not handled properly. The safe removal of the tree took a tremendous amount of work, and the work was done with a high level of professionalism and completed in one day, with a team of at least six people working for almost 12 hours! They even took photos and videos of the process which they showed to us since we had to be away from home during the time that some of the tree removal was done. Even our neighbors commented on how hard they saw them working and what a great job they did. We could not be more pleased and impressed. When the job was finished, the team from Walt's did a thorough clean-up job, leaving hardly a trace of sawdust from the massive tree. I would highly recommend Walt's and will certainly be hiring them again when we have another need.

This company is really fantastic. This was our 4th time using them. Their prices are reason able and the work crews are professional. Highly recommend them!

These guys are Amazing! The company sent a crew of six professionals to perform this huge job. They worked great as a team! They had a tree climber cutting down the trees/branches with a helper; another pair taking the tops out; and another pair hauling debris. Believe me when I say not one branch/limb touched our house or shed. The cleanup was phenomenal as well...picking up excess leaves in the yard from fall/winter...leaving our home very well groomed and much nicer than ever expected. In addition, they started at 9:30 a.m. and gone by 3:00 p.m. We highly recommend Walt's Tree Service to any one in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area....and this is without any hesitation! The team did a fantastic job. They were punctual and did careful work. The machine they needed to grind the stump apparently broke the day they removed the tree, so they returned the following day (a Saturday) to complete the job. We were not present when they performed the job on both days but inspecting things afterward, there were no complications. They also left the yard and surrounding area very clean on both days - afterward, you would never have known that they had just done this big job including the stump grinding. They removed all the debris. I highly recommend this company if you need tree removal done.

We contacted Walt's Tree Service while in the process of receiving estimates for the removal of a large tulip poplar from the front region of our house. We called the office on a Friday afternoon in order to schedule a time for an estimator to meet us at our house – they were able to schedule the estimate to occur on the next day (Saturday). Working around our schedule, however, they scheduled an estimator to arrive on the following Tuesday. The person who arrived, Anner, was friendly, honest, and knowledgeable (he was also punctual). He suggested that we use a crane to remove the tree, due to the fact that the tree was situated amongst Junipers that would be damaged if the tree were to be removed without a crane. The suggestion also was a comfort to us, as the tree was relatively close our house (although he indicated that they wouldn't have a problem with the location of the tree with respect to he house, even without a crane). Furthermore, he gave us the best price out of all of the contractors who provided estimates for removal of the tree with a crane. When we scheduled to have the tree removed, we were told that employees of Walt's Tree Service would be arriving between 8:00 am - 8:30 am – they began arriving at ~7:45 am (again, they were punctual)! They immediately commenced positioning of the trucks and the crane that they required for the task, and they began working on the tree. The staff worked in worked efficient concert – a crew on the ground quickly disposed of the cut tree segments, while a crew in the tree strategically attached the crane to segments of the tree that were being cut. The crane operator managed the crane with great precision, avoiding neighboring trees and structures in the process of placing the cut tree segments in position for the crew on the ground. The process appeared to be executed as one continuous, fault-free operation. The staff, upon completion of the job, thoroughly cleaned our property (and the surrounding area used to grind the tree segments). Furthermore, they completed the job in less than half of a working day. We are extremely pleased with the work that was performed by Walt's Tree Service, and we would not hesitate to employ their services again, or recommend their services to others.

The tree removal guys did a great job, they cut down and shredded a huge pine tree in an hour. They were friendly and efficient. The tree was easily accessible and there were no plantings to protect, so it was all relatively straightforward. Their price was so much lower than the other estimates I got (which ranged from $1,150 to $2,500 for the tree removal alone). The stump grinder came a few days later. I asked him to grind out the stump deep as we were going to plant another tree in the same area. Two months later, when I finally got the new tree and dug the hole, I realized that there was still part of the stump left. I called Walt's and requested that they come back and grind the stump some more, and they did! Within a few days they came back and ground out the remaining piece of the stump and some big roots. That was really great customer service, and we were very grateful. Overall, we had a great experience with them, and would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of a tree removal.

Walt's responded within a couple of days to give me a bid to take out three pines that were in the way of a fence we are putting up. The person who came to give the estimate is a tree specialist, and was able to answer my questions about a couple of other trees that will need work in the future. His estimate for the three trees was reasonable. We had two lower estimates, but the lowest was from someone who is not insured or bonded. When I later called Walt's back to ask about other discounts, they ended up matching the second lowest estimate. On the scheduled day, they came on time, worked efficiently, and had the work done in a couple of hours. They cleaned up after themselves, and left us some of the wood chips that our neighbor requested. We were very satisfied with the work they did.

I absolutely give Walt's a 10 out of 10. Because of the tight squeeze in our backyard, they couldn't bring a crane, and had to do the tremendous amount of work all by hand. They gave us a great estimate (way better than anyone else) and did the work as planned and on time. They were polite, efficient, and took away every scrap of wood. The job was absolutely enormous, and we weren't really sure anyone could do it -- but Walt's was superb. One piece of one tree damaged our back fence, and the crew fixed the fence better than new. I would absolutely use them again, and I give them the highest possible recommendation.

When I contaced Walt's Tree Service for an estimate, they were quite prompt. Other tree services, said that they would call me back or they scheduled appointments as far as two weeks away. The estimator was on time for the appointment, very professional, and explained very well what he recommended to have done. He was quite knowledgeable. Further, the company could do the work quite soon and the estimate was very reasonable. On the day the work was scheduled, the crew was on time, they got right to work, and worked very well the entire day. The crew chief was very responsible and explained things quite well. The crew worked very well with each other as a solid team. At the end of the day, the work was done well, the area was well cleaned. I was more than satisfied with the work. I would highly recommend to anyone that needs work of this sort done, to at least call Walt's Tree Service for an estimate. They are really quite good. I have owned the property over twenty years and have had other tree specialists remove trees, prune trees, clean up the yard, etc. I say without reservation that this is the best result and the best crew I have ever had perform this type of work on my home.

It was okay I qould use them again but wouldbe there to supervise the job

They were able to do the estimate the day after I called, and came in with an estimate that was half that of another company. They came exactly when they said they would. The estimate had included grinding the stump, but the trunk was too close to my house and too near my neighbor's gas line for the stump to be ground, so they dug down and cut it off below ground and covered it, instead. They cleaned up nicely, including the trimmings from some pruning I had done the previous weekend. Since I live in a row house mid-block, this was very helpful -- otherwise I would have to bag and move the trimmings to the alley for trash pickup. My neighbor also had storm damage to a tree, which they removed for her while they were there. All in all a completely satisfactory service. It was a small job, but it was nice to have it handled competently with no hassle.
