Wonderfully, workers were punctual (early in fact), clean installation, laid runners on the carpets, cleaned up after themselves, took 5 hours total, and were polite and friendly. Price was lowest among five estimates taken on the same day (contractors all from Angie's list) w/ $300 rebate from Trane. Also, USE is the contractor for 11 home improvement stores in DC area, so took advantage of 0% interest for 12 months. Passed inspection first time, great experience, would do it again.

Eric provided a written diagnosis/estimate (cost $109) that verged on fraud. It stated: "Parts not available for 1987 unit", "spark ign bad", "inducer circuit bd bad", "saw spark to housing and doesn't provide 120v to ind motor", "blower motor capacitor bad", and concluding "recommend replacement of furnace" (cost $4000; $7168 with new AC). USE said another furnace could not be installed for five days, during which time temps were to be in the 20s (house temp was in the 40s by day two). Based on my conversation with the USE tech and his up-selling, I arranged for a second call by Davis & Davis. D&D's tech replaced the inducer board in 60 mins ($330), said everything else was fine, and the furnace is now working . Further, the D&D technician advised *against* replacing the furnace (which I wanted to do as a preventive), and said that replacement parts should be available within 24 hrs by the 3 Carrier dealers in the DC area(completely contradicting USE).

I called asking for someone to assess my HVAC. I had a first opinion suggesting moving ductwork. The person who answered the phone replied that they don't do duct work. Which is crazy, as any company installing HVAC has to do it. In any event, I waited for a moment. Silence. I said "is that all you have for me?" She said yes. I thought folks should know that their customer service in this instance left a lot to be desired.

THERE WERE A COUPLE OF PROBLEMS WITH THEM BEING ABLE TO GET THERE ON TIME BUT IT WAS NOT TO BIG OF DEAL. THEY DID A FANTASTIC JOB AND THEY CLEANED UP THERE MESS WHEN THE JOB WAS FINISHED. THERE PRICE WAS A LITTLE HIGH BUT THEY HAD A VERY SKILLED AND PROFESSIONAL CREW.

THEY DO A VERY GOOD JOB AND THEY ARE VERY EASY TO WORK WITH. THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND VERY PLEASANT PEOPLE. THEY WORK VERY HARD AND GET THE JOB DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER.

REQUIRED TO REPLACE THE HEATING SYSTEM. THIS WORK WAS PERFORMED DURING THE HEATING SEASON. THE WORK HAD TO BE COMPLETED IN ONE DAY TO GET THE HEAT BACK ON BY THE EVENING HOURS WHEN THE FAMILY RETURNED HOME. THE NEW HEATING SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED & TESTED BY THE END OF THE DAY. A TECHNICIAN CAME TO THE HOUSE LATE IN THE EVENING TO CHECK THE SYSTEM, ANSWER QUESTIONS THAT ALL WAS WELL. VERY GOOD PUBLIC RELATIONS. I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK & CUSTOMER SERVICE.
