Tomato Electric

Paul from Tomato Electric was great. He came in early. We discussed the position of the 4 recessed lights to replace my outdated flourescent fixture in my townhous kitchen. Paul got right to work. He laid out protective cover on the floor and plastic over nearby areas. It turned out that the junction box under the fixture had to be relocated, which was not part of the original "big deal" price. However, the additional cost was very reasonable. He finished in about an hour and half and cleaned up the area afterwards. The resulting lights are dimmable, look great and I couldn't be happier with the overall experience. I plan to use Tomato Electric again in the future and would certainly recommend them to anyone needing electrical services.

Paul was efficient, polite, and very considerate of the surrounding areas, both interior and exterior, which included taking precautions with a decorative tree. Due to the nature of the job, it was necessary for him to supply a few parts - the cost was reasonable. He got the job(s) done within the time that I purchased, and even changed a stubborn landscape light bulb. KUDOS to PAUL and TOMATO.

This was a 5-star experience for us all the way. Scheduling was easy and the installation appointment was seamless. Paul was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. He made his plan, got down to work, and in short order had all four new lights in and working, while also changing out our ceiling fixture. The room was spotless when Paul was finished, and the lights are amazing! With the photos and information Paul took during his visit, we received an estimate for similar lights in six other rooms (at a discounted price), we scheduled the work (with 3 options for installation dates), and the other lights will go in this week. Additional lighting is changing the entire character of our home. They say as you age, you need better lighting everywhere, and now having the option to brighten a room with four 65w recessed lights on a dimmer has made me a believer. Everything from the first contact with this company, through scheduling, installation, estimation, pricing, and additional scheduling, could not have gone smoother, and the results are first-rate. Other contractors in this area should take notice: yes, it really can be this easy to make your customers happy. Friendliness, good communication, prompt service, professional presence, reasonable prices, and a first-rate product and service will ensure a satisfied customer. Why some companies feel the need to bring drama, delays, surprises, and disappointment to their jobs so often is just beyond me, especially when Bob and Tomato Electric make it look so natural and effortless to deliver a quality product on-time, on-budget and with respect and courtesy. Yes, it can be this easy.

I was very happy with this service--I have lights installed in a room where I've wanted them. The gentlemen from Tomato Electric pulled into my parking lot about 5 minutes early, walked up to my door at the stroke of 7:30 a.m. (our scheduled appointment), and had some suggestions for me as to where to place the lights. Once I decided, it took less than two hours for the lights and dimmer switch to be installed. I'm very pleased, and think I more than got my money's worth out of the job. Because the dimmer switch had to be added to a different place, I paid $145 extra for that work. Even so, it is still a very good deal, and I will definitely use them again when I need electrical work done.

These guys were fantastic. Supremely friendly, could not see that they had even been in the house when they left. Highly professional.

We really felt good about them, they did a good job. They had a good price, and they did it right. We just felt they were professional all around. They did what they said they were going to do, they had good workmanship, and they had a good price. They anticipated issues, and coordinated as necessary. Everybody was courteous and friendly, and they came on time. Everything went well, we were very pleased. We will have them back to do some more work here at the house. I would recommend them.

Everything went smoothly, quickly, and with a great deal of courtesy and professionalism. The estimator came out, was very pleasant, and followed up with the estimate as promised. The work was scheduled, and the electricians came the day and time arranged. They worked quickly, were nice to deal with, and finished the work to the letter. They went above and beyond the call of duty to help me with a problem that was beyond their responsibility. The work was inspected by the county and passed with no problems. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and would use them again for any electrical work.

The work was scheduled for 7:30 AM and Paul was on time. he first explained what needed to be done, took measurements, told me where holes in the drywall would need to be made not only for the lights themselves, but to have access so the wiring could be run. I was asked if I wanted a separate switch from an existing one, what it would involve and how much it would cost. I decided to have the separate switch. Paul explained why the wires had to be run a certain way, and always up to code. Before he started, even if my floor was messy (it is being replaced) he placed a tarp in his work area and kept any "mess" to the minimum. he marked all the pieces of the drywall so my contractor could replace them. The recessed lights themselves were Philips Lightolier, which were excellent and top quality and not big box store generic types. At the end of the work he told me is had been doing this since the company opened, and it showed in the absolute perfection with which he performed the work. Paul also answered a lot of my questions patiently. I could not be happier and am glad I chose Tomato Electric for this work. The lights have made a world of a difference to my living space.

I contacted Tomato Electric through Angie's List and he responded the same day. An appointment was setup for the next workday which had to be postponed due to rain and I needed outside work done. We agreed upon the next day for the work to be done. The electrician was on time and called me to let me know he was on his way. The work was done in a timely manner and very professionally. All work areas were cleaned before he left.

The 2 men who arrived from Tomato Electric were prompt and professional. They quickly fixed the items on my list and were on their way. We would definitely use them again!

From the first meeting with the owner of the company to the end of the job, this company met all my electric needs and expectations. I am a very picky homeowner and do not like having strangers in my house. However, they respected our home and did a wonderful job with making sure all the furniture was covered and properly cleaned up when they left. They knew to wear protective booties while in our home too. I really appreciated their attention to detail. It said a lot to me when both men had told me how long they worked for this company. Clearly when employees are at a company for a while (more than ten years) you know it is a solid company, one that takes care of its workers and in turn the workers take good care of clients. I liked them so much I had another small job to install a few new ceiling jobs and they came back and did a second job for me a couple of days ago. I think the best compliment a homeowner can give to a company is to use them again!

They were excellent. They were a wonderful outfit. They arrived when they said they were going to. They were very, very professional. They did the outside outlet job within 15-20 minutes. They did a first rate job on the junction boxes. They were reasonably priced and we were certainly happy. We wouldn't hesitate to use them again. The first job was an Angie's List Big Deal and they didn't charge any extra. We use them now as our regular electricians. They evaluated the work done by the previous electrician and said that a lot of it would need to be rewired because it had not been done up to code. We had them come back two weeks later to do the work. They spent 2 hours and completely fixed the problem. We haven't had a problem since. It was close to $1,000 for the two times they have shown up.

The fellow who came was extremely nice and did the work well. Absolutely no complaints. Actually took only an hour--so perhaps we overpaid by buying the two-hour deal! But again, the guy was great.

They were right on time and worked very efficiently until the work was done. The worker was very friendly and answered all of my questions as he worked. I would definitely recommend this company. They were excellent.

From my first contact with Tomato Electric, they were professional, prompt, and courteous! I never waited more than a few hours when I emailed them. Paul came at 2:00 as promised. I was running late from school so I called the company. I was told, by Matt, "Don't worry. My wife is a teacher. It's okay, the electrician will wait there for you." Paul came in and was very friendly as well as competent. He KNOWS what to do in a timely fashion. The light was installed in about 15 minutes. That is competence!!!!! The fireplace took about 5 minutes to diagnose. It was the swich on the wall. Again, it was fixed without any problem. I then asked Paul a few other questions. He answered them competently and with a smile. This was the BEST experience I had with an electrician. I HIGHLY recommend this company for your electrical needs. Thank you Matt and Paul. They came to my house twice and they did an excellent job. I thought the cost was very reasonable and under what it should be. They found things that I didn’t even know. They fixed everything in this house. It was incredible. One of the ceiling lights had actually shorted out and there was a little bit of fire up there and I didn’t even know it. He said that the reason that it was okay was that it burned through the wire and it stopped. Everything turned out very well in the end. He was very clean and very fast. I was surprised that he got the work done quickly. They were very punctual and got out here to fix things right away. They even were trying to get out here the same day but they couldn’t but they called me back. It was a very good experience.

Tomato Electric was extremely responsive and professional on the phone pior to and day of service. Technician arrived and left on time, and performed services efficiently and successfully and in a cordial manner.
