Description of Work: Dug up old cast-iron sewer line that was clogged with tree roots. Replaced all pipes with new PVC pipes. Re-concreted first floor where the dig occurred. All-in-all, they were GREAT! Keeping us calm through such a horrific ordeal. Will definitely use them again!!!!

Description of Work: We needed an emergency fix for our grabage diposal. We worked with them through Snap Fix and they were able to come the next day and get the disposal working again.

Description of Work: The provider was a plumber who specializes in pipes. He knew exactly what was wrong with the noises coming from the pipes, and provided the best solution I could have hoped for. I will absolutely use them in the future.

Description of Work: Really helped me out last minute in a bind. After using my "warranty company" to fix a leaking water main at my house, it leaked again and their solution was to put a ban aid on it yet again. So I called in the troop at Thos E Clark-these folks are great. I've referred them to a lot of clients-I'm a real estate agent so trust me when i say I've seen it ALL in the plumbing world.

Description of Work: So my bad review for the plumber isn't for their actual work performed, it has to do with communication. I thought I had a simple fix on a broken toilet, replace a valve and flapper. Plumber came on Jul 3rd on time, and after looking at the toilet confirmed that he didn't have the parts in his truck to fix. He says I have a pretty off brand toilet; I took him at his word since I don't know too much of brands but this made sense. He would have to order the parts and could fix the following week. | |I was going out of town for the week and asked if they could fix the week of the 14th; fine he said. They would email me when the part came in and we could schedule an appointment. He took many photos of the toilet to confirm the brand/parts. Before he left I had to pay $99 for the consultation/visit which I thought was pretty high. | |While on vacation I never received an email or phone call. Upon my return on Sat Jul 12th I called the company. They promised me someone would contact me. | |The next day I received a call stating the part hadn't come in yet - fine I assumed but would've liked a heads up earlier (and I was dealing with a different person than who originally came over). | |I receive a voicemail on Tue Jul 15th asking if I could take photos of the toilet and email them to the plumber. Now I know the photos already exist, but at this point I just want what I thought was a simple problem fixed. | |No word for a few days; I call the plumber to see what is going on. He is very cordial and tells me there is a delay with their supplier and next week could be the earliest they could receive the part and fix and that the estimate is $315. At this point I have no idea if that is too much or not. I want the toilet fixed. | |So this week - no word on a part or when they can come fix. I was planning on calling them on Wed Jul 23rd. I get to work and receive a call saying that the part came in and they can come by 10-1 that day to fix. So I have to leave work and wait at the apt. A call the day before would've been great so I could plan something? | |So my main complaint has to do with responsiveness and communication. The people I dealt with were polite and professional, but I had to instigate every communication to see what the h*** was going on. I will assume that I have an unique toilet with hard to find parts, but in DC it takes over 3 weeks? This isn't a car with much complicated machinery. The work was performed satisfactorily, and the toilet is fixed. I was displeased with the lack of communication.

Description of Work: They were one of 6 companies that came to over replacing my neighbors' oil furness & old hot water tank with a natural gas boiler & domestic hot water system. They were one of three that we considered using for the job due to their professionalism, thoroughness, knowledge & pricing. The only reason they didn't get the job was that one of the other companies had used radiators at no cost to replace a nonworking radiator, which reduced the cost of the work by about $2,000.00. I would recommend them to anyone and would certainly use them in the future.

Description of Work: To snake one bathroom sink that was Clogged. The gentleman who came out was efficient and professional however the price to me was extremely high for one clogged sink. They came within an hour and a half but they did not call ahead of time. |It was only a small amount of hair that came out of the drain, nothing unusual and nothing that should not have been found in the drain. I was happy with the work and the gentleman was most professional but the price was really high. I hope it last me for quite a while, as there was no guarantee for the work.

Description of Work: I have used Thomas E. Clark on several occasions. They are always very responsive and professional. They often come out either the same day or the very next day. I will continue to use them for plumbing repairs.

Description of Work: They fixed one faucet and gave estimate on another. They are not cheap but the work seems to be very high quality. Am scheduled to use them again.

Description of Work: Had a leak in the upstairs bathroom. It was quickly diagnosed as a breakdown in the toilet seal. He fixed that problem, also took a look at a long standing problem with the shower in the same bathroom. What we thought was going to be an expensive repair turned out to be a simple fix of caulking the shower door and base and the problem was solved. I will continue to use this plumber as long as I keep getting positive results like this.

Description of Work: (1) On 4/21/2014 the Thomas E. Clark technician installed a gas flexible supply line for dryer and replaced cartridge for Delta lavatory faucet. The technician did excellent work and provided sound advice. |(2) On 10/21/2013 Clark technicians installed a Toto toilet, replaced it when it did not function properly, and then installed a different model Toto when the replacement toilet failed to function properly. After the replacement also failed, the technicians installed a less expensive Toto. Notably, Thomas E. Clark did not charge me for the extra work. Moreover, the firm reimbursed me for the price difference between the Toto model that I had requested and the Toto model that was actually installed. This was in my opinion a highly professional and responsible action on the firm's part. |The firm charges market rates but lives up to its commitments. I prefer to pay well and get reliable work. | |

Description of Work: used them twice. 1st time was a leak in the show 2nd time was a for another leak in the lower bathroom. we have an old house which was in need of some major plumbing reparis.

Description of Work: I called to set up an appointment to have someone come look at my air conditioner. I didn't even get to the appointment. The scheduler that I spoke to, Debbie, was rude, condescending, and impatient. When I finally had it, I asked her for her boss's name and contact information and she replied "its this number". When I asked "what is this number?" she said the company number and she didn't know the company number. If someone who is scheduling appointments doesn't even know there own number you know you're not going to get good service. I made the appointment thinking the technicians might be better, but common sense prevailed based on the notion if scheduling is that ridiculous, service would be worse. I called back as soon as I hung up with Debbie to cancel the appointment and found out that she hadn't even put me on the calendar. Good thing I called back. Imagine taking time off from work and waiting for technicians that never show up because a scheduler chooses not to put you on the calendar. They charge a $99 min service fee just to come to your place. Instead, I had a wonderful business who had a great scheduler, wonderful technician, and no minimum service call fee service my air conditioner. My air conditioner is working perfect now no thanks to Thomas e Clark. If I were them, I'd get rid of Debbie. ---- Newsflash to vendor: people do own property in states other than the ones they reside in.

Description of Work: Cleared blocked sewer line and reset toilet. Plumber also put camera down line to see that roots had broken the pipe, determined that the damage to the pipe was on city property and liased with the DC Water Authority to get it repaired.
