Without exaggerating, Amy Stacy saved and even improved my home property value this weekend! This past week, we've had painters painting the exterior trim around my home. They had to go through two different rounds of painting trim colors that my husband and I had selected that looked absolutely terrible. In a fit of panic at how terrible the exterior of our home looked due to our poorly chosen trim colors, I reached out to Amy for rapid assistance. Given the fact that the painters were already underway with the job, Amy came over on short-notice. I explained to her that I was having an impossible time translating the trim colors on homes that we like, into the paint colors we chose for our trim. We were keeping the color of our shutters so any paint trim choices would have to match against that color and that of our brick surface. Amy and I talked through a number of options in color swatchs that she compared against our home's shutters and found color choices that were actually complementary! She was able to pick up on the undertones in the colors we had selected and point out how those were not in the same family as the color tone of our shutters. She ended up recommending one set of colors that matched the style that we were attempting to achieve. We got the painters the new colors and they went to work quickly on this third and final round of painting. Now, our home actually looks respectable and lovely. Thank you Amy!

Amy Stacy from Stacy Studio assisted me in a bathroom renovation. My home was built in 1903 and much of the original bath and infrastructure still existed. The new bath was expanding beyond the original bath footprint and required a total gut job with new plumbing, electrical, etc. With many old homes there were unexpected issues that also needed addressed as well as other home utility upgrades were made while completing this work. The services and expertise Amy provided were excellent and well suited for this type of project. The years of design and management experience Amy has in the Architectural world definitely proved to be valuable for this seemingly small project. The various resources she provided were definitely key for the success of this project. The service providers (electrician, plumber, carpenter, etc.) were reliable, skilled and trustworthy. I learned that I have a hard time making decisions about this type of project and Amy was patient and "held my hand" from beginning to end! I did do some reference checking on her and found that she has A LOT of experience and is well regarded! Oh Yeah, She also did a much larger kitchen, home addition project for my Brother who owns a 1940's tudor style home in Silver Spring, MD. He and his wife were and still are VERY happy with both the process and the end result!

Ms. Stacy provided us with an initial consultation and lengthy discussions of ideas for a family room addition to our DC rowhouse. We signed a contract but discontinued the project when we made the decision to move to a new house. However, Ms. Stacy was a real pleasure to work with, gave us a very fair estimate, and was helpful when we needed to stop work. I would use her services in the future.

She seemed to be very nice. We were very close to using her before we found another architect that we ended up going with. She had a nice portfolio and seemed very professional. However, she didn’t express enough interest in what we wanted to have done.

Amy came to us highly recommended for her creativity and professionalism, which we experienced first-hand. From the very beginning, she understood our concerns and came up with a number of good, practical ideas to transform the space to suit our needs while keeping within our budget limits. All of Amy's suggestions were made with an eye towards maintaining a harmonious balance throughout the house. Unlike a number of professionals we consulted for this project, Amy never pressured us to consider doing things on a larger scale to obtain the desired results. Instead, she worked hard at making it possible for us achieve our goal without spending a fortune. In addition to her creativity, Amy is fabulous at interacting with contractors and vendors and very helpful in identifying sources for any number of materials or products one may desire. I highly recommend Amy to anyone who is looking for an architect who thinks outside the box.
