The sales people were ultra pushy! During their initial visit I placed an order for 2 sliding glass doors. After thinking about it the following day I decided to cancel. I followed the instructions in the paperwork I was given within the 3 day period and sent an overnight letter to the address provided. The local office called me and said they had to come to my home to witness my signature - which is bull! They came out and went into another hard sales pitch - I invited the guy to leave. A few days ago I received a credit card in the mail from Wells Fargo who finances for them. I was shocked! Why did they open this account before the expiration date for cancellation had passed???!!! In fact they even placed an $8000 hold on the card so on my credit it looks like I owe them that money. When I called their office to complain they said they would close the account - which looks bad on my credit!! I was told it was their policy to send the finance application in the day you sign the contract, without consideration that the client has three days to cancel. I am reporting them to BBB and anything else I can think of.

Thank you for the message - feedback from our customers and prospective customers is invaluable and an important part of our efforts to continually refine and improve our processes. We provide a financing option as a courtesy to our customers. When a customer chooses the financing option and signs a Wells Fargo application, they are requesting a line of credit be established in their name. Once requested by the customer, getting credit approval immediately ensures our ability to procure the requested product and move forward with the installation in a timely and efficient manner. I'd like to discuss this with you further over the phone in order to clear up any misconceptions you may have about our process, so that you may walk away from your experience feeling better. Thus far, it's been a good experience. The gentleman showed on time, was very informative, and got us an estimate on the very same day. We've actually contracted them to do the work and are just waiting for them to come out at this point.

The sales pitch was definitely drawn out. I can't complain in the respect that they inform you of every minor detail and what you will be receiving, but it could have gone a bit quicker. When it came to making the estimate, I was quoted $20,000, but was unable to afford that. After discussing some options, and agreeing to take part in their promotional picture program (so they have pictures to sell their products) to receive a discount, we agree upon $16,000, which included a $3000 leeway for potential board replacements. I felt safe from the sales pitch that this would cover any issues. Once they were already into tearing apart the roof, they claim to have discovered that I needed an additional $4,000 worth of wood replaced because the wood that was currently there would not hold the roofing that was to be installed. II find it rather hard to make a $4,000 error in estimate. Additionally, I saw no pictures taken, before or after, of the roof replacement. This leads me to believe that they were planning to get their $20,000 one way or another. Needless to say I was not pleased about the additional cost. Despite the cost issues, the work that was completed was done extremely well, and I feel confident that I made a good investment. The transferrable warranty is what truly sold me on the roof.
Description of Work: I was approached by a door to door salesman who scheduled a consultation to discuss roof replacement. They then came and gave me the sales pitch and replaced the roof.

Hard sell? you bet, but you learn a lot, and I like to actually see the product and system they are describing. If you want to touch the shingles, see the venting, know how it works, they'll explain it al. The pitch was long. They could do it a bit more efficiently, but when you look at the materials, the system, the time frame and the quality, it's a great product. The materials showed up on time, the crew showed up on time. The on-site supervisor was informative and helpful. The entire area was covered with tarps to catch debris, they cleaned up afterwards, and swept for errant nails with a magnet. The communication is great - they checked in several times during the project to make sure all was on track.
Description of Work: Removed 2 layers of shingles, replaced with new roofing system including ridge vents, soffit vents, some sheathing replaced

Other reviewers complained about the "long sales pitch", but when you're committing that kind of money to your home it is worth it. My representative did stay for three hours, but walked me through every step of the process and materials. I got two other estimates, lower of course, but with little explanation. Both were onsite for less than an hour. Yes, they may be a bit higher in cost, but I appreciate my return on investment (~85%). I have a 50-year, transferrable warranty. This is backed by the MANUFACTURER, not the company. If they go out of business (not likely), the roof (materials and labor) are covered. My sister is a realtor and said this will be a huge benefit for resale. The top layer is what really sold me. This is not tar paper, with rocks glued onto it. Rather it is solid rock (for not knowing the better term). Heavy and thick and baked. The crew are all trained by the manufacturer, they work together like a well oiled machine. They are all dressed alike. They were not picked up at the corner 7-11 for the day. The onsite foreman keeps you informed along the way. Especially when they peeled back the old roof (which the crew was actually afraid to walk on. Yes, that bad). The cost was a few $1,000 higher, but I had to have every, single sheet of wood replaced. I was not surprised. Their financing is done through a Wells Fargo Home Improvement Line of Credit. I bank with them, so that was easy to obtain. I do agree with another reviewer on the Quality Assurance follow up. Nice, sharp guy who launched into another sales pitch before I realized what was going on. They are quick with the numbers game, showing how if you spend $XXX more on getting new XXX your monthly payment actually drops, etc., etc. I just wasn't ready to spend anymore money!

Quick summary: Timeshare style extremely hard sale presentation with overpriced industry standard windows. We went to their booth at the local trade show and were told they'd do an energy audit and that they couldn't give us a rough price estimate, both not true. Don't trust anyone who says they can't roughly tell you a price as Home Depot can. Two representatives came and spent an hour asking personal questions that were not relevant to the window installation. They measured the windows and displayed their window and gave us lots of information that the Home Depot person said was false. Then they wouldn't go away, even after 2 hours and I left to get my son from day care. When I came back they were still there. They quoted $1080 per window, $900 if you buy that day. They then proceeded to hard sale us for an extra hour using long stories and fear tactics (total time = 3 hours) trying to pressure us to buy that day. Two days later, we got a Home Depot contractor to stop by. Took 45 minutes end to end. Windows were similar quality with same lifetime warranty (but backed up by Home Depot, a much more solid company). Priced at $630 per window install with no minimum number to install (vs. 3 for Power). Also mentioned that Power was encouraging us to change 2 windows that just needed caulking (another extraneous $2160). So we went with the Home Depot contractor. I would recommend that anyone else should do the same and avoid contractors that can't give you a rough estimate before they go to your home.

Everyone of our windows is custom made and ordered after meeting with the homeowner - this is the reason we couldn't give you a pricing estimate for your remodeling project up front. Without meeting with you, taking the time to learn about your specific needs and desires, going over the style options and measuring the correct dimensions of the windows you'd like replaced, we would be unable to provide you with the information you need in order to make a fully informed decision. While Home Depot is certainly an excellent company, I would put the strength of our warranty up against any other company in the country. Not only do we cover all of our products long after installation, but we employ a Warranty Service Division who's entirely dedicated to addressing service issues with our customers from over our 22 years in business. While we are certainly not the cheapest game in town, our customers believe the 5-star experience we offer is worth the additional cost. Don't take our word for it, tho - take a look at our Guild Quality profile, which randomly surveys thousands of our previous customers on their remodeling experience: http://www.guildquality.com/powerhrg If you'd like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me directly using the information below. The young man, and when I say young, I mean young. (Around 21 at most). I got an extremely hard and long sales pitch. As a matter of fact, I could not get rid of the young man. I even started to make dinner, and he still sat in my kitchen. I would say he was in my presence for about 2 hours giving his sales pitch. I did, however, certainly learn about the products they would be using for the roof. When he gave me an estimate of $30,000, I was shocked to say the least. I very politely asked him to leave, which he did not. Finally, I looked at him and told him I was finished with all the "talk". I do not blame the young man. He was very nice and it was clear that he had been drilled about everything he said. I actually felt sorry for him, because he was leaving without closing the sale. This company is all about making the sale, and gave me no reason to put trust in them. A couple of days later I signed a contract with a local roofer, who spent just the right amount of time with me to explain what needed to be done. His final price was $7,500. He was a referral to me but was also listed "A" on Angie's List. I gave them low grades in responsiveness because they have called me just about every day since my appointment. I did not answer these calls but saw their number on my caller ID. If they call again, I will answer and make it very clear to them to stop bothering me. Also, I think this company is exploiting young people by building them up to think they will make a huge sale. I know young people have to start somewhere, but I sure am glad my sons did not start with a slave driving company like this one.

I have lost count of the number of times a pushy Power Home Remodeling Group sales person has come by my house. I know that I need some roof work but I can tell you for a certainty that this company will not be doing the work because they are so annoying. When I say I am not interested, that is exactly what I mean. I can identify with all the other bad reviews concerning their sales tactics. We have had instances of my wife telling them no during the day but they would come back in the evening anyway. First impressions are lasting impressions and judging from the other comments I have seen you have made some really bad first impressions.

Great bunch of people at Power! In every phase, the people I dealt with were courteous, professional and did what they said they would do and on time. The supervisor closely inspected the work while it was being done and the guys up on the roof worked very hard to complete the job. They even did a great job cleaning up afterwards so that I didn't have to walk about picking up roof debris and nails. My only suggestion to Power is that when the Quality Control guy comes out to initiate the warranty, tell him not to be so pushy about selling more work. Also, he should have let the Supervisor know he was here, which he failed to do.
Description of Work: Everyone at Power, from the sales person through the pre-install inspection person and the guys working on the roof were friendly, courteous, professional, did what they said they would, showed up on time, and worked very hard to complete a large job in 2 days. In fact, their timing could not have been better, since the sky opened up just an hour after they finished!

We received several phone calls to set up appointments and pre-install inspections. The installers arrived on time and were very efficient in installing our new windows. The only criticism I have is that the windows were very expensive. The only reason we bought them is because of the very high quality. The other reason is for the lifetime warranty against all hazards and the ability to transfer this warranty to new homeowners.

Everything was done in a timely and professional manner. When an unexpected problem arose, the crew knew exactly what to do and they accomplished the task with fine results. They established a simple, effective barrier to limit the area affected by demolition trash from the front door removal - and cleaned up the house and yard before they submitted the final bill.

They installed new siding. They gave us a time frame of 1 week to install but it took longer. The clean up was not very good lots of nails left in the yard . The siding its self is okay ,not great but okay . Some of the spots looks like it doesn't have the foam insulation so it looks a little sunken which we were told it would not look like that . The house does look better than the old siding .With the exception of a few issues here and there it wasn't a bad experience. They offer a discount on future projects so we might go with them again depending on the price.

During consultation, Joshua, the rep was great, let us discuss things alone twice while we decided our options. Price was a little higher than the other estimates, but the quality of materials and warranty won out. Our roof is almost 3000 sq ft!! and lots of angles. They showed up bright and early as scheduled, started right to work. They took 2 days to complete, kept everything cleaned up and safe for the family going in and out of the house. Carlos, the foreman was great, professional, easy to talk with and kept us informed during the whole process. The crew was great as well. The whole team worked hard both days. The site manager, Robert, came out and he also was professional and easy to talk with. Everything was picked up and clean around the house when they were done. Overall a Great experience!!!!!

Power went above and beyond my expectations over and over again. 1) Lots of contact by phone - to set up the technical inspection, to schedule the actual work, to confirm the work date was still a "go" and to notify me that morning that they were on the way. 2) VERY professional crew, with a will to work and a "Let's get it done, no excuses" attitude. The crew encountered several obstacles and simply did not let that stop them. They arrived promptly and finished everything in a single day - as promised. 3) The crew chief kept me informed of the progress constantly throughout the day, and took the time to explain what they were doing at each stage and why. 4) Power's attention to detail and committment to a quality job meant that they even went so far as to do things I never even asked to have included in the contract. For example, they spray painted the exhaust pipes to match the color of the singles, and even took the time and effort to totally replace the shingles on my bay window so that all the shingles on the entire house would match. AND they also spray painted the flashing at the top of the bay window to match the new shingles. 5) When they first started, they parked a trailer in front of my house to hold the trash and extras. They TOLD me they would pick it up the next morning, but when the crew finished, the trailer guys showed up and took away the trailer that same evening. 6) When the crew was finished (and actually all along the way), they cleaned up so thoroughly that my yard looked like they had never been there. Overall, even though I paid a bit more than I had planned, I received a LOT more than I expected. This is the definition of good service - under promise and over deliver. That is the final impression that Power Home Remodeling Group left at the end of the day.

A few weeks ago the company was performing work in the area, so they went door to door trying to schedule sales calls while my wife was home. They entered the doorway and said they were scheduling an estimate. They claimed to already have us scheduled and refused to leave the doorway until my wife gave them my contact information. I called that evening to cancel the appointment and request that our information be deleted. This morning I received a credit pre-approval advertisement from their phwebblast@gmail.com address. When I called they still had not removed our contact information and refused to claim responsibility for the e-mail address. The customer service rep, Alice, would not connect me to the owner or manager. When I told her the issue she then claimed to be a manager. She claimed our info was now removed but said the mailing list was controlled by Transunion. This is false, it's an e-mail account controlled by Power Home and I had never received a message from them until they came by. She refused to remove our e-mail information and said it was my responsibility to contact Transunion to remove myself from all mailing lists. This company appears to be a franchise with a national calling center. The calling center is not responsive to customer issues and the local MD salespeople are unprofessional.
Description of Work: Unprofessional, intimidating salesman. Scheduled an estimate without our approval, refused to leave unless we gave them contact information, and then refused to remove our information from their records.

I just called to set up an estimate for a bay window replacement for my townhouse (rental home). The representative was very nice and professional, but said the company was unable to conduct an estimate on the window unless my wife was there with me. We have 2 young children and it's a fairly long drive so she wouldn't be able to make it. At first I thought he was just messing around with me, but he said the owner recently set up this policy because they were getting slammed with bad reviews. I'm shocked and really don't understand how this new policy will mitigate the bad reviews. I won't ever call this company again for repairs for either my primary residence or rental property.

Thank you for taking the time to write and leave a review - we take all customer feedback seriously and use it to improve our processes and level of service. In regards to your experience, it is true that we request all homeowners be home at the time of the estimate. A home improvement project can be a very intimate experience - you're opening up your home to a company and are trusting them to do the right thing with, arguably, your most precious possession. We want all parties involved to be completely comfortable and aware of what to expect in every step of the process, that way we can ensure the best experience possible. In your case, I certainly understand your line of reasoning. In instances like this, we can make exceptions and I'd be happy to have a conversation with you about how we could move forward with your project. They entered into an agreement with Wells Fargo for the billing, so I can make a monthly payment. Overall they did a good job, and we haven't had any issues with the windows. We haven't had any severe weather since the roof has been done to really test that out yet. They were on time. I would use them again as long as no negative aspects arise from the work in the meantime.

I was really happy with them, i never met the guy incharge but that was okay because the foreman for the roof , he new everything about roofs he was fabulous, and the man working on the door was also fabulous and they were all from Power Home Remodeling Group but i know the coordinator must have kept in torch with them all though i never met him but the group that came were fabulous. They were wonderful because they even did some things for me like my gutters were flowing over and they have nothing to do with it but they fixed it for me, within two days the roof was up and within week or two all the jobs were done and that was good because they were totally diffferent. They are really the best roofers i watched them work and they were really accommodating for me and they knew what they were doing.

The actual work of installing the gutters went very well. The crew that came out were polite and efficient and got the work done timely. That said, the sales guys of Power need some major work. The guy who initially gave us his presentation took over 5 hours, selling us the whole siding, gutters, etc to a whopping total of over $35K. It didn't settle well with me so I called them back the next day to cancel. Another sales (manager) came out to do the cancellation and gave us the presentation of how canceling hurts their ratings and certifications. He knocked off $800 for the gutters so we agreed to do the gutters only. WE will see if the work and quality of these new gutters hold to it's price tag. Will write another review after a year and see how these hold out. They are suppose to be maintenance free so we will see.

I'm sorry to hear you felt your appointment ran long and, but please understand we have designed our entire process with the customer in mind. We take the education of our customers seriously and informing our customers as to all the ins and outs of their project can take time. At Power, we only do things "the right way" - which means our product quality, warranty service and installation processes are second to none. When making a decision about the renovation of your home, it's important to us (and important to our customers) to understand how we are different from other contractors and specifically what we do to separate ourselves from the competition. This information is vital in making a decision on an investment that could cost thousands of dollars and, on the whole, our customers appreciate our thoroughness. Hopefully, after seeing how smoothly the gutter installation went, you can understand why we are so thorough in each step of our approach. If there's anything else you'd like to discuss about your project, please feel free to contact me directly using the below information. First, we met with the salesperson who got us to sign ("It's $33,000, but for you, I will do it for $21,000"). We asked if we should take down our porch because it was mounted to the side of the house where the siding would be installed, and he said no, that the crew would do it. We spoke to Power a couple of times before they came out and asked if they were SURE they didn't want us to take it down, and they assured us there was no need for us to take it down. THEN THE CREW CAME. They were NOT on board with taking it down, so they RIPPED it down into a pile of lumber. It had a clear corrugated roof that they did not number, so when they eventually put it back up, the screw holes did not match where the new screws were, so we had a hundred holes in our porch. When they came to fix it, they put regular screws in and in a stiff wind they started popping off, so we had to replace them ourselves. THEN, the siding started buckling, which was apparently a manufacturer defect. We were under a lifetime warranty but Power was VERY UNRESPONSIVE. We called them numerous times, including 2/17/14, 2/22/14, 3/17/14, 3/18/14,3/20/14 (those are the ones we documented.) Apparently, although we had the warranty, and because it was not Power's fault (because it was a manufacturer's defect), they expected us to chase down the manufacturer to get it resolved. We only wanted to know our options, but Power just avoided our calls. When I finally got hold of the manufacturer (Crane), he said they could replace the siding or write me a check for a whopping $4,000. I asked " In what universe is that fair? Who is going to pay the other $17,000 we're in the hole for a faulty product?!!" The guy said they had discontinued the color we liked, but they replaced it with a similar color, which was news to Power who had told us we were out of luck (why the customer is the one telling Power that they had a new similar color and not the other way around is beyond me. Then came the 14 calls to get them to schedule the re-do, and WE took down our porch this time (so at least we know it got done correctly!) and our siding was replaced May 19th, however, they broke an electrical receptical, and had to come back to fix that, which they did. Too soon to tell if this siding buckles or not. We are "married" to Power because of their so-called double lifetime warranty, so we'll have to stay with them, BUT NEVER, EVER AGAIN. All they needed to do was have one person advocate to the manufacturer on our behalf, answer our calls, make sure crews arrive on time, and the job is done right. We had TERRIBLE SERVICE that could have been resolved with some simple customer service training. Never again. UPDATE: Power sent us a $500 gift card for our troubles, and promises that they have made significant changes to their customer service process by creating a "customer concierge" program wherein one Power employee is in charge of one customer, so the customer isn't made to be the general contractor for their project. We are hopeful that they resolve their customer service issues, but remain skeptical. P.S. Angie's List is a great motivator for companies to improve their performance.

Thorough but not overly long presentation. Very professional including inspection inside and out. Quoted price and set up for an appointment with a site inspector who set up a date to do the work. They set up for the work to be performed over 2 days (roof one day and gutters the next) but were able to get it all done in one day. They left the site perfectly clean. They also set up an appointment for a post work satisfactory inspection. Everyone we dealt with were professional and showed an honest concern in making sure that we were not inconvenienced and were satisfied. The cost was pricey but if the product and warranty are as good as promised then the money will have been well spent. I would recommend them.

Steve showed up to take measurement of the old gutters the day before. The next day a team of four arrived on time, installed the gutters, cleaned up afterward. Excellent job. This was completed in one day. Excellent job!
