The installers called to let me know they were on their way. They put down protective covering on my floor and started to work right away. The job took a couple of hours, My doorway had to be adjusted to fit the door. Both men were friendly and very meticulous in their work.
Description of Work: Provider removed old wooden front door and installed a new fiberglass front door with bronze hardware. Since my door was too tall for the door I picked out, the frame was altered to fit the new door.

The install itself seemed to go smoothly, done in one day as promised. Pleasant staff. Although they seemed to have picked up well afterwards, we found ourselves grabbing stray nails from deck and lawn from time to time afterwards -- a concern since we have small children playing here. The shock came when I went up to our attic to get some luggage. While I was used to having to be careful of quarter-inch nail tips protruding from the plywood ceiling of the attic, I now faced a forest of 1" nail spikes studding the entire ceiling, like an inverted bed of nails. This attic has a low ceiling already, so it will be hazardous doing things up there. I certainly can't let my grandchildren come up anymore. Phone calls to the "Service" department result in statements that the nails are standard size required by the manufacturer. To us it looks like these may be standard for a new roof laid over an existing roof. Basically, they are telling me: "Tough luck; nothing we can do." One person I spoke to said he'd never heard of such a problem. The next representative I spoke to said he's heard it many times before. This leads me to ask then why they don't warn potential customers of this outcome...the answer is probably that it would be detrimental to sales. It was perfectly obvious that this was an attic in use, not just an air space, when they surveyed it. (Their own photos show the short nail tips at the time the old roof was still in. I can provide pictures with suspended ruler of the spikes studding the ceiling now. Since they have had zero suggestions on remediation for this issue, we will be purchasing styrofoam panels to impale on the ceiling so that our heads and shoulders do not meet the same fate.
Description of Work: In April, they took off the old roof and installed the new roof.

The group that did the installation was 'well oiled'. Each person had their specific job in the sequence of the installation & they all followed the sequence making for a better & timely outcome. And they did clean-up behind themselves. This happened to be a partial job (2 story home), top story this wk, and we did request the same crew. The windows? Should have done it much sooner.

The offered "free quote" turned into a marathon sales pitch of several hours. One price for the day and another several thousand more for any other time. I signed, but when I had questions later and could not reach agent or obtain his phone, I cancelled the contract. That drew immediate and professional response as well as deeply discounted, second proposal. Work was done expertly. Totally professional crew of 10, plus supervisory personnel in and out. The finished job: It is as though these folk have learned from every single mistake they've ever made, and now they are very, very good. PHR, however, was not happy that I withheld partial payment until removal of the dumpster the day after their part was completed. Only slip: They failed to remind me to check for nails after removal of the dumpster.

They're super expensive but they're really good. The staff was great. They cleaned everything up. I discovered an issue afterwards but I just haven't talked to them about it yet. We need to get them to come out and finish off some capping that they didn't do. I think they do a great job. I think they've got a great product and I think they're expensive. If you're going to own your home for a very long time these are the windows you should get. These things have a life-time warranty. So, they'll come and replace it for you for free. That's why they cost so much. If you are dissatisfied with anything about the product and the installation, they will come out and fix it because when they put in second set of windows I was not happy with the way the windows were moving around in the sash. I wasn't happy with the fact that the first four windows had two locks and the second four they put in only had one lock. They came out and redid the bottom sash and completely replaced the bottom sash on all four windows and replaced the locking mechanism and put double locks on them. Right after the installers leave, someone calls and says, "Are you happy with the work?" When they did, I said, "No. I'm not happy." Someone came out. He was there in about half an hour. He looked at it and said, "I agree with you. It's a problem." They set up a date to come back out a couple of weeks later. They ordered the new windows and came back out and replaced them.

FIrst, I will go into the window. I just had the windows replaced by another company but unfortunately they are crap, cold air was coming from the panes because you can move the panes within the window frame and one already broke because most of the parts are plastic. Anyways I wanted to see what kind of product they had so I knew I still needed to replace a sliding glass door on my house. As soon as they were done I knew I wanted them to redo my windows. The door made my kitchen quiet, and cooler. What I mean by quiet is I have a pool with a loud filter and I now can no longer hear which is great. I cannot move the door within the door frame. It has double locks for more safety, I was really impressed. I told my husband lets redo the windows on the house with their product. The siding on the house came out great, the color was just what I wanted. My home has saved in energy during the summer so far. I used to see my air conditioner run for more than 15 hours a day now I am down to 9 or lower. I really believe in their products. I will say that they are alittle more expensive but definitely worth the money because I really don't want to have to replace siding or windows again on my home. Their workers are very polite and will answer any questions and will leave your home clean. Another good thing about this company is I need something or have a question my phone is always answered. I tried to call the window company and it just rings, nobody answers American Home Remodeling once they have installed your product.
Description of Work: I have a home that was built in 1969 and siding looked like it was that old so of course I got a quote for replacing the siding and windows.

The crew would come at 8:00 a.m. and not leave until between 7:00 and 8:00 in the evening. The job was completely done in 5 days and we only had one broken light fixture (which was 30 years old and needed replacing). The company is going to reimburse us for the cost of a new light fixture. There were minimal items that need fixing and the crew is coming back to fix all of those in one day. My house looks brand new and beautiful. The project manager showed up every day to make sure the job was progressing and to check on any problems. All of the company representatives are polite, courteous and friendly. We will use this company in the future for other projects on our list.

I spent a day taking estimates from 3 different window companies. This company, although not the least expensive, hands down had the best quality window. Having replaced 10 windows already using 2 OTHER companies, I had plenty of experience with poorly made windows, which is why I delayed getting any more until I knew wanted, and knew what I didn't want. My brand-X 2012 and 2013 replacement windows are much harder to open one handed, locking/unlocking requires 2 hands, and a few of them already leak. This sales rep arrived on time and was not pushy. He had a great product to show and he knew it. A week later there was a scheduled appointment to confirm the measurements and an appointment was made for the install. We found a week and time that worked for both of us, and a date was set. Many window companies that I've talked with over the years have insisted that I must do all the windows in order to do the job. This company allowed me to do just a few windows at a time so I can test them out, and later budget and plan for more. I received a reminder call a few days earlier and then a call again that morning. They told me that I'd hear from the crew around noon to get a specific ETA. They called at noon to say they'd be here at 1:30. The 2 man crew arrived right on schedule. They were dressed in clean uniforms and introduced themselves at the door. They spread out drop cloths on all my hardwood flooring and carpets, they even hand wiped their shoes upon entering the house. They did a quick survey of the windows being replaced, and promptly began to work. They spread a tarp outside to catch the debris from the outside, spread yellow caution tape around the construction zone, posted a temporary construction warning note at the front door. They attached a padded ladder to the side of the house with slow and careful precision so it wouldn't hurt my siding, I checked. They were very polite, quiet, and respectful of my privacy. They treated my home with gentle kindness. There were no loud noises or shouting. Nobody smoked on the job. I hardly knew they were here, and then they swept, vacuumed, picked up, and cleared out just as quietly. Before they left they did a walk through with me, encouraging me to look for anything that may need to be improved upon, but I found nothing out of order. Everything was insulated, caulked, sealed, and all the trim was put back looking better than ever before! They showed me how to open/close, lock/unlock, and how to clean the windows. A 3rd man arrived partway through to follow up. He had me sign the sales contract and emailed me a warranty for the windows. He stayed for the walk through and we talked about future window replacements. He took measurements of my other windows so that when I'm ready to do more windows. I'm almost ready to order more, just by how smoothly this went. I had expected a major mess and disruption. I think they'd be just as efficient with 6 more at once! I'm looking forward to the sunlight not baking my bedroom this summer but the big test will be when we get the first frosty wind this coming fall and I'll update this review then.

Long, drawn out, pre taught selling excercise where the estimator ignored our requests to wrap it up. Three hours of my life that I will never get back. Almost got to the point that I was going to call the police to get this guy out of our house.
Description of Work: Came out to give an estimate for roof replacement. Be forewarned this estime turned into a three hour pitch session. Though the young man was nice, we told him upfront we just wanted an estimate for cost comparison before making a decision. Nearly ended up throwing him out of the house. Kept lowering his estimate if we would sign on the dotted line that night. Product seems good but hate the selling methods.

Both the installers and the sales representatives were very professional at all times. My wife and I were very pleased with their work. They do it great job of explaining the entire process of the installation and the technology behind their products. We have already replaced all our exterior doors (front entry door and two sliding glass doors) and they did such a great job that we decided to have all our windows replaced. The fact that they are able to guarantee their work with a lifetime warranty (or more depending on the product) speaks to their commitment to quality an service of their work and products. I highly recommend Power. They are more expensive, but they're products and work are high quality.

We had siding and gutters installed on our house in September, 2014. The salesman that came out was knowledgeable and spent as much time as we needed, helping us made our choices. We were scheduled for two days for the siding and one day for the gutters. Everything was finished on time and the yard was picked up and clean. The crew was professional and diligent. When the work was finished a supervisor came and checked everything. There was one place that was not what I wanted and someone was sent out the next day to correct the minor problem. We were so happy with the job done on the house that we decided to have the garage done. That was done October 20-21st. The cost for the house was $ 21,890.00 and the garage $ 7,800.00. This past winter, an extremely cold winter, we could tell the difference that the siding made in both comfort and heating cost. So happy we had this done. Would recommend Power Home Remodeling Group.

Power Remodeling has been calling me off and on for months about siding. There have been a lot of problems arranging a meeting, some related to them insisting both of us had to be present for an estimate. I finally told the telemarketer that they could come to talk to me only, or I would not consider using their products. The telemarketer agreed to an appointment with me only for Friday, April 10, 2015, at 6:30 PM. No one called. I made sure I was home 30 minutes before the appointment and I had my phone with me for any unforeseen delays. No one called. No one showed. I don't appreciate my time being wasted like that.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us feedback. After reading your review I looked into our system to try and determine what occurred relating to your scheduled appointment. Oddly enough, while we have records of conversations between you and our representatives attempting to schedule an appointment, we have no record of an actual appointment ever being set. I like the quality of the product that they put on the roof. They are very disjointed company which caused problem with our convenience. They represent the quality of their service but they did not misrepresented the quality of the product that they used. My wife was not home so they insisted that she should be here, then they did not showed up. Than I got a call and I explained my wife does not care about the roof, so the guy came and shows me the product. The quality of the work in term of labor has no complain. But the supervision work is comical. They disconnected the power for safety in work and they left and did not connect it back. We had no power for 10 hours, so my wife called and complained than they came to connect it back. They did know what everyone doing in their company. I paid $14000 and nobody know about it.

Thanks for leaving us feedback on your experience. While we're glad to see that you're thrilled with the quality of your new roof, I wanted to clarify some details related to your power being disconnected. On some projects we are forced to disconnect the power in order to safely install the requested products. This is done for the safety of the installation crew, the homeowner and to prevent damage to the home. In these instances, we provide backup generators for the convenience of our customers. When it is necessary to disconnect power from the primary line, we must work with the service provider in order to do so (in this case, Dominion), as we have no control over the electrical grid. Following the completion of this project, we immediately reached out to Dominion in order to reestablish power from the primary line, however they were tardy in executing on the initial request. After [Member name removed] alerted us to this, we followed up with Dominion again and were able to expedite the matter. While we regret any inconvenience you may have experienced, in this case, we had no direct control over the power being supplied to the residence and had to work with the provider in order to reestablish service. PHRG door-to-door sales person came to our door one random afternoon. We had been looking to replace only a few windows in the baby room of our single family home but after our scheduled appointment, we decided to do more. The representative who came to our home to explain the products and give us the quote was excellent! He was very informative of PHRG's products and was very patient with our questions. The main reasons we decided to go with PHRG because of the uniqueness of their window technology; their warranties (parts AND labor, non-prorated) on roof, windows, gutters, and door; we particularly like their one-time transferable warranty; and the no down payment until all the work is complete! Our deal if we were to sign at our appointment: windows, roof, free gutters, and discounted door (I believe it was pretty significant discount for the door was got). We ended up financing the entire package which essentially is a credit card installment through Wells Fargo at 7.5% interest. After signing the paperwork, we scheduled to meet with a project manager who went through our home another time to double check the measurements, etc. He also explained what we needed to do prior to each installation (i.e. make sure exterior furniture is at a safe distance away from roof). He was our POC throughout the entire project. The job took two separate days; roof and gutters were first, then the windows and rear entry door. Both work crews were very professional and on time. Clean up was excellent! As far as the products, no problems so far. We love our new windows and door! We plan to replace the windows and sliding glass doors (if PHRG offers) of our rental condo through this company in the near future. One thing that we promised but did not receive was a final itemized breakdown of the work which would include the prices for each install after the completion of the project.
