Mr. Reece Fasick was very thorough in inspecting our home during the free consultation and review of our roof. The inspection included an external (from the ground) and an internal (from within the attic) inspection. He presented us with the results, documented with pictures that he took in the attic. We also walked around the property and he pointed out concerns that he observed from the ground. We had staining and black streaking on the roof that another company had suggested we just wash away. Mr. Fascik indicated that this generally means you have a fungus problem or possible leak. He took pictures in the attic of various nail pops, insulation too high into the roof line, black areas in the roof (which would be replaced when the roof was replaced). He really had us very concerned about the roof when he finished. We?ve been in the house for 40 years and only replaced the roofing system once so we knew we were close to needing to do it and with the bad weather this past winter of 2015 we thought it would be sometime soon. Mr. Fasick was very detailed in reviewing the Power HRG?s roofing options. He also said we might consider the siding as well since we had indicated that we power wash the shady side of the house every year. He asked about the technique the company used and said we might have water damage behind the siding. As a result of our interest, Mr. Fasick gave us a 4 ½ hour review of all the roofing and siding products. He presented the company approach to "roof replacement", described the whole roofing system they use and had samples of all the materials that they would be using. It was a very interesting discussion and educated us on the many aspects of roof replacement and the siding line of products. A key point of the message was that Power was not going to be the cheapest, but they were "high quality" and would save on our electric bill and the warranty was transferrable to one more owner. It was interesting but very long. Not really high pressure until he started the pricing. He gave us statics from all over the country on prices and then gave us a ?must take it today price? and a very high price if we waited to get prices from competitors. We are impressed with the products but I think we could have done better with the price even with the high quality products they use. When the job began, the materials and a large dumpster arrived three days before. I went out and met the crew chief when the work was scheduled to begin. The team showed up every morning at 8:00 and worked until 6:00. Long day for them but they were very professional and I was able to go in and out of the house without any problem. They picked up debris at the end of each day. Unfortunately, they did not have to replace any wood on the roof or on the side, which Mr. Fasick had made us feel it was a doom and gloom situation of impending disaster. The work team didn?t even put wood over a hole from a removed window -- just put the weathergard paper over it. Hoping that the Cedar Tech siding will provide sufficient protection. The third day another team arrived and installed the new gutters. It was a precision team that made the gutters, installed them and cleaned up in less than an hour. The installers went above and beyond assuring there would be no nails or construction debris left in the yard. I watched as they used magnetic type of brooms to sweep the site. Our property was left the way it was found, perfectly clear. Our new blue roof looks great. The dumpster was removed two days after the work was completed but I was able to add a few things so that was helpful. I gave the Power HRG an excellent rating, the work team was a very professional and complimented each others skills and duties. The front door will be installed in 12 days so looking forward to having a ?brand new house?.
Description of Work: Removed existing shingles, added a ridge vent and an intake ventilation vent, new shingles and the rest of the steps in the Power HRG Timberline roof system. Replaced existing aluminum siding with Cedar Tech Wall System, gutters, shutters and new front door.

My home is over 42 years old. When we moved in, the roof was on its final legs (needed replacement in 1-3 years). As a career firefighter, I spend a lot of time on roofs and knew that my roof was worse than originally thought. Along comes POWER Home Remodeling Group. My wife answered a door-to-door agent setting up free estimates for work and arranged for a roofing and siding estimate. The day came for the estimate appointment and Rachel (estimator) arrived promptly and was very friendly. We spent the next 3-4 hours going over the details of both the roofing and siding projects. Our main focus was the roof and my wife and I were very impressed by the presentation. We have had 4-5 estimates by other contractors previously, so I was aware of ballpark pricing for my 3200+ sq ft roof . I physically walked the property with Rachel (the estimator) and went over all the fine details of the roofing project, including touring the attic spaces. We determined that roof replacement was needed immediately due to bad decking/shingles. Her presentation included physically putting my hands on the exact materials that would be used on the project. This was a huge plus to me and my wife as it helped her to understand the in's/out's of the project. POWER HRG uses the top-of-the-line GAF products, including newer synthetic underlayment with the latest passive attic ventilation systems available. These materials and the factory-trained crews provide us with a 50-year warranty on the roof. This is the last roof I will ever have to put on my house! The pricing was a little higher than expected, but after reviewing some of the previous quotes we had received, there wasn't a huge difference and the materials POWER uses are superior to the old tar paper tradition causing re-roofs earlier than anticipated. I looked at 50-year warranty and superior materials vs. traditional materials and 10-15 year warranties (at best). POWER's program was a no-brainer. Plus the warranty is transferrable to the new owner should we ever sell. They offered a business-efficiency discount for contracting on the first visit (large savings) and their financing is better than most home-equity lines of credit I've seen. Pre-Inspection: Jordan arrived promptly to do a pre-project survey to gain better understanding of material quantities and logistics. He's very friendly and thorough. It was at this time my wife decided she wanted to replace the potentially leaky skylight in our master bathroom with a new one to avoid future issues. Jordan handled it with no issues. We were left with a feeling of confidence about our expensive undertaking. Project Day: Leif (Project Manager) contacted me early on Day 1 of the project to introduce himself and discuss any concerns that may have come up since the inspection. He's very friendly and thorough. Alberto (Crew Chief) was friendly and made sure to address any concerns I had as the project progressed. The tear-down was quick with their crew of 8-10 and it was determined that all of the plywood decking would need replacement. Being an old house, the current decking no longer met code (3/8" vs. 1/2"). The old stuff looked like flimsy cardboard as they pulled it down. This added some unexpected cost to the total, but it was simply the nature of the beast...there is always some unexpected with any project! By the end of Day 1, my house had entirely new decking and all the drip edge, ice/water shield, flashing, and synthetic membrane were applied and sealed in case of any unforeseen precipitation. Day 2 and the crew arrived early as discussed and began work immediately. The entire roof was shingled with SmartVent installed and Ridge Venting. Architectural shingles with anti-algae properties were used. Shingles feature a double layer of impregnated gravel on top/bottom of each layer to prolong life. Extra care was given to ensure a pleasing finish where the roof met the siding at various places. Leif (Project Manager) checked in with me as crew completed project by 2pm on Day 2. He walked me around and showed me all the in's/out's of the project and toured the attic with me to show me again how the SmartVent system works. All-in-all, this was a great experience and I would recommend taking the time to look into this group as a very viable option for your roofing needs!

We successfully canceled. They can go lie and steal from someone else.
Description of Work: This company tried to swindle my 74 year old father. I came home at the end of the salesman's 4 hour speech. He convinced my dad that our roof has severe damage and could break through if you walked on it. He explained how it has severe water damage and showed us pictures of huge wet patches and holes in the plywood from the attic. After hearing the $28,000 price tag I told my dad to rethink and get some other quotes even though he had already signed up. I checked the attic for myself and guess what, no holes and almost no water damage in sight. He correctly assumed my dad was too feeble to climb up there himself. Too bad I wasn't. He had showed us someone else's pictures to convince us. They're liars and cheaters. After my dad canceled they called and came back to offer a better deal, $8000 for almost the same service. Really? Wow, all of sudden they can do the work for so much less. They also tried to sell gutters for $4000. Were they made out of gold? Nope, aluminum. Maybe they personally make them out of soda cans or something, because $4000 is laughable. They're crooks and I see plenty of poor reviews for their actual work. Best look elsewhere before you get ripped off.

Response from Power Home Remodeling
There are a number of claims in the above review that are incorrect and we strongly believe that the above experienced was mischaracterized by the member after looking into the matter internally. At the onset of the appointment, our remodeling consultant was told by Mr. [Member Name Removed] that he thought he had a hole 'the size of a basketball' in his roof. Our remodeling consultant examined the roof, took pictures and showed your father what he found - which did include a damaged roof, but not a basketball sized hole. Additionally, the quotes that you listed above are inaccurate. The initial project quote was not $28,000. Additionally, when we met with your father on the second appointment and discussed ways to remove cost (we removed the trim from his project and then itemized the roofing system from the gutter system), we were able to trim around $4,200 off the cost of the project - not the $20,000 you suggest. Furthermore, our product line includes oversized gutters, which are larger and require more material to manufacture, because they're more efficient, reduce clogging and are overall a better product. The above review is not representative of the character of our company and we dispute how the experience was retold, nor do the pricing estimates accurately reflect the actual cost of our products and services.

Later I called to cancel the appointment and it was fairly easy. They made an attempt to schedule for a different date/time but not high pressure. However, since then we've received calls from Power Home every week on both our home phone and cell phone. Last week I answered both calls and asked them to put me on the do not call list. Like clockwork, received two more phone calls today. Asked again to be placed on do not call list. Then a few minutes ago we had obnoxious multiple knocks on the door plus ringing of the door bell and it was another Power Home Remodeling representative canvasing the neighborhood. He was polite when I told him that I'd asked the company to place us on their do not call list and told me to have a nice day. I feel their repeated attempts to contact us in this way is pretty aggressive and don't feel comfortable with these tactics. I would not do business with this company.
Description of Work: No work was performed. They were canvasing our neighborhood a few months ago and my husband made the mistake of answering the door. My husband tried repeatedly to decline having them come out to give us an estimate. Eventually he relented and scheduled an appointment for the next evening. The guy just would not go away.

One of their salesman visited us on Wednesday while they were in the neighborhood working on someone else's house. Ben was very pleasant and we agreed to have Power come out to give us an estimate on window replacement, we have a window with a seal leak and were curious on the cost, having just purchased our home, of full replacement of all windows. Ben let us know someone could come out to give us a no risk estimate that was guaranteed so even if we waited a few months we could use the provided estimate for work. I spoke with Ally on the phone who was polite and set an appointment for us on Saturday morning at 11 AM. I was told by both Ally and Ben we would get a call to confirm the visit as well. I received an emailed confirmation after the visit and call of the visit as well They never showed, no call, no email, nothing, and the pamphlet and email doesn't even provide a phone number to call. We waited until nearly 1 before we went out to run errands. I'm not sure I trust a company to do work for me when they can't even keep appointments for an estimate.

Our sincere apologies for the frustration - after reading your review, I looked into your customer profile and found that our Scheduling Agent made an unfortunate error when recording your contact phone number. Because the wrong number was input into our system, we were not able to contact you and confirm the appointment on the scheduled day, leading us to cancel it. Clearly this is a mistake on our end and we've already addressed it internally with the Scheduling Agent you spoke to. We sincerely apologize for letting you down and failing to deliver on the expectations set. We'll use unfortunate error as a learning opportunity and try to limit this from happening in the future. While I understand that this wasn't the best first impression, we would love the opportunity to earn back your trust and win your business if you're still interested. If so, please give me a call at the number below and we'll be more than happy to reschedule an appointment for you at a date and time of your choosing. Team showed up exactly on time. Right when the project manager said they would be here. Got right to work and finished the job on time. Product looks fantastic. The installation team covered everything in plastic so nothing inside got dirty. Left the outside and inside looking g like they were never here. Wonderful communication throughout the process by PHG. Highly recommended!

This is the third project I have had done by Power Home Remodeling. Each time, the initial contact has been done at my convenience and at the specified time. The presentation is thorough and professional. There is always a period after the paperwork is signed where I could cancel if I had second thoughts. Financing is set up with third party financial institutions. There is a second visit where all of the measurements are taken for the materials which are going to be installed. On installation day, the crew arrived as scheduled. The work was performed during the period of time scheduled and everything was cleaned up and removed from the premises. A supervisor called in during the installation to check on the progress and later to check on my satisfaction with the project.
Description of Work: All work done was on room attached to back of house. Replaced window damaged during break-in. Replaced two plain glass windows with casement windows. Replaced back door which had been damaged during break-in with more secure door. Replaced sliding glass door between house and room with more secure sliding glass door. Replaced siding on outside the room.

Day one Window guys came prompt and gave me a rundown on what he would be doing. Handled everything without any issues. Put the Windows in, capped it, caulked it, cleaned up afterward. It was probably cleaner in there after they were done. Day 2 was the siding day. Here on time. Everything has been going great with them also. Project managers keep an open line of communication and kept me in the loop on every step of the process.

From the initial knock on our front door, all the way to last window installation and final inspection this company was professional, knowledgeable, punctual and very detail oriented. Every technician was extremely professional and willing to do whatever it took to make us happy. The cost was a little bit more than other companies that we looked at but it was well worth it, our family was inconvenienced for a brief period of time but the product and service are impeccable!

We hired this company to replace a leaky old bay window in our home office. Before I get into the details of the install, I have to first say that these people came very close on several occasions to getting tossed out of our house. As others here on the list have stated, the sales tactics are highly unprofessional, high pressure, and smack of underhandedness. Whenever a provider gives me a price, then tells me if that price will go up if I have to think about it, what they're really telling me is: 1. They're not comfortable with their prices and know I'll find something better 2. They're worried I'll look them up and find that they don't have a stellar record 3. They're worried I'll find that they offer a substandard product. There's no other logical reason to change the price if we sleep on the decision. Any talk about them telling you that you won't call back if they leave just means that they care more about what's best for them than what's best for you. I almost felt bad for the salespeople because they were really nice guys and you could tell that the whole high pressure sales thing was a job requirement. Poor guys. Anyway, on to the actual install. The reason we stuck with them in the end was that we HAD to get this window replaced, and we'd already been stood up by two other contractors. The products that Power offers look really good and well designed (I have an engineering background, so I know what questions to ask) and we had already gotten some estimates on the job, and Power was right in there with them for what looked like a superior product. As far as the install went, it was the complete opposite of the sales experience. This was one of the best experiences we'd had with a contractor. Very thorough and skilled. They actually did a lot of additional work that was needed to do the install properly (and make it last) at no additional cost to us. I was really impressed with the work. Two managers visited during the install to check on the work, explain the warranties to me, and to make sure I was happy. They even brought donuts! Since the install, our home office has been much warmer (February install), and we've had some torrential rain storms and not a drop of leakage. The window looks great and I think it'll add value to our home. In the end, I have to say I'm baffled. When you have a great product and do exceptional work, you shouldn't have to pressure people into doing business with you. Your work should speak for itself, and glowing recommendations will keep the work flowing in. Would I use Power again? Yes, because the work is excellent and I feel like I've been through the "hazing". But would I recommend them? Most likely not. My mother needs windows, but she's 80 years old, and there's NO WAY I'd subject her to the stress of Power's sales pitch. Just no way. I know this review is a little harsh in places, but looking back on other reviews, it's clear that this is standard operating procedure for Power. When one or two people complain, it's one thing, but when many people complain over a long period of time, it's another. As much as I dislike focusing on the bad points, I feel obligated to provide a review that I think is fair, and I think this one is.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience. In relation to your mention of the pricing structure in your review, the reason we're able to offer such a steep discount on the first visit is simply a matter of efficiencies. We visit hundreds of customers everyday. By offering our customers a steep discount for an agreement that evening, we effectively eliminate costs from the potential project. It is simply more cost-effective for us to come to an agreement on the price of project if our customers are ready to move forward. And if we can come to an agreement, we push those cost savings right on to the customer for their trust in our products and team. At the same time, we realize asking customers to make a commitment on a large project in one evening is not something everyone can do. Therefore, we believe we offer other cost-effective options that allow you to consider Power while you schedule additional estimates or hold onto the quote until you are ready down the line. We are extremely confident in our products, warranties and level of service and while we are transparent that we are not the cheapest game in town, we feel our customers will ultimately choose quality over the lowest bid. Clearly we want all of our customers to enjoy their experience and If you'd like to discuss yours further to better understand our processes and procedures, please feel free to contact me directly using the information below Yours in Service, Ray Lodato Director of Digital Communications Power Home Remodeling Group 610.874.5000 x2260

They came in and said it was going to be $10,000 right now, at 7.5 percent interest. If I didn't do that right then it was going to be $12,000 at some ridiculous rate of interest. They just came to the to make an appointment, we made the appointment and a lady showed up. I explained that I wasn't going to do it that way. I wanted other bids. What I could see from the demonstration, and the brochure, the product is high quality. We've had them for about a month, and they are guaranteed for life. I can transfer the warranty one time. They were expensive, I paid $1000 per window. Their sales strategy, I shouldn't have let him in the house, and I should have known better. They disconnected on the financial level. It was a threatening price. They were here for three hours. I dealt them back in 2003. I would use them, but I would get other bids before I would listen to them. The advise that I would give someone else is, get bids from other companies and will hold their bids for a certain number of days. Then have them come in and give their spill. If they make you make a decision right then, flash out the other bids.

The sales process was excellent. Carlos fully explained how the installation would be performed. He provided a demonstration on the efficiency of the windows and patio door. Patrick measured each window several times to ensure the correct size. The installers contacted us ahead of time on the installation date and responded within the scheduled time. The installation went flawless. The window and patio door look amazing. Thanks a million!! I look forward to the energy savings.

We signed a contract with Power's for 3 new windows. Today the project manager came on site to review the scope of work and to set up the installation date and time. While he was on site he convinced my husband that the signed and executed estimate was incorrect due to a mistake by their estimator and that the cost needed to be increased by $1K. He then told my husband that he could reduce the cost to $500. Unfortunately, my husband agreed before speaking to me. As a construction project manager, I never would have agreed. They were successful in their scam to increase their overall project cost with us this time. However, they have lost our business for good. Do no allow yourself to be scammed by their estimators and project teams. Buyer beware.

Response from Power Home Remodeling
Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback on your experience. While we understand your frustration given what occurred on your project - and we certainly apologize for the inconvenience - we wanted to take a few moments to clear up some of the details in your review, as it doesn't accurately communicate what occurred from our perspective. When you originally met with our Remodeling Consultant to discuss your project, our Consultant mistook two of your windows that were mulled together as a space that we could fill with one replacement window. He was incorrect in his assessment - the space did, in fact, require two windows - and this was discovered during the Pre-Install Inspection. We have reviewed the matter with the Remodeling Consultant you met with so that this mistake is not repeated again. Without installing this additional window, we would not have been able to do the project up to our standards. Given that the mistake was on our part, we worked out an agreement with you to install the additional window at a considerable discount. We regret the mistake, but worked with you in good faith to address it and reach a fair conclusion. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please feel free to contact me directly. They made sure the materials were delivered before the beginning date. They were on time every day. They were hard working and professional. Each employee was friendly and helpful. They missed one day of work due to predicted high, gusty winds. I respect their safety concerns for their employees. Our house looks so much better now that they are done. We have also contracted to replace fascia, soffits and several windows.

Excellent experience all around. From the initial sales visit through the completion of the installation, everything was smooth and professional. Windows are of the highest quality, with an unsurpassed energy efficiency rating (better than Pella and other top brands). Install crew was outstanding -- the detail work around the metal frame and caulking was absolutely perfect. I strongly recommend Power HRG if you are seeking high quality replacement windows.

I put in phone call (maybe an on-line request - can't remember) for an appointment to get an estimate for replacing my roof. The next day they called and we set up an appointment for 10 o'clock this morning, just two days later. So far so good. This morning shortly after 10 a.m. Anthony called from the confirmations department to say their representative would be here, asked if my wife would be home and said it might take longer "depending on your questions." I said I would allow 90 minutes for an inspection and presentation, because I would not have many questions. Anthony asked to postpone the appointment. I said no, if they wanted the job, it would be 90 minutes, maybe 10 minutes more. Anthony hung up. I called back and reached Anthony. I told him if he didn't want to see a complaint on Angies list, he would not cancel the appointment. He said, "I already did," and refused to discuss reinstating the appointment. He said "it might take longer depending on your questions," and time needed to demonstrate their products. No appointment with this company.
Description of Work: They canceled the appointment when I said I would allow no more than 90 minutes.

The entire experience was pleasant. We actually heard about Power Homes Remodeling Group while on a shopping trip to BJs. While there a nice gentleman approached us asking if we could change anything about our home what would it be we answered windows. He talked to us a bit about the services provided by the company and told us about the free estimate they give, so we scheduled the consult. The consultant Eric came out in the allotted time scheduled. He was very pleasant even allowed our dog to stay out of the crate, our dog is a jumper, even giving her a treat at the end of the estimate. I will admit that the estimate took quite some time approximately took 3 hours. Eric went over everything about the company and how everything would work if we went with them to complete the project. We agreed to the price and went through there company for financing the project. Prior to Eric leaving we were able to schedule a project manager to come out and measure the windows and door. The meeting we had original scheduled between 8 and 9. I waited till 915am upon which Adam picked up and I explained to him my situation and how I was not happy that no one had called me about what was going on. He said that someone would get to me on what had happened. After an hour and a half Columbus called me back to tell me that the gentleman that was suppose to have met me as in an accident. So we rescheduled the meeting for the following week. And after that little hiccup the rest of the project went smoothly. The gentleman that came out to measure our windows was great took off his shoes so he didn't track mud through the house. We weren't able to schedule an install date at the time for I had not heard back from our home owners association. The gentleman left me with a contact number to Trey who is there "home owners association" guy. He was very pleasant and helpful. After we got approval we scheduled the install date for 2/11/16. I got a call from our project manager of the day Chris telling me the crew had left with the windows and would be getting to my house my 930am. The three crew members showed up about 915am with smiles on their faces even though it was single digits degree outside. They came in and started with laying down tarps throughout the house and measured the windows again to make sure all the windows were made correctly. After that the process was great they worked through the day starting on the top floor and as one was finishing up a window the other two would start on the next. By the end of the day they had worked from 945am till 730/8pm. It had been a long day and even after all was said and done they still had smiles on their faces upon leaving. Prior to leaving they showed me how to use the windows and new glass door. They completely cleaned up their mess and it didn't even look like I had had a crew working in there all day. I would recommend this company to friends and family. Also the house has never been more comfortable.

Salesman was very good at selling the product and it is a good product put in very professionally. We had two doors installed and the crew was great. They showed up first thing in the morning and worked hard through the day. We would use them again! One note, when one member came a few weeks before the installation to take measurements they informed my wife that they would not reinstall our screen door. My wife didn't feel comfortable with this and we need to renegotiate the contract prior to our final purchase. The original paperwork did not have any wording that a screen door would violate the warenty and that they would not reinstall the door. We would use them again!

From beginning to end the process was quick and painless. The sales reps were professional and low pressure, the installation team was prompt and moved like lighting. They were not the cheapest option, but they were not the most expensive either. Defiantly worth the price.

Everything went on schedule just like the sales representative guaranteed. Financing went quickly and the overall process was seamless. POWER provided more than enough staff to professionally complete the job on time. This was a very good experience and left no doubt who I would recommend when it comes to roof replacement. The price is more than we planned to originally replace our roof but with the quality of product,, we are very happy. It was also eye opening to have POWER take time to explain about the products/process used in replacing roofs. I can honestly say beware replacing your roof, because you get exactly what you pay.
