+ 2 moreWe bought our house earlier in 2020 and our basement suffered severe flooding issues over the course of the summer (especially during flash floods). We had to replace our window wells, grade around the house, hardscape a pathway, and completely gut and reconstruct our basement walkout. Steve and crew were knowledgeable, responsive, and friendly and accommodating. Since the work, I'm happy to share that we've had no flooding issues and the hardscaping looks great!!!

+ -1 moreSteve and his crew did a marvelous job in addressing some challenging water issues with an exterior basement wall. To complete the job, they had to dig down 12 feet, work around water lines, address cracks and trowel apply damp proofing material as well as a redundant rubberized waterproofing membrane. Once the job was completed, everything was put back together promptly and properly. I am very pleased with the work and have no reservations in recommending Pipe & Stone for tackling exterior waterproofing problems.

Description of Work: Major water problem in basement of recently purchased home in DC. Fix: Step 1) excavate around exterior of foundation, seal foundation, grade soil around foundation to direct water away from house. Steve noted that there was a low spot in my backyard where water collected, and suggested that may need to be addressed to solve the problem...but also did NOT ever do any hard sell (He's CANADIAN, super laid back), just suggested step one; checked back later to see if problem solved. It was better, but still some water with heavy rain. Step 2) built a retaining wall, brought in soil, raised grade and leveled low spot in my yard.

+ 0 moreI had a "difficult to diagnose" basement water problem, off and on for years, and Steve Cullen, the owner of Pipe & Stone, made (and implemented) some great suggestions regarding drainage away from the house, replacement of window wells and the installation of an egress so that we could convert the basement into an extra bedroom. With all the rain we had this summer, I am happy to report absolutely no water in the basement and I now have confidence to actually use the space for its intended purpose. Competitive price and great customer service!

Description of Work: I had water leaks in my basement due to cracks in the concrete wall. They dug around the foundation dpwn to the footers, sealed the cracks, and then applied a waterproof sealant and rubber mat to the entire wall. | |No leaks since then. Very professional job.

+ 1 moreI was able to pick out beautiful stone and the workmanship was outstanding. It was significantly less than another estimate I had. I could not have been more satisfied. It was the best experience I've had with any remodeling work. I have no reservations in recommending Pipe and Stone. The area was cleaned up perfectly and even new sod put down where the ground was dug up for the french drain. Worked completed on time and with no problems encountered. The owner called back a year later to make sure it was holding up fine. Still looks beautiful.
Description of Work: I've forgotten the exact year but I had a 20x12 (approx) stone patio put in with steps down and a walkway to a gate. The ground required leveling and installation of a french drain put in for my sump pump and gutter to drain down to the bottom of a hill. About a year later I decided to add a an apron of the same stone around the outer lower edge so I believe the total cost of the two jobs was about $5K, possibly slightly more.

+ 1 moreDespite digging up the wrong side of the yard at first, he and his crew did an excellent job. Because of the gaff at the beginning, Steve did some very kind favors gratis to make yard and entrance more attractive--mason work and whatnot. In addition to the excellent job they ended up doing, Steve has a great sense of humor. I would recommend.
Description of Work: Repaired crack in foundation; tarred foundation walls and installed new waterproofing and piping system to wick water away from house.
