They listened to the way I wanted the landscaping to look with the lights. They weren’t pushing a lot of lights, they were very subtle and they did a good job. The lights are working fine.

They were wonderful. I?m in real estate and I recommend them to everybody and there has been nobody that has ever been unhappy with them. They come when they?re called; they?re available, and that?s all I require. They do a good job. Their price is fair.

They did a good job. Their service was rolled into the landscaping design company that we used. They did good work but they needed to be supervised. They were really nice. They had to come back because there was a problem but they did come back and fix it. It took them twice to figure out what it was. Something kept shorting out. He kept trying to fix it and on the third try, he finally figured it out.
Description of Work: They worked over the course of 6 months for an outdoor landscaping project. It was lighting and they had to put in a conduit from the house to the area we needed the lighting. They worked with stone and low voltage lighting as well as the regular 110.

It worked out fine; they were very good. It was a relatively small job. They were very nice, thorough and cleaned up well. They cleaned up so well I have not even painted over it yet. We did price it out and went with somebody who knew our plumber and referred them. We got them by word of mouth and they turned out to be pretty good.
Description of Work: They re-did the lighting and venting system in the lower bathroom. They moved some switches and did some stuff down there.

They were very good. I had used another company before for the same thing and I had to call New Age to come and correct it. They were quick. The guy knew exactly what he was doing and he took no time and I was up and going. I haven't had an issue since. The price was quite good. The last electrician had doubled the price and didn't even do it right. He was early and he was very professional. I even asked them for a recommendation for somebody to install a television for me.
Description of Work: They installed a z switch so I could operate my light switches by my telephone to turn my lights on and off.

I was satisfied with what they did. It was expensive. They were very responsive and they come when we need them. They are not cheap but whatever we get from them is good quality. We did have to have the generator serviced because it wasn't working properly. It was a problem with the installation. We have been happy with it.
Description of Work: They put in a generator and they have also serviced it. A few years further back they did some remodeling for us.

The first time they came out they did stuff that we didn't ask for and we had to pay for it. Then we had to have them come back because they had to fix a lamp-post that was supposed to have been fixed the first time. Then after trying to fix it they tried to charge me for that as well. I would not recommend them based on our experience. We are having to hire someone else to come out and fix the electrical outlet.

Response from New Age Lighting
Dear [member name removed], Thank you for your comments. We appreciate all types of feedback so we can examine and improve our services. We apologize for your concerns and the resulting impression on our company. We reviewed our dispatch notes and job reports to address your comments. The original request was for an exterior post light and receptacle not working. The charges described on the invoice were for troubleshooting the post light, repairing receptacle wiring and replacing 3 defective receptacles that may have been associated with the post light circuit. We were unable to identify any work completed outside of the scope of your request. During the troubleshooting process, our Electrician determined the post light needed to be replaced. We tested power to the post light on the first service call and it worked but a fault was found within the post light fixture. When you scheduled a return service call 5 months later to determine why there was no power to a new post light installed, we discovered there was a loose connection in the foyer switch. The post light replacement was completed by someone other than New Age Electric, Inc. As discussed many months ago, we voided the discounted labor charge for this return repair since we could not determine if this was a problem over-looked by us or an intermittent problem that existed during our first home visit. It is impossible to tell since we did not complete the post light replacement. A problem could have existed in both components. Intermittent wiring problems are part of our business and we strive to be as fair as possible when they happen. We recognize these problems can cause inconvenience and repair delays; however, we try to be practical in our process to not disturb more than necessary that may result in further problems and charges. Again, we appreciate your feedback and hope we have adequately addressed your comments and concerns. Sincerely, New Age Electric

Alan Pumphrey provided a detailed and timely estimate for the work. The New Age Electric team (Fatmir and Eric) were personable, knowledgeable, punctual and reliable. The work was completed on-time (3-week job) and on-budget. Despite being a challenging, and sometimes frustrating job (figuring out 100-year old circuits is no walk in the park!), Fatmir and Eric remained cheerful and always presented a can-do attitude. I have great confidence in the quality of their work.

I was tired of the whining bulbs from my bathroom fixtures, so I pulled the main fixture cover and removed a bulb that was a higher wattage than the fixture was rated for. I later learned from Justin that the high pitched whine was due in part to the dimmer switch option. I cracked the threaded ceramic socket when removing the bulb and that started the ball rolling. Although we are existing, very satisfied customers of New Age Electric, I have never written a review but they went "above and beyond" my expectations on this job. Austin arranged for Keith to come out the next day to evaluate the wiring, power and lighting scheme of the guest bathroom and offer me some viable options. Although the installation work was scheduled for the following week, Austin arranged for Justin Baker to come over after his last job on Friday to assure the work would be completed when I explained that I was expecting guests. Justin put down plastic and was all about being neat, focused, thorough and timely. He surveyed the existing situation, checked the wiring, checked the available room for a new central recessed fixture, replaced the over the sink recessed inserts to properly rated ones, took away the dimmer switches and installed simple rocker switches and neatly cut out and installed a new recessed fixture Justin explained the new technology and benefits of LED bulbs and then brought a variety of them up from his truck. He showed me the differences and it was truly "one stop shopping!" Everyone at New Age Electric who was in on this project getting escalated and addressed quickly is an all-star. They are new technology aware and use their savvy on their website to offer online appointment requests (with a savings) and the encouragement and capability to submit photos as well as offering the customer newer, better and more efficient options. I thank them and recommend them highly.
Description of Work: Got technician's nearby to get my bathroom lighting issues evaluated quickly and offered viable options and service in a very timely manner.

I had two service technicians at 2 different times; both were fine, but I especially liked Justin. He really knew what needed to be done and was not satisfied until things were fixed perfectly. He is very knowledgeable and can figure out what it will take to correct or resolve the issues. He is also very clean and leaves no mess. I would most definitely request Justin again. He is very professional and knowledgeable. I had manufacturing issues that resulted in one chandelier being resent. It is hard for me to judge accurately if the changes were in line with other companies in the area. I thought they might be a little high but New Age did honor my original prices when they returned as they had increased prices at the first of the year and they were here last November for the first work. They also did not charge me for the time to adjust the arms on one of the chandeliers and I thought that was fair.
Description of Work: I had work done 2 times for the total billing. Replaced 2 chandeliers and an out door light fixture, installed 2 timers for out door lighting, installed indoor motion detector with light sensor, replaced 2 dimmer switches, installed photo sensors for outside lights, Installed stronger box to hold new chandeliers. Had to return because one of chandeliers parts had to be replaced which manufacturer sent also adjusted one of chandeliers arms and replaced outside photo sensors which did not work properly and added a timer.

Saturday night (Nov 9) I came home & found my circuit breaker box on fire. I turned all the power off & the fire went out. I called Keith, the New Age electrician who has done work at my home previously, & he agreed to come Sunday morning. How great is that! He determined the problem & said he'd be back in the morning & replace my circuit breaker box. He came when he said he would & did the whole job - 4 1/2 hours! He couldn't have been more professional, prompt, & nice. I felt completely relieved.

We called New Age on a Thursday because a prior electrician (who had done good work for us two years ago) started the job but would not come back to finish it. His (former? never did get this cleared up) employer said they would send somebody out to determine what needed to be done to finish the job but did not return our two phone calls asking "when" (one was on a weekend and the other during business hours - both of which went to voicemail). Thus, New Age was stepping into a mess. They came Friday morning after we called, assessed what work could be saved and what work needed to be corrected, took pictures of everything, and emailed a proposed contract to us over the weekend. We had contemplated upgrading our service for our 1930s house to 200 amps for several years, and had obtained several bids but, since the electrical system had had several add-ons over the years by prior owners as well as by us, we never got around to getting our electrical system "rationalized" until we hired the electrician referenced above (the one who would not come back when he said he would). We were surprised and more than pleased that the New Age proposed cost was lower than two other bids we had obtained in the past. Plus, their offices were relatively close to our location, online information about them was positive, and we liked the promptness of our early contacts with them - no pressure to hire them, just promptness in answering questions and in preparing the proposal. New Age estimated that the work would require a full day to install the new panel and main cable and to move the circuits to the new panel and then another couple of hours to verify which breakers went to which circuit and to ensure that circuits drawing more power (appliances, electronics, etc.) had appropriately rated breakers. Several days of thunderstorms delayed the initially scheduled start date because an early step in upgrading service is replacing the outside main cable. BUT New Age promptly contacted us by telephone and by email to reschedule and to confirm. The two electricians New Age had assigned arrived when they were supposed to and walked us through the job steps. They did some interior work (leveling the new box installed by the prior electrician, installing some needed junction boxes, etc.) and then replaced the outside main cable. They then returned to the inside and moved the various circuits to the new panel. It appeared to us that they had all the parts, equipment, tools, and miscellaneous nuts, bolts, and screws they needed because there were no mysterious trips to hardware stores or "the shop". They told us at the beginning of the project that we probably would be without whole-house power for about the six hours. They were correct. After power was restored, they checked to ensure that all circuits were working and then described what work remained - mostly checking breaker ratings and labeling circuits. They removed all excess equipment and parts and their tools and then cleaned up and vacuumed (with their vacuum) the work area even though they knew they would have to return for a second day to finish up. The two electricians spent several hours on that second day finishing up their contract work and also rewiring one external outlet which had to be moved when the new main cable was installed. They then tested every circuit in the house and recorded which lights, outlets, and appliances were on each circuit - no easy task considering that the house was built in the 1930s and had had extensive additional electrical add-ons done in the early 1960s (kitchen and central AC before we bought it), mid-1980s (basement), 1993 (kitchen), and 2003 (upstairs bathrooms). In sum - with this house, we personally have been through basement, kitchen, and bathroom remodelings. We also have been through construction of a house from scratch and through remodelings at that house. Experience has taught us that, too often, we expect the best but get something less. New Age Electric clearly falls within the "best" part of house repair. We would hire them again without reservation and would, and have, recommended to friends and neighbors that they consider using New Age for electrical work.
Description of Work: Installed new electrical panel; upgraded service to 200 amps; moved external outlet; manually verified each and every breaker listing on panel door; cleaned up entire work area.

Exceedingly well. Frank the estimator was clear in his explanations and dealt with changed promptly. Keith, the lead electrician, was prompt and exceedingly pleasant. He and his crew where neat and cleaned up after themselves. They put a rush on the end of the job so it would be ready for a party that got moved up.
Description of Work: Ran a new circuit in ceiling and installed 4 outside lights cutting through brick walls. Installed 3 other outside lights modifying existing lines and mounted conduit as needed. Ran a new line to outside pergola and installed 4 outlets. Connected all these lights with Radio Relay and programmed controls Installed 4 other outside outlets. Ran new circuit to lamp post and installed light sensor control. Moved and cleaned up phone and cable lines from old locations. Installed timer control and override switch for porch light

I can't really rate them on the price since I didn't shop around at all (cost was covered by driver's insurance). However, the price seemed reasonable. I can say that the personnel at New Age were extremely helpful in coordinating the steps to have county inspection completed and to have the utility company come out and connect the new service cable to the meter. Workers were friendly and knowledgeable. I have no complaints.
Description of Work: New Age Electric replaced the service cable to my house after it was ripped off (car accident snapped the utility pole outside of the house). New Age also handled pretty much everything from scheduling required county inspections, scheduling service with Pepco, etc. This would have been a headache to try to coordinate on my own.

I was extremely disappointed in this company's service, professionalism and responsiveness. They seemed ok when I first spoke to them on the phone, but after 3 rescheduled/cancelled visits for an estimate, I gave up -- particularly since the last time they just didn't show up and didn't even contact me to cancel or reschedule. Didn't want a company like that on such a big job for the house.

Response from New Age Lighting
Dear Member, We sincerely apologize for your experience. We researched your original request associated for a home generator estimate and found your request was received during a torrent in generator requests due to storms and power outages. We have since then declined further generator estimates as the complexity and volume of the requests became overwhelming for our staff. We have also decided to shift away from generator installations to focus on our core electrical and lighting services. Again, we apologize for your experience during this transitional time. Sincerely, New Age Electric, Inc.
