My wife and I moved into our place a little over three years ago and we immediately had a new HVAC unit (outside and in) installed as the old one was on its last legs and we wanted to make sure we weren't sweltering during these brutal summers in the DMV. Long story short, the company that installed our system didn't really know what they were doing by the looks of it because we've had several issues with the outdoor unit since having it installed. Fortunately, we found Mike here on Yelp, and he has been a a godsend on three separate occasions where we were in desperate need of his assistance. The first time Mike came out to look at our HVAC, we were having issues with the Freon in the unit. The unit wasn't pumping any cool air into the house, and this was in the middle of the summer so we were eager to get the problem fixed ASAP. Within what seemed like a few minutes, Mike had diagnosed the problem, let us know how he was going to fix it, and gave us a VERY fair price for the work. The next time was this past winter, and we were having issues again with the air not getting pushed into the upper floors of the house. Once again, Mike came to our place on short notice, diagnosed, and fixed the problem, all for under $90! Just for a little context, we once called the guy who originally installed the unit because we were having issues and it cost $150 just to get him in the door. Most recently, Mike came by on short notice, leveled our outdoor unit, recharged the Freon, and replaced a blown capacitor in just over an hour for an incredible. As you can probably tell by now, our family have gotten to know Mike really well over the past couple of years. He is always willing to go the extra mile and does so for very reasonable prices. Moving forward Mike is the only person we will be calling for anything related to heating or cooling.

Mike was knowledgeable, professional and very fair. He explained what he was going to do prior to doing it, cleaned up after himself and was pleasant to work with. Mike is the first heating and cooling professional that I felt I could trust. We would definitely hire him again.

Mike came out to diagnose and repair an HVAC leak on my home system. He was up front about pricing and the possible processes that may be necessary to find and fix the leak. The leak search found a leaky evaporator coil, which he replaced without any issue. He spent ample time double checking to make sure there were no other leaks in the lines or condenser. He pressure tested and vacuumed the lines to make sure there were no further leak issues after the work was done. Mike was straight-forward and worth the price. He was a pleasant change from the big chain guys who had been servicing my HVAC and could never seem to figure out what was wrong in the first place.

As part time landlord having a trusted vendor to address my HVAC issues for my properties is critical. I have been using Mike’s Heating and Cooling for numbers of years now after having a terrible experience with some of the bigger companies. Mike is a master craftsmen when it comes to HVAC systems and has a wealth of knowledge. He takes his time to troubleshoot the issue and explain what the problems are with different options. He has replaced HVAC motors, water heaters, heating boilers, installed new AC units and many more HVAC related issues for me and every time I have been happy with service and pricing is fair. Recently one of my HVAC units in PG County was broken and my tenant called complaining, I called Mike the same day and he sent his technician Ray the next day to fix the issue. All of my tenants have never complained about his services and I have referred him to other friends and family. Mike is a life saver and I couldn’t say anything negative about his business or character.

Quick response, quick duagnosis and quick fix. I have used Mike for many years. He not only wants to fix what is not working, he truly cares about his customers. He knows that he can make people’s lives easier. Always cleans up and covers his shoes so he does not track stuff in.

our furnace was not staying on and they were able to come very quickly and replaced a part that they had in the van, which successfully got it running again. we called first thing in the morning and the repair was done that morning.

Mike and his team will provide responsive and professional service at a fair price. Had a dying HVAC unit. Mike kept it running for over a week while we did the research to purchase a replacement. Beyond doing quality work, he knew we had children in the house and did everything they could to ensure continuity of heat in a cold spell. Replacement was done in a single day (heating and A/C units) at a very fair price. If you want to avoid a big shop that will overcharge and still know that you are getting quality insured work, Mike is a great choice.
