This was ok. It probably wasn’t the quality of Mulch I’m used to. They came out quickly, spread it and left. They were OK, not exceptional.

They were cut down well. There was some miscommunication. One of my ideals is that getting someone too far away you can't follow up on whether they are interested in doing the work. I had to call them a few times.

They arrived early and did a great job.

This company is GREAT!!! The office staff with whom I interacted to schedule the appointment were friendly, yet professional, and were incredibly patient with my numerous requests to reschedule the date for the service. The crew that came to do the work were on time; were very, very polite; and were totally accommodating to my particular requests. They were extremely careful and thorough when getting all the leaves off my yard and out from under the many, many shrubs in the beds surrounding my house and yard. My yard and beds were leaf-free when they were done -- they even made sure to get the leaves off the tops of shrubs and from inside the branches of the shrubs so the beds would remain clear of leaves after wind comes later on in the season. Something that especially impressed me was the fact that the crew made sure that none of the leaves that were swept to the curb (to await the county's truck to come to vacuum the leaves) fell onto the curb or street. Most companies just don't seem to be able to get that right. I've used this company previously for spreading mulch and leave removal, and I will continue to use them again. It's not often that I find a company that does everything right -- so I'm sticking with this one! You will be glad if you decide to use this company.

Great experience. Thorough and fast. Paid attention to details.

So first off, the actual work done was good. They did a great job and everything looked wonderful afterwards. A foreman was supposed to come at 1pm to talk to me about what needed to be done (both for the time purchased via the Deal and additional work past that). Instead, I got an email at 7:50am saying that they would be there at 8am to do the work. I previously sent a short list of things to do as a starting point for a conversation, and instead they used it as the list of things to do. Fortunately it turned out okay (although they did cut down a lilac bush, but in their defense it was covered in weeds and vines so it was understandable). The crew that came at 8am didn't speak English, and trying to coordinate with the central office (for the additional work past the Deal) was slow and annoying. Overall if they did as they originally scheduled (talk with foreman at 1pm) OR gave me more notice than knocking on my door at 8am, this would have been a purely glowing review.

They did a fantastic job. Showed up on time, their back office team is very responsive by phone and email. Completely professional. Great price. I hadn't calculated the square footage correctly so there was some confusion and I needed to buy more sod in the same day but they handled it perfectly and were very fair to me and got the whole thing done in one day. I was concerned that a contractor would be lazy about regrading and removing the rocks and debris but they were not - they spent a lot of time getting the ground perfectly graded in advance of putting down the sod. They didn't leave any dirt or mess - no trace. They also followed-up with detailed emails and links on exactly how to care for my lawn moving forward - much appreciated. Very impressed. I've used a lot of contractors in the last 2 years and only a few of them were very good - these guys are great. I highly recommend them.

We could not be happier with our finished product!! We've lived in our home for over 5 years and have a VERY large yard that we have never been able to keep up with; now it's beautiful, simple and, most importantly, manageable for us to keep gorgeous! Lilian and Adriano are just REALLY great people that are dedicated to giving you a great product at an exceptionally fair price! To be honest, we were leery when we received their quote because they were significantly less expensive than the others, but when we asked them how they could do this, Lilian said "my guys are good and fast" and she was right, they completed our entire job in just 4 days!!! Lilian emailed me nearly every day prior and during the job, sending me pictures and ideas for me to choose from and ensuring that we were on track. She actually listened to our wish list and came up with beautiful designs that keep within out budget, she was always responsive and returned calls and came out to the job site daily. There were one or two times the work wasn't exactly what we wanted and one phone call to Lily and it was corrected next day, no questions asked. The MA Landscaping crew was timely, courteous, professional, clean, and FAST!! On the first day I came home to a yard I didn't even recognize (in the best possible way)! The team did things we didn't even ask them to do, like spray washing the deck, the siding and the drive way so everything looked beautiful when they left. I can't say enough good things about MA Landscaping! If you want a great product at a great price, give Lily a call, you won't be disappointed!

The workers did what they were told to do they were great. The company was very responsive. The quality of the mulch was poor quality, as weeds began to grow within one week. We'll need to have more mulch laid, because it needs at least 3 inches. The work was ok, they cleaned up after they were done. It only took them an hour to spread all the mulch. They provided costs for doing more work, but their fees were higher then other quotes and they are based in MD so don't want to pay for their travel when i can get someone closer.

Services exceeded expectations.

Used an Angie's List Deal for 4 hours of landscape work. I was contacted quickly and the service scheduled within a week. Owner came by to check out my wants and needs. Workers arrived 5 minutes before the scheduled time, were very responsive to my questions and completed a thorough clean up, including bagging the debris, in 4 hours. Money well spent and I recommend MA Landscaping.

This was my first purchase of a Big Deal. I admit I was very anxious about it. I have had a hard time finding a landscaping company who is willing to do small jobs with thought and care. Alex and his co-worker (sorry I didn't get his name) were on time and did a very good job. They repeatedly asked me if they were doing what I wanted. They were courteous and didn't rush through the job. I'll probably use them again in the spring. I think it is important for yard workers to learn to recognize and respect plants and proper pruning techniques for each. I don't think that is asking too much. It would make for more repeat customers. My only problem was not knowing I had to supply my own recycle bags. Otherwise I would have been charged $5.00/bag. That sounded ridiculous.

The scheduler, Claudia, was very customer friendly. She was very responsive, polite and prompt in her communications. She was able to change an initially scheduled time to two days earlier which enabled us to have some plants planted that were sitting unpotted in our driveway. The 4-person work crew was polite and responsive as well. They came later than expected due to a prior customer wanting more things done and traffic, but Claudia kept me informed. One of them, William, was knowledgeable about plants, which was helpful in determining where to plant a new plant. They completed more than I expected and it looks very nice.

It went well. We got a discount on lawn mulch. It was one of those deals, install mulch for x dollars. It worked OK. We called the guy and he was prompt. We didn't call until the next day. We called them, they came out, they delivered it and everything was done nicely. I gave their number to other people. I used them once. I new I couldn't beat it anywhere else. It was driven by price. They laid the mulch and put it in the spot that we wanted it. They did it promptly and I have no complaints about the job. I would use them again. The package was for three or six cubic yards, I asked them if I could double it for the double of the price and they said no. It was only for the one load. That's what they had advertised and I could live with that. What would have been nice is if they could have doubled it for a little less. Their price was good and I told my neighbors that it was a good deal.

On time, efficient, and friendly.

Needed landscape work done on my house before putting on the market. Contacted MA landscape and design on Wed. 8/19/15, spoke with Adriano, very professional and friendly. He came to the house on Thurs. 8/20 and gave an estimate. The work was performed on Fri. 8/21 in the AM. Two workers showed up on time and completed the job in a timely manner. They did a great job! Very impressed with the overall experience and short notice response they were able to provide. Highly recommend this company for all your landscapping needs.

Some context for the work... Our house was a "flip" that was completed in June 2013 and we purchased in July 2013. That winter we had water in the basement from the foundation walls leaking and the sump pump catch areas not covering the entire perimeter of the basement. The company who flipped the house extended the sump pump area and split the cost with us, despite the 1-year warranty in DC which states they should have covered it all. 6 months later, still within the 1 year warranty time frame, the water was coming in through a different area that they did not cover. This time, the company had a drainage company do an assessment and, again, split the cost of the repairs. Here we are a year later and again water came in the basement after it rained for a week. I had the same company who came out last year come back and provide another estimate...$17,000, $12,500 of which was excavation! No, thank you! This is where MA Landscaping and Design comes in... We saw a crew completing some work down the street and got their business card to call for an evaluation and estimate. There was a minor issue that the scheduled time of the estimate where the original scheduled evaluator would not be able to make it out to our house, instead of cancelling and rescheduling, the owner, Lili, came out and did the estimate for us that day. Lili sent us the estimate for raising the patio and installing a drain underneath, putting jack stones along our driveway, putting a french drain system along the side of our house and some other minor edging and lawn maintenance. She told us that if we accepted the estimate that day she could have a crew out to the house the next day. We were satisfied with the estimate for $3,150 and immediately accepted. The crew was back the next day and had completed the majority of the digging and preparing the area for the french drain, raising the patio and adding the jack stones. The following day it rained so the crew could not complete the project, but they were at our house the following morning and finished all the work by 4 pm. When we spoke to Lili after the work was completed, she told us that there was a hole in the foundation underneath the work that the other company had previously completed that was basically feeding water to our basement. She said that the crew got some additional concrete and filled the hole and ensure there was not an opening for water to go into the basement. The crew was very thorough and completed everything exactly as stated in the estimate, plus some. The crew, mowed our lawn in both the back where the work was being completed and in the front. The patio and drainage system is done perfectly and I almost want another torrential down pour just to validate the work they did. I have a lot of confidence in MA Landscape and Design and will definitely be using them for any future landscape needs!

Lili came out to check out what we needed done and also provided a comprehensive list of products we can apply ourselves for a healthier lawn. The two workers who came were very thorough and did a great job cleaning up leaves among the bushes, applying mulch and hauling everything away.Will probably use them again in the future!

Everything was fine. When they came in the first time, the owner showed up and he actually charged $450 on top of what I paid for the deal for some extra work. That was actually unexpected. It was pretty good.

It was okay. They did the mulch and there was no way to tell how much mulch I got. They filled up the wheelbarrow so I couldn't tell if that was correct or not. It's impossible to determine that. Everything else was okay. I don't need any more mulch.

They came on time, spread it according to my instructions, and did a great job. So a straightforward purchase that worked as it was supposed to and I'm pleased with the outcome.

We like that we haven't to mow our lawn a whole lot. It is great just for that. I found that the guy's that come out do stuff that I wasn't expecting them to do. They haven't been able to tell my good plants versus what shouldn't be there and I kind of asked for them not to worry about that. My communication with the woman who runs it and the guys that come out to do the work stuff gets lost in translation. So, it's been very good up front with the something needed extra cost, they were good about explaining why that was and they are reasonable. They are nice to deal with. They show up when they are supposed to. I would use them if it only for lawn mowing.

They did an excellent Job... 3 guys less than 3 hours for front and back yards

We were still satisfied with the overall work and cost. Some of the confusion that occurred may have been unavoidable and the service provider was responsive. However, unless you know exactly how much mulch you need and/or can be present for when it is spread, it is more time and cost effective to avoid a Deal and obtain a firm price for the entire job upfront. Whereas the initial purchase worked out to $37/cubic yard, the purchase needed to complete the work was $80/cubic yard, somewhat negating the value of the Deal.

Great communication when setting up the date for the mulch to be spread. Staff who spread mulch were very cooperative and careful. The job wasn't easy because I have many, many smallish plants in the beds where the mulch was spread -- the guys were careful about covering all the dirt and not hurting the plants.
