Golly. I'd give JL Flooring LLC a B+ overall but the rating scale doesn't offer an "in-between" rating as an option.That said, here's my review. Mr. Linares and his 2-gentlemen crew were exceptionally nice, definitely hard-working, and certainly--so far as I can tell-- knowledgeable in their craft. They were also surprisingly fast. Prior to working with me, Mr. Linares had come to my home in a hi-rise condo building for the estimate. I showed him a carpet sample of a commercial broadloom with an 18X24 inch pattern repeat--the kind and quality of carpet seen in 5-star hotels--that requires a glue-down installation. I had chosen this and ordered it direct from Dalton, GA where the carpet mills are (I ordered from Caldwell's Carpets--terrific prices and terrific people to deal with). I am a power wheelchair user and this seemed to me the solution for previous problems with short-lived carpeting and padding that couldn't stand up to wheelchair traffic. Mr. Linares agreed to accept shipment to his warehouse (I certainly had no way to unload it, much less bring it up 3 floors on the building elevator were it shipped direct to me). He also measured and told me how much to order--65 linear feet for a 12-foot wide roll. When the carpet then came in to his warehouse, he and his crew did all the handling, delivery, and installation. They moved some heavy pieces of furniture to do it, put everything back in place when they were finished, swept and vacuumed up after themselves, and carted away all the debris from what they took up of my previous carpet (the old one). They also did a near-perfect pattern match, which is definitely tricky. The end result: Overall, I am very pleased. I would certainly recommend J L Flooring LLC very highly to others. The B+ rating has to do with language barriers. I don't speak Spanish and had difficulty communicating questions and receiving answers during the actual installation. Earlier, at the time of the estimate, Mr. Linares had come with his daughter, Anna, who translated. And in intervening phone calls, while awaiting shipment, it was Anna with whom I spoke. I would have liked to have asked the installers to leave behind some remnant scraps of the new stuff they laid but I could not make myself understood on that or other matters--like finding out the product name of the glue. But hey. That's more about me than them, I guess. They were certainly more gracious and service-oriented than any of the other installers whom I earlier met with for excessive estimates.

I'm so sorry I could not go with this company. The only reason I didn't is that I needed carpeting done asap to put my place on the market and found another company that can get it done in a couple of days. Ana and her father were wonderful, though. They would have been able to install in about a week, which isn't bad at all. They came out to measure my home only a few hours after I called them, and I think it was after their normal business hours. Even though they live in my neighborhood, that was still very prompt service. They were also nice enough to take off their shoes when I asked and were extremely professional. They also quoted me what I think was a very fair price and had several colors to choose from in the grade of carpet I was looking at. They didn't try to pressure me to buy anything more expensive than I wanted. I would definitely recommend them or use them, even though I didn't have the chance to work with them this time. Very fair price for 3 bd condo, LR and DR.

Very professional, proced very reasonably. They needed to come back because the carpet was not flush with the walls, they cut extra carpet the first time. They responded quickly and restretched again, tacking sequrely. GREAT SERVICE!!

We called and they came ON TIME a day later and gave an estimate.They scheduled us for the installation within 4 days.They installed the carpet quickly and it looks great!

It was a great experience. The job was very clean and very professional. I was surprised with the installers and his people they were really nice and polite. They arrived on time both days. each day they were here at least 8hrs. I was impressed by the reviews small company here on Angie's List. they gave me a 10% discount and overall it was a great price compared to all the other companies I reviewed.

Overall the result is excellent.

Guys like this are the reason I joined Angie's List! I got myself in a jam--I had purchased a beautiful wool carpet remnant from the Stark warehouse sale in VA, and paid about $900 for it. When I called their "in-house" installation partner, I was quoted $900 to install it (the bedroom is 18' x 13.5') with padding. PLUS $275 for them to remove and take away the old carpet. So I looked on Angie's List. All the places I called only installed what they sold. The handymen I called were scared about the seam that would run along the wall (the remnant was 13' wide). When I got to J and L, the young woman (Ana) said they would do just an installation, and she would send someone that afternoon to give and estimate. Jose (her father) came promptly at 4, a Friday, and quoted $660 for the installation, good padding, moving the furniture in and out AND (the kicker for me), it was no problem to him to go and pick up the 2 remnants at the warehouse in Virginia. On Monday. To install Tuesday. The second 12' x 12' remnant I wanted bound along the edges for an area rug. I think Jose's quote was $150 for that. I jumped at the chance to get 2 other bedrooms carpeted, too, and Jose came back the next day to drop off samples and give estimates for the 2 new rooms. I called Sunday to confirm the choices. Monday, the Stark warehouse called early to tell me Jose was there asking for my remnants, but I had to first pay them a $75 handling fee (can you believe it). Tuesday, Jose and a helper showed up at 8:30 and got to work. They moved furniture out of and back into 3 bedrooms, removed the old carpet and hauled it away, and installed 3 rooms carpet and new padding wall-to-wall. And they were done by 3:00. The odd seam on the remnant is invisible. The installation is perfect. He even had done a 24 hr turnaround on the 12 x 12 remnant and brought that to me finished. There was an odd piece of the wool carpet left over, and I realized it would be perfect in the office. It needed to be patched/seamed and bound on the edges to make a true 6 x 6 square. No problem. Another $100. I love this guy.

I called their company on a Friday and they came by the same day to give an estimate and were able to do the job the next day. Jose told me about the items on my furniture that needed to be removed so they could move the furniture when they did the carpet stretching. I had all the furniture pieces cleared off before they arrived. They arrived at 8:30am and were finished by 11:30am. The master bedroom and closet areas were approximately 675 square feet and had numerous places of carpet bumps with many pieces of heavy furniture that had to be moved. They did an excellent job of carefully moving the large pieces of furniture; stretching and cutting the carpet and then moving the furniture back into place. Jose and Omar then continued with the connecting stairs where each step of carpet was pulled up, cut and stretched back into place. In addition, the carpet in the basement rec room (approximately 250 square feet) had a large bump in the middle that was stretched flat after moving some pieces of furniture. They removed all the extra pieces of cut carpet and vacuumed all areas. The rooms and steps look great now and they did a wonderful job.

It was a flawless job and it felt like I had a new carpet! I would definitively recommend their services. They were timely, professional, well-priced and did quality work.

The job was done by the owner of the company. He was very polite, responsable, and professional. He had a very neat appearance. When it was time to do the job he was were punctual. He was very careful when doing his job. He was very attentive to my concerns. He met far and beyond my expectations. He is an excelent worker.

Two gentlemen came around 8 O'Clock. They started in the bedrooms upstairs, they moved the furniture to one side of the room and then did the other side. As they one was working on the main floor the other was working on the steps, they also did the inside of the closets. around 5ish they were done with the carpet one of the guys left and the other one stayed working on the bathrooms and kitchen. they installed carpet in the living house, and vinyl in the kitchen and bathrooms. every thing was left spot less, they took all the trash and vacuumed. i was very thankful, my house looks brand new.

They came early, performed the job very professionally, and after finishing, they left the apartment just impeccable. The overall performace: Outstanding!
