Description of Work: JD Grewell came to house I had a contract to purchase on and with his associate, Sean Troxell, performed a very detailed inspection. The two filled out a complex 9 page form during the inspection. Concurrently, the younger man, Sean, took photographs of problem areas. The report, consisting of 25+ pages with color photographs was very detailed. JD is truly working for the buyer and will reveal all manor of problems ranging from the small and harmless to the huge and expensive. He is not the most communicative as he prefers to concentrate on the task at hand. He is available for questions by phone in the days and evenings following his inspection. Hourly rates are in addition to his basic services, as JD's website makes clear.

+ -1 morePerfectly on-time, accessible (people answer the phone at his office or return calls promptly) and incredibly experienced. He was respectful of my ignorance about buildings, forthright, open to answering questions, and rigorous about his work. He even gave me a materials list and information to convey to vendors that would be doing my repairs. Three days later, I had to call and ask for a back-up recommendation, as one of the providers he'd mentioned wasn't available, and he called me right back with a list of other service providers for my needs. Best money I could have spent.
Description of Work: J.D. himself came out and did a diagnostic inspection on my house, including moving around on an 8 ft. high roof. He verified and identified the source of several important problems, explained who and what I would need to repair them, and passed on the names and telephone numbers of companies he respects. I've been trying to figure out the source of a leak in my house for 2 years, and J.D. finally solved that mystery.
