Handyman and home improvement services. We are small company performing most of the work in-house and sub-contracting licensed professional when needed. I take pride in my work and try to create lasting relationships with my customers. Uses licensed subs for plumbing and electrical.
This was a horrible, horrible experience. This company does not care about the quality of their service or the experience their customers have. The story begins where I pre-purchased a packaged service the end of last year in 2011 for 4 hours of handyman work at a specific price and then $50 an hour after the 4 hours were completed. It took the service company weeks to contact me and schedule an appointment after my initial purchase. I then sent the company, per their request, a list of items I wanted to have done throughout my home. The company stated they would be able to get some of the items done within the 4 hours I had already prepaid for and whatever was not finished I would be charged $50 an hour after. The company never notified me specifically when they would arrive. So, one morning at 7:30 I woke up to my door bell ringing. There stood 2 men eagerly wanting to rush in my home and get their work done quickly because they had back to back appointments that day. They then notified me that the 4 hours I prepaid for was for each worker, not for an actual 4 hours. Since their was 2 men, my time was then cut in half to 2 hours. The handymen never brought the list of items I wanted to have done which I provided the company beforehand. The men wanted me to quickly spout off, while I was still rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, what needed to be done. They accomplished absolutely nothing in the short 2 hours they were there and the 1 thing on my long to do list, which was to sand my front rails by my front door, they started and ended up leaving half way through and never finished the work. I now I have to do the rest myself because the rails were not properly sanded to begin with by these men and can not be repainted until properly done. They never offered to stay longer and have not contacted me to request to finish their work, what kind of company is this? This company was trying to squeeze in as many appointments as they could regardless if it was inconvenient or if it pushed their customers months down the line. I can not believe I actually paid this company money to push me around, do 2 hours of slow, sloppy work and then leave me hanging with the work less than half way done. I would advice that no one use this company, it was an aweful experience. I can not imagine they will be backed by Angie's List much longer if they continue to do work like this and treat their customers the way they treated me. What a waste of time and money. VERY DISAPPOINTED, words can not describe.

I used email to contact Jim Honeywell to arrange the appointment. He was willing to honor my Big Deal even though I was a few weeks past the expiration. I needed several small repairs/installations done around my house and used a Big Deal Coupon for 4 hours of Handyman Service. I was completely satisfied with all the services. The owner, Jim, brought a second team member to assist him. So, it actually was 2 servicemen for 2 hours each. I was prepared to be the "assistant", like holding something steady for drilling, but I perceived it was very professional for Jim to bring a second person. I prepared a list before they came, and as soon as one thing was finished, they moved on to the next. Two drapery rods were installed. One of the them needed the old hardware from a closet opening de-constructed first. Smoke detectors, bath racks and closet hooks were installed. One problem with my outside vinyl siding was fixed. An annoying bedroom door that was sticking was fixed promptly. We had a short time before the end of my contracted amount of time, so they assembled two hanging lamps for me. I didn't want to delay their next scheduled appointment, so we did not install the fixtures. I appreciated their broad knowledge, care in measuring and getting things leveled, and willingness to answer my DIY questions. They were pleasant and explained answers well. I would definitely hire them again, and recommend them fully.

There was a coupon deal that they had. I spent $75 to $100. I chose them because of the coupon offer. I was satisfied with the outcome of the service. They were good and professional. They got the work done and I'm satisfied with it. I would use them again. They were very responsive.

I first contacted this handyman on December 15, 2011. He would respond to my e-mails, but in four months time we were never able to make an appointment. "Sorry I did not get back to you earlier, my schedule has been extremely swamped," was the latest response on March 22, 2011! He then recommended that I have this Big Deal refunded, after all this time. I feel very negative about this experience. I didn't feel like I was being treated like an actual customer. I will never contact him again for handyman services or recommend him to others.
Description of Work: I purchased the Big Deal "$135 for 4 Hours of Handyman Services!" to have some wires clipped, some small painting jobs on baseboard. I needed to have a coat hook hung into a wall, to replace house numbers, to have a loose floor board nailed down, and to work on some doors that were sticking.

I'm sorry that this didn't work out. I tried to extend this coupon to all. We had a set time after the expiration and Customer canceled about 24 hours prior. I was understanding of your cancellation, even if it disrupts my schedule and tried to plan another date. My work load has dramatically changed since I ran this coupon. Although, I try to still accommodate, the refund seemed like the best option with your urgency and my availability.

Jim was not able to accomodate me initially. I had planned to have drywall fixed but ended up getting someone else for that job. However, he honored the 4 hours of handyman service that I had purchased when we were able to schedule a mutually convenient time. I also reimbursed him for supplies. Jim (and his worker) were very professional. Jim made a trip to get the supplies he needed to fix our sticking door. He discovered that it was off-center, reset it, and caulked around the area as needed.
Description of Work: Jim and a helper came. They reset door and applied weatherstripping plus silicone caulk.

Jim was quick to respond via email and was easy to coordinate a date/time even when I needed to juggle the date a few times. Jim and his helper came promptly for the appointment. We reviewed the list of items to be taken care of and they got started quickly. They took care of the roof leak that had developed with the ice issues last year over a kitchen bump out. Then they each went to work on the shower re-caulking. With the remaining time, they worked on a few odds and ends that had been on my list for a long, long time. They were both professional, worked quickly, and did excellent work. I am very happy with the service provided.

We had purchased the Angie's list deal for 4 hours of handyman services. Schedule was a bit of an issue, both because we had waited probably too long after purchasing the 4 hours and Jim Honeywell's schedule. On the day that finally worked out, one of Mr. Honeywell's staff, Jose performed the handyman services. Jose came right on time, and I thought worked very quickly to get so much of our long list accomplished within the 4 hours.

efficient, knowledgable. I wish we had made a longer "honey-do" list. The 2 person team knocked out our list with time to spare. I would recommend them.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced aluminum wrapped facia on front porch. Instead of just pulling off the damaged portion, they removed the entire length approx 50' and reattached it. Nicely done. It was blown off in a wind storm. Replaced other outside trims for same reason. Reinstalled 2 pieces of siding and repaired insulation under it. The siding was blown off and birds had damaged the insulation by peking at it attempting to nest. Most of the work was ladder work.

I contracted with Honeywell Contracting through an Angie's List Big Deal. I am very glad I I purchased the deal. Jim and Jose arrived at the arranged time, were very courteous and professional. I had two projects that needed to get done - a vanity which needed to be replaced and drywall repair. They each took a job, Jim the vanity and Jose the drywall. They were finished in a little more than the two hours they had allotted for the work. They cleaned up the work areas and took the trash to the backyard for me. After they had left, I was cleaning up the dust inside the new vanity and had water running in it. I noticed a small leak on the plumbing connections. I phoned Jim for advice on how to stop it. I was unable. He returned and stopped the leak.I would highly recommend them for all of those annoying jobs around the house you don't want to do, and even the ones you do. I now know why they have received high ratings on this site.

Jim and José came in and finished my list quickly and efficiently. They did a nice job, left everything clean and were very professional. I started discussing some of my other projects with Jim and will definitely call him back for estimates. It is not easy to find someone that you feel comfortable bringing into your home to work, but I felt very good about Jim and José and have no hesitation in recommending their work, based on what they did in my home.
Description of Work: My house is 20 years old, and frankly we've done very little to it over that time. So the time has come to do some real work. I decided to use the opportunity of the Big Deal (4 hours of work for $135) to get to know a business, and determine if I could use them for future jobs. I purposely wrote a long list of tasks including several drywall fixes, several minor electrical fixes (changing out plugs and switches) and a few other things, that I didn't expect to be comepleted in the allotted time, but I was wrong.

Purchased a Big Deal: four hours of handyman work. Called in early November to discover the soonest date work could be performed was January 3, the explanation being that he was inundated with jobs from the Big Deal offering Expected him at 9am. At 10am, called to inquire and was informed that the time was actually set between 9 and 11. My mistake, I assume. Arrived at 11 with a helper. Two guys worked for 2.5 hours, which is an extra man-hour, so I was charged for one hour of overtime. Workers were pleasant, efficient, competent and neat. With one exception, I am pleased with all work done. They worked in a timely fashion and cleaned up after themselves. I received extra charges for materials they supplied from the truck for caulk and new ceiling light box. My only complaint is with the work done for the ceiling light fixture. Taking out the old fixture required tearing away some of the ceiling wallboard and the replacement fixture I supplied didn't cover the resulting hole in the ceiling. Surprisingly, I was asked whether I wanted them to hide the hole. I replied yes, of course, and was disappointed to find the fix was adequate but sloppy. Additionally, the new ceiling light was installed backward and when asked to reverse it, did an incomplete fix. This was the only work that was not done well or up to their other professional standards. All-in-all, I found their work to be satisfactory and would use this company again. If it weren't for the ceiling light problem, I would give an A. However, I must assign a rating of B.

Description of Work: This was one of Angie's Big Deals and due to its popularity I had to wait some time for my appointment, but it was well worth the wait. Honeywell Contractors arrived before the appointment time and completed ALL the tasks that I requested including re-anchoring a listing kitchen sink faucet, securing a wobbly stair rail, installing a new lock and deadbolt, and repairing some drywall damage. Thay were prompt, courteous, thorough with their work and cleaned up any messes. Now my home is safer and more secure than when I puchased it. Thank you Honeywell Contractors!!

Communication with Jim prior to the appointment was easy and efficient. Jim was responsive and provided details so we could coordinate materials and logistics prior to the appointment. Jim and Jose arrived prompty on time. They worked efficiently and effectively, performing outstanding work on all of my requests. I had no concern with Jim and Jose working throughout my home without my supervision. The drywall repair that Jose did was amazing. Jim installed security bars on a window and installed a flag pole holder and mailbox on the front of the house. The installations are very secure, placed appropriately and look good. Jim's price was very reasonable. For this service call, I used the Angie's List deal previously offered ($135 for 4 hours of handyman service). With Jim and Jose working concurrently, they aimed to finish within 2 hours. They used an extra half hour to wrap up, but Jim was not going to charge me. I insisted on paying for the extra time, especially since they worked so fast and so well (or he could have just considered it a bonus on top of the tip). I also appreciated Jim's $10 materials fee which I consider to be very reasonable. This saved me from having to go to Home Depot to purchase all the materials myself...materials that would have cost much more than $10. Overall, I am very pleased with Jim and Jose's completed work, customer service and rates. I definitely plan to use them again in the future.
Description of Work: Jim and Jose did an excellent job doing the following: - repaired two large and one small areas of drywall - installed security bars on a basement window (installed into brick/cement foundation) - installed weather stripping around a door - installed a mailbox and flag pole holder in the brick on the front of the house

****NOTICE - COMPANIES SHOULD NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS CUSTOMER!***** My experience with this customer reads a lot like the other company's experience which he left a negative review. I ran a Big Deal which the customer purchase and used. The customer was pleased with the work and was interested in having additional work done (siding replaced). Having sold a large volume of coupons, I wrote a the customer a proposal specifying a small window of time which I would have available to preform the work. The Customer was indecisive and sat on the proposal, he then wanted to change the materials which would change the whole scope of the project. I let him know that I could no longer do the job on the date listed due to the customers inability to finalize the contract and allow enough time for me to order materials and prepare for the project. This customer is manipulative and abuses the Angie's List review system to leverage himself against defenseless companies trying to build their reputation. Companies who market and conduct themselves in a professional manner need to be protected against reviews such as this and Angie's List needs to address this. Listed below are correspondences that contradict his review. customer: Good meeting you. I think 4 hours will be sufficient for the floor / spigot / frameup for the attic area entry me: Nice meeting you too. Let me know your final decision for the floor. The tiling may require more time. thanks customer: if you tile I can grout customer: the tiling was well done, was surprised it took 5 hours but no worries Of course I"ll reimburse for materials with a receipt. I am still waiting for the payment for materials.....

UNRELIABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! After two weeks of going back and forth about available dates, which included Honeywell rescheduling several agreed upon dates, a date of 12/2 was confirmed on October 6th. Two (2) days before the appointment (November 30th) Honeywell contacted me via EMAIL to cancel the appointment because "something came up." I waited patiently for this company for two (2) months and the company's representative (Jim Honeywell) did not have the decency to call and discuss atlernate appointment dates nor did he provide a response to my email request offering alternate dates. Not initiating a courtesy phone call was a very cowardly and unprofessional approach. I guess I should be thankful that I found out before the appointment that I could expect poor customer service from Honeywell. Companies like Honeywell are incompetent when it comes to time management and therefore don't mind wasting your time. Please note I made several calls to this company prior to the scheduling debacle and received no return phone call until I announced the Angie's list promotion. 3/5/2012 - Unfortunately, the level of customer service that Honeywell claims was not offered. 4 alternate dates were not offered within 2 weeks. As I stated before, Honeywell was not even courteous enough to call and discuss alternate dates and chose to respond via email. It seems appropriate that when a company cancels there should have been some level to the customer's schedule at that point. Honeywell was very inconsiderate and I very patiently waited for 2 months. Btw, I gave you a full day to respond and called you, but of course you did not answer the phone as usual. 5/28/2013 - Just looking over my reviews and found it humorous that Honeywell took the time to respond to my review, but couldn't pick up the phone to call and reschedule appt. or complete his appointment. AN APOLOGY GOES A LOT FURTHER THAN EXCUSES WHEN IT COMES TO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I have had a tremendous amount of responses with my last coupon deal which has required many customers to patiently wait for service within the 5 month expiration. I'm am still servicing many of them now, after the expiration. Yes, I did happen to cancel 2 days before our appointment because "something came up." I did however notify you as soon as possible and gave you 4 alternate dates, one which was a Saturday and all within 2 weeks of the canceled appointment. I am a very small company as stated, and I also try to be on time, accurate and accommodating to the customers the best I can. The customer responded later that evening with 3 dates which were convenient for him. Before I had time to respond, the customer sent a follow-up email early the next morning threatening to leave a negative review if I did not reply within a 3 hour dead-line. I chose not to respond and refunded the money.

I got a coupon from Angie’s list with four hours work for $135. He came with another guy at eight in the morning. He could not do the outside of the window because it was raining. He was on time and did everything I asked him to. The price was definitely good. I will call them again if there is any other work.
Description of Work: I used Honeywell Contracting LLC in November to cock the inside of the windows, fix a shower, and repair a chair. One leg of the chair had a problem and he fixed it.
