Description of Work: I had two tasks to be done in my home to be done: (1) repair the ceiling in my family where a plumber had to cut holes to access a leaking pipe, and (2) shorten a countertop that was overhanging the cabinets below it to make room for a new refrigerator. Jim Honeywell and a colleague came on time and started to work immediately. The helper started on the ceiling. After assessing the cabinet top task, Jim decided it would be easier and quicker (and overall better) to take the top back to his shop, which was not too far from my house, and cut it to size there. I was very pleased with the work and the professionalism. They finished in good time, but without rushing through the job. I will definitely call Jim again when I have handyman work to be done.

Description of Work: Jim honored a long-overdue coupon; he was early, polite, professional and neat, but he split the 1907 chestnut woodwork on both windows, didn't get it back on correctly so the white plaster showed, and didn't point out the problems--I found them when I went over the job with him before he left.

Description of Work: I spoke to them a couple of times early on, but they were busy and I wasn't ready to complete the work. I followed up today and they will not honor the deal anymore.

Description of Work: he was too busy and so refunded my money. he was very polite but it took several back and forth emails for him to decide he was too busy. i would've preferred to know up front he didn't want to travel to Alexandria to do the work instead of going back and forth repeatedly before being told it.

Description of Work: This was an Angie's List 4 hours for the price of 2 deal. Had a few things which needed to be done. electrical outlets not working in the kitchen - he changed the boxes, they still didn't work, he couldn't help. Couldn't help with non-functioning light/ceiling fan combo. Had helper with him who replaced numbers on plaque in hte front of the house - they were crooked and I had to point this out and have him correct this. then he put silver colovered screws in gold colored letters, despite the fact that he had the gold colored screws provided with the letters right there in the box. I had to point this oout and have it corrected. Installation of front porch light was OK. Asked for bannister to be stabilized. He used unattractive giant screws and split the wood on the banister in the process. I asked him for an estimate to replace some wood on the front of my house. He said he would e-mail it to me. It's been months and I have still not received an e-mail.

Description of Work: I had a big deal coupon for 4 hours of work for $135. I had wanted them to paint the walls of a small bedroom (just one coat over the same original color) and then fix a door that was dragging and scratching up my wood floors. Jim and another gentleman arrived at about 7:50am for an 8am appointment. Very punctual. They were very professional and got to work right away. When they were done in a little over an hour and a half (so 3+ hours with if you count both gentlemen) , the room looked great and my door was fixed. I almost wished I had thought of a couple of other small things for them to take care of! But still, overall a great deal. I already am thinking of hiring Jim to do some work for me in the spring - powerwashing the front of my house and repainting some exterior window trim.

Description of Work: Honeywell Contractors I needed to have a sink removed and a new vanity installed. Jim needed to remove the existing mirror and replace with new one. He had to make good the wall from the removal of the old sink. Our communication was great. He showed up on time. I went three hours over my coupon time. He was professional. The job looks great and the area was spotless when he left. I found some other things that needed doing and have asked him to come back and do these things.
