When I made the appointment for the day and time I was told that I would have to pay an additional $75 for the stump grinder. I agreed to that. I was also told that the stump grinding person would also cut up the tree in the back yard. So on the day of the appointment, they came 15 minutes late. I know this because I kept going outside to see if they had arrived beginning at 8:30 am. They parked the truck with the stump grinder on the parking lot of the church next to my home. There were four men who each was to work for an hour, thus the four man hours of labor. The foreman and I had a discussion about the number of man hours I had paid for. He called the office to verify the time. By the time that was finished it was about 9:05am. I told the foreman that my time should go until 10:05am because they were starting late. His argument was that the time began as soon as they parked on my property. I reminded him that their wood chipper was on my property but the stump grinder was not. He then asked me to show him what was to be done and I did. When I finished showing him the worker operating the stump grinder began working. The other three men began bringing debris (mostly dead limbs and grass) from the fence line and putting it in the wood chipper. After about 20 minutes the tree stump was removed. They put the wood from the stump into the chipper. I showed the tree stump gringer workman the tree in the backyard that needed to be cut up and removed. He cut the tree in large pieces. The foreman and the other 3 workers put (what was to be) a last load of wood from the fence line into the chipper and left uncerimoniously at 9:50am. They did not say that they were leaving, they just left. I looked up and they were pulling away. I called the office and told them what happened and the woman I talked to told me to put it in writing. I was leaving town so that I did not put it inot writing until a few weeks later, by e-mail. To date, I have not heard from anyone from Hometown.. I believe I am entitled to another 15 minutes of work. The only reason I did not give the an overall F grade is because the tree stump was removed and the fence line was worked on. Did I get my money's worth ? No. I would not recommend them.

I contacted Hometown in late February to clean up the grounds of my house that was going up for sale in mid-April. I dealt with the owner John Polizos and walked through the details of what I needed done. I *stressed* that the work needed to be done in mid-April, but I was contacting them early to get on their schedule before the busy season. We agreed on the work and I continued to say the work should be done in 6 weeks. I signed the contract on March 5, 2013. Imagine my shock when I received a call two weeks later asking for access to the yard because they were there to do the work. I asked them not to do anything, come back in mid-April, but much to my surprise they got into the yard and did the work. Once I saw that, I called and said they were 3 weeks before the house would go up for sale and that early the yard would not look fresh. Hometown *assured* me this wouldn't be a problem, they would come back and refresh the mulch and any new weed growth. I trusted them to do what they said. Starting the 3rd week in April, I sent them a half-dozen emails and called asking for their return. They either didn't respond or said they'd get back to me. I finally got Jacque Elliott to commit to coming back to refresh the yard on May 7th, but they never returned. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I was not pleased with the yard cleanup because they left low-growing weeds, telling me it was 'ground-cover.' They did not adhere to my requested timeframe which resulted in what had been weedy, 'ground-cover' turning into an undergrowth of Polk weed, poison ivy, and other weeds. The only things they did well were tree removal and installation of the railroad ties, By the time the for-sale sign went up in mid-April, the mulch was overgrown and it looked like no yard work had been done. Despite my repeated requests and their promises to come back to address these issues, this was an expensive lesson-learned. All I can say is, buyer beware.

Our yard and flower beds were very overgrown and by the time the crew was finished, it looked a thousand times better. Everything was very tidily done and cleaned up--there wasn't a leaf in my yard. The crew was very professional, efficient and quiet. There were some very minor things that I wanted changed/fixed after they left, and Hometown came the next morning and addressed every one of them. I think the price was quite reasonable, based on other estimates. I would recommend this company.

We had Hometown clear deadwood from a large maple in our front yard, clear 5+ years of brush and growth from back yard, and trim over grown bushes in front yard. We changed our minds several times during the course of the project - at first we were just going to use the Angie's list coupon to trim the overgrown bushes on the side of the house and clean up the bushes at the front of the house. Due to some changes in finances, we were able to expand the work twice, and both times hometown was prompt in expanding the quote and getting us scheduled. Had we gone with just our original amount of work, I don't think we would have been pleased for the price, but after increasing the size of the project we felt the value was good and the end result was amazing! Our yard went from overgrown brush to a very livable outdoor space.

The contractor did a good job on the two trees that were contracted for.

They were excellent. I really liked their flexibility. I like their understanding of what I wanted.

I had gotten two estimates and this was literally half of the other. Everything went excellent and I could not have been happier. Everything was A+ in every aspect of the job.

It turned out great. There were some things that I would have liked may be differently, but I wasn't there at the time to mentioned to him. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Crew worked very hard and professionally and no detail was too small for them to attend to. Results were first-rate and prompted several highly positive comments from the neighbors. We (wife and I) were thrilled with the results.

We are thoroughly pleased with the work that Hometown did for our yard. Our yard is no longer the eye-sore it once was. It took a while before the work could be completed due to constant inclement weather. Once the weather cleared up, they came right in with 3-4 men and completed the work within 3 hours. I thought it would have taken an entire day to do the work. The yard looks healthy and great and we are satisfied with the results.

Took a while to get an estimate and job order together...then took a while to get the work done. BUT...they did abide by my deadlines and the job was done well and efficiently. Lots of little extras made me even happier ! My yard looked great just in time for my party.

Everything went exactly as planned. Hometown was very responsive and completed all work in a timely fashion. We had 10 trees and shrubs pruned in the yard. Their work was very professional and the all looks great. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Our experience with this provider was absolutely excellent! Plenty of workers arrived to perform the tasks and were organized and hard working. The owner was with them and communicated with us to make sure that he was completely sure on what we wanted and how we wanted it. As he stated, "It is easier to cut a second time than try to put cut limbs back on!" The team was responsive and very willing and able to accomplish the task. He directed the workers the entire time and was sure that they understood what we wanted as well. The job was done and done exactly as we wanted it. The workers cleaned up after themselves and were very pleasant and knowledgeable regarding landscaping with a good eye towards placement of plants and how to please the client. We were absolutely delighted and would definitely use them again and we would recommend them to anyone who has landscaping/gardening/tree pruning needs. This company is absolutely fabulous. We would highly recommend them! We had decided that we didn't like the busy-ness of our front garden and they helped us achieve the less is more idea we had.

I was told I would be contacted with an estimate, I do not recall if I ever was. Unfortunately, for them I selected another landscaping company

Talked a good game when we first met. Seemed to have comprehensive services. Overall - would never use them again or recommend them.

I am very satisfied with the work. Hometown did the job as a subcontractor to ATD Landscaping. I needed the job done very quickly and ATD, with my permission, subbed to Hometown who could do the job within my timeframe. John, the owner, came to the house twice in advance, once with Tina of ATD and again to meet with me. The job was done by 4 employees who were very impressive. They worked constantly, did an excellent job, and were very easy and pleasant to deal with. My 2 main concerns were taking the old boardwalk out from under my air conditioning unit and making sure all drainage was done correctly. Both matters were done very well.

Good, quick, inexpensive tree work. Couldn't have had a better experience with them, even though it was a small project.

Purchased a big deal for this work so not sure how their prices compare. Company came out for initial estimate. I like the fellow who did the estimate, he was very professional and thorough. No selling involved. Estimate came via email in a timely manner. I was very concerned about the work being done as I had a bad experience in the past with another company and actually lost some trees, so I wasn't sure how this would work out. Homestead got me on the schedule within a few weeks following the estimate. They came out as promised and the good news is that they only trimmed exactly what I had discussed with them and the trees look good! They also mowed my lawn which was a last minute request from me--- very nice job! The stumps were completely removed and the company cleaned up all the debris and took it away.

Hometown is simply the best! Extremely professional and honest. They came and completed a vast amount of work on day one which inlcuded removing the remnants of two large trees that came down during a storm. Removed some smaller dead trees and all underbrush that had amassed for over 25 years and repaired a damaged split rail fence including new posts and rails (all in the back yard). Day two included the front and sides. Trimmed busheds, planted a large bush, mulched and edged. Completely transformed the yard. I would recommend them to anyone. I gave them an overall A, my only dissapointment was the communication. It was difficult getting a date out of them and they came and completed the job on a day I was not expecting them. But that is a small price to pay for the job they did.....they went "above and beyond'! Thank you Hometown!!!

They always do a great job. They have been doing work at my house for years and I will always use them. They are dependable and reliable. They never leave a mess and they are very professional.
