Service was outstanding (professional, prompt, friendly, and easy to work with). They arrived early and communicated well.

DO NOT USE THEM IN VA OR MD! I didn't have help to manage 3 guys. The one guy seemed determined to run the price up: he unfolded a folded bookshelf to make it take more room, they packed 3 items in a huge wardrobe box, they charged for more boxes than I actually had. (As it was a work day, friends couldn't stand at the truck and count boxes. DISHONEST. I had the feeling the MD owner/boss told the guy to run the estimate up. The Colorado guy looked at my photos, we counted boxes and measured items and he gave me a fair price. The Maryland office ran up the price! The charged me $1000 over than estimate and I had fewer items than listed on the estimate. They did not remove items that were on the estimate and still charged me for them, but told me they didn't. For example, I decided not to move a headboard/footboard. They never packed it, never saw, it, never touched it. After the move, they emailed me a photo asking me if the small headboard and footboard were mine? Some poor person was missing a twin size bed frame and they had no idea who it belonged to. I ended up with someone else's ironing board. They pulled up to an apartment complex in an extended semi, then refused to pull in because they were afraid the semi couldn't navigate the unusually wide driveways. Per contract they could charge more $$ for anything over 20 steps from the truck. Hum...is that why they didn't coordinate appropriate delivery for the location? The Maryland office is not at all motivated to help. They figure all native-born Americans are rich and can afford to pay more. I wasn't making a living and that's why I left the D.C. area. They say they specialize in D.C./Colorado moves and then when it didn't go well they said they don't normally moved people from Virginia. I was 1.5 miles from the Pentagon, a mile from a Marine base and 2 miles from a joint forces base. I'm sorry, you don't normally move people from there? Military move every 2-3 years, do you just turn that business away? Yeah, right! I'm still recovering from them scamming me by more than $1000 and that was with me having fewer items than on the estimate!

The Empire Moving team arrived on time and was ready to go on the day of my move. The team was respectful and listened to all of my requests. The team took every precaution to protect my furniture by wrapping all pieces with blankets. The team worked carefully and diligently while moving all of my property. The team was able to move very heavy pieces with no issues. I was very impressed with Empire Moving and I would highly recommend them for any move and will use them again in the future.
