Everything went GREAT! The guys were punctual, polite, courteous and informative, and the floors look fantastic! My wife and I are totally satisfied.

They did a great job along the board.

Although they did adequate acceptable work during the initial install some work was missed and needed to be redone. In addition to that their response from the company management or owners was pretty slow. They needed to come back and make some corrections. They seemed to be understanding of what needed to be done. They understood what the issues were and came out and looked at it and disappeared for two months. I had to keep on calling them. I would maybe use them again.

This review is being written years after the work was done, but I feel that doing it now is justified on the basis of a durability evaluation. The installation work was done well, given that integrating (toothing-in, as it's called) of new floor planks to older ones (that probably dated from the 1930s) could be a bit tricky. Our issue is about the coating treatment. We were encouraged to approve the newer type of aqueous coating rather than a traditional volatile-solvent coating. The benefit of having much less odor, and being able to reoccupy the space sooner, sounded very good. In a "Q&A" document they provided, the issue of durability of this product was treated and it clearly states: “Nearly all of the recent advent water-based finishes are harder and more durable than oil-based. The best water-bornes, e.g., StreetShoe, far surpass oil-based products in terms of hardness and durability.” Within about 2-3 years after the work, we noticed the coating was disappearing from certain areas. Those areas are in the kitchen, but we know they are not subjected to either abnormal physical wear or to significant spilling of water. We had Steve come and look at it. He did not have an explanation, but suggested the company would consider redoing the area at a reduced cost, estimate to be provided. That wasn't followed up on, and we decided to let it go at the time. Now it is at least 2 years later, and the problem has significantly expanded in area. Meanwhile, in the other half of the house that still has a much, MUCH older finish (likely going back many decades), the finish is holding up just fine and has never shown any of this type of problem. So we are quite dissatisfied with our particular result, regarding this newer, supposedly better type of coating. It is not clear what the solution could be. A re-do limited to the problem area? A complete re-do? We are hoping to get that answer.

Well. Clean and successful! It is an expensive service and it was perfectly concluded as in the past,. The service provider does a moderately good job but the marble is now older or it just does not result in an amazing look anymore. I can't tell because I have only used this company for this job. The workers were very nice and professional.

Being right after Christmas, there wasn't a lot of time to relocate a lot of furnishings, so the guys had to deal with some clutter - it was A LOT of work! And for 4 solid days, our house and domestic lives were upside down. But we managed, and all parties involved survived (I think). The only significant challenge I experienced, from my perspective, was communication: it wasn't always timely (sometimes lacking) and some assumptions were made. Not a complaint, but definitely an area that could be improved.

I was very pleased. The floor looks perfect. You can't even tell there were holes in it before.

When they didn't show up on the scheduled day I called and spoke with owner Steve. He told me his team was finishing another job and couldn't come but "maybe tomorrow". I reminded him that we were having an open house in 3 days and he said he would try to find another team. He never called me back! I called again and he said he would send a team tomorrow. My husband called that evening and Steve acted like he didn't know what he was talking about - they showed up the next day, did the job, but I have yet to receive an apology ..nothing...unbelievable!

First rate company! We are pleased.

Elegant Floors was professional from beginning to end. I had multiple estimates and theirs was the most complete and transparent. Steve spent the time to make sure I understood the process and the choices available to me but I was not pressured in any direction. It's clear they care about customers making the best choices for their home. The crew also stained samples for us to help us feel more confident in our decisions. The work was done quickly and efficiently and we couldn't be happier. I would use Elegant again and I highly recommend them to friends and family.

A contractor I had hired did not show up. After waiting 4 or 5 days, I called Elegant Floor Services and spoke with Evan White. He answered all my questions and gave me a price for the job. They came the next day - even arriving early - checked out the job site and immediately started to work. The two gentlemen who did the job were very professional and polite and did a beautiful job on the bedroom floor. They were able to match the color perfectly to the floor I had refinished a few years ago. Considering that I called this company at the last minute, needing the job done quickly, and that they responded by competing the job the next day and doing it beautifully, I can only give the highest of recommendations. I will definitely be using Elegant Floor Services in the future.

Elegant Floor Services did a fine job of sanding and refinishing the yellow pine floors on the third floor of our 1917 rowhouse. They also removed a couple of boards that were split and replaced them with reclaimed flooring that I provided. All in all, an excellent job, I am happy with their work.

Everything went as planned. No problems. Except for one tiny one. I had to wait for two days for the garbage to be picked up after the job was completed, therefore I cannot give an A...

Steve was very quick to respond to my inquiry of his services and his professionalism was top notch. Due to the inability to also provide carpeting services, we decided to go with another company.

The estimate was good, it was a little higher. Their person was confident. If I had questions he answered them. They couldn't give me a firm price because when I asked about things like the transition between the laminate and the hardwood they would say it would require additional effort, but couldn't answer me directly. He wasn't an artisan, he was a typical salesperson. He was professional. I called him, he called me back. He arrived on time and gave me an interview in a timely fashion.

It went fine. There were some issues, but they addressed them. They were punctual and professional. They do some unique things that you can't get at other places. They just addressed some issues with wood floors and stone floors and things that I didn't find at other places.

They really didn't work for me. I'd give them a B only because they didn't do the work. They offered me a discount. Their responsiveness was very good. They were responsive.

I did not like them. The color that I requested is not what I got, and my floors have light spots. They won't resolve the issue, saying they need to pay 60% of what I paid originally. He said the floors were good to him, but he's not the customer. I would never refer them to anyone.

I was pleased with the original work done when they replaced our hard wood floors. After about two years, however, we developed cracks in the stairs they had refinished. I asked owner Steve White to come out and look at the cracks and see what could be done about repairing them. He said it was not worth his time to do such a small job. When I persisted, he agreed to do it. Then he never returned, and did not respond to my repeated phone calls. Just recently, about one year later, I tried calling, using the phone number on Steve White's card and a recording said his phone had been disconnected. The representative on their web site said someone would call me from the company, but no one has called me yet.

They started in May didn't finish until October. There were multiple failures to show or even call to let me know they weren't coming. They put a hole in a closet door while they were replacing the flooring and claimed it was there before they started working. They ultimately repaired the hole but did a poor joband I ended up having to have a different company fix the repair. They harassed me about paying before the project was complete and then didn't finish until months after I paid them. They gave me incorrect information about what supplies to have for them and then told me I must have misunderstood. They were hard to get in touch with and bad about returning phone calls. The company also uses sub-contractors and doesn't keep up with them.

My husband took the day off to be home for them and they never showed. Ok, there was a misunderstanding. They said they had us on for a different day. So we tried to reschedule. He told us he would call us back to reschedule and we never heard from them. My husband called the owner, who gave us the estimate, and explained the misunderstanding. The owner seemed genuinely upset and genuine and assured my husband that he would get back to him in an hour and figure out what happened and get us on the schedule. We never heard from any one from that company again. We certainly were not planning on following up a third time. I think we were pretty fair and not really sure what the issue was. They must have so much business they need to turn new business away. You know? Had they told us that, we probably would have waited. We aren't really unreasonable but this is the worst experience we have ever had with an Angie's list company. I would never call them again!

The crew was on time, even on a dicey weather day. They were neat, clean and courteous. They handled some special edge finishing concerns to perfection, without a qualm. They applied the final touches right on the time they had advised they would be finished. Our room looks beautiful, and we are following the rules they laid out to assure proper curing and set times for a long lasting finish. We opted to move our own furniture back in, although it was an available service from the crew.
