Description of Work: I contacted elegant floor to resurface terrazzo flooring. The estimator came and measured the entire area and gave me a quote of $900. I accepted the bid. When the team came to do the work, they said the space to be repaired was much larger than the estimators total. they would not perform the work. I then had to call several times before they returned my call. It was clear the estimator had made a mistake - so, we agreed on $12,500. During the next 3 seeks they were scheduled to come several times and just never showed up. Very frustrating as this was part of a larger renovation and other workers schedules had to be adjusted. When they finalely came to do the job, they did not complete alll aspects. They finally (after several more missed appointments) came and finished. Incredibly unprofessional and unresponsive.

Description of Work: Their sales rep. visited my home to discuss their products. The rep. took measurements, explained the different choices they provided and made suggestions for how the product should be cared for. The team came in, asked me to confirm the product, then they began the job. First by playing a cover material over my old floor, then installing the new wood planks over the cover material. The job took 3 - 4 days, and the team was very respectful of my home and the work they were brought in to do.

Description of Work: We had been wanting to replace the parquet floors in the apartment for a long time. In June 2007, we obtained six estimates to replace floors, but did not proceed because we were very concerned as to whether the black glue under the parquet could be taken off to assure that the new floor could be glued without problems. The representatives of five companies said that they could do a good job, but, for one reason or another, were not able to assuage our concerns. One company, Universal floors, said it would not guarantee that the floor would remain glued to the floor and recommended a floating floor. In 2009, after reviewing Angie's List, we called Elegant Floor Services. The sales person was very knowledgeable and responded to our concerns. We had floors replaced with Mirage Engineered floors. The workers, who were diligent, careful and hard-working, took out every single piece of the glue. The flooring was installed carefully and beautifully. The supervisor was very helpful and the owner was very responsive to our comments and concerns.

Description of Work: I did not hire Elegant to perform any work. I called the showroom 3 times to schedule an estimate and each time I was told that the salesman would call me back to schedule. I never heard back from anyone at Elegant. They may do fine work for a reasonable price (that's why I called them to begin with) but in this particular case their customer service was severly lacking.

Description of Work: They installed hardwood floors in one of the units we manage. There were some misunderstandings with the pricing in the beginning, but otherwise good experience.

Description of Work: Results exceeded expectations by a wide margin. The floors are beautiful. Elegant Floors were professional all the way; they really know what they are doing. They did everything they said they would do; did it when they said they would; cleaned up like they said they would; and charged what they said they would. I can't imagine anyone in the Washington area using anyone else to do their floors!

Description of Work: No service performed, they did not show for the appointment. I submitted for an estimate online and my call was returned very quickly. I scheduled for someone to come out when I returned from a vacation. I waited for the individual to arrive and when they didn't I called them to find out that they had the wrong contact info. This was my error not his. I had listed my work information on their website out of habit. That being said, he said he could come out the next day around 11:00 to measure and provide estimate. Well, he didn't show up and this time it was not my fault, I gave him my contact info when we spoke the day before. I didn't bother to contact him this time, I finally just gave up around 3:00 pm and went out. They didn't call to say they would be late. I wasted an entire Sat morning but was able to use the time to contact other flooring companies.
