Work was done quickly and efficiently. Team was in the trees within an hour and stayed after dark moving, cutting trimming, hauling to street to stack. Told me they would be back in the morning to mulch and showed up on time and got rid of everything asap. Good crew trustworthy and suggestive to additional trimming that I needed without re-negotiation.

One of the tree trimmers came to the door and asked if we needed any work done. We had been considering getting some of our trees trimmed and we knew the approximate price we wanted to pay for have two trees trimmed. One tree in particular was troubling as it has a large dead branch leaning over our house. Three different people talked to us and said different things about the work they were going to do. The owner is a very fast talker and did not make a lot of sense in all what he said. In the end, we thought they were going to trim two trees for the amount we agreed to pay but they only trimmed one of the trees and not the one we were concerned about. When we complained to the owner, he said if we paid him more, he could have one of his guys trim the tree we were most concerned about. We did not have them do the work because we felt they did not honor their original agreement. Bottom line, don't hire these guys but if you do, get their work and estimate in writing.

During work Donnie Jenkins said the trunk showed signs of rot extending down almost to the base. He added $700 to his bill for added work. I watched as additional sections fell. No rot on any piece was seen. When I challenged Donnie on this he said rotted wood had just been taken to the truck and told his man to stop cutting (fortunately above the bottom limb). He misrepresented the tree's condition to increase price.

They didn't do a good job. There were still dead limbs at the top. I asked them about the dead limbs and they said that they were just going to come back because it just was dead growth. That was early in the spring and unfortunately they never came back. When I had another guy out here, he said they went up with spikes and you never go up a tree with spikes because you could kill the tree. He doesn't return phone calls. I didn’t shop around for pricing. At the time the quality seemed good, but he hasn’t returned any of my phone calls. He was actually in the area and that was why I used them.
Description of Work: I used Donnie Jenkins Tree Service & Landscaping to clean up a tree and get rid of all the dead limbs.

Our initial experience with the company was good. We had one tree trimmed and they were quick and did a great clean up. The person whom we assumed was the owner due to the business card he handed out, who handled ALL of the business negotiations, offered us a deal to come back to trim a front tree in two weeks time for $200 more. I accepted the offer. When he arrived for the second trimming, the crew got to work and piled all of the branches on our front curb and in the street a little. He claimed that the shredder was in the shop and that he would be by the next day to remove the branches. This seemed believable so we accepted. After waiting three days with dying branches protruding well into the street, we called the company. We were informed that the man who appeared as Donnie was actually an employee and did not inform his boss that he had come by to do more work. Donnie was at the first tree cutting, but remained with his truck. We were promised by the employee, to whom Donnie had passed the phone, that they would be out in 2-3 days to remove the trees. One week later, we were still waiting. We called again and were told that the employee scammed us and was actually a sub contractor he used from time to time. He told us that he was no longer using this contractor. He said he would not come out to remove the debris and that he was not responsible for the actions of this person. He refused to come and pick up the branches because I had negotiated with the contractor and not him (Donnie). In complete frustration of having a eyesore of dying branches in our front yard, we offered to pay to have him come by and remove the branches. We still had to wait another three days and a few more calls to get him out to our property to remove the remains. We were very displeased with how Donnie assumed no responsibility for his sub contractors scam. Donnie allowed this man to negotiate business with us while he drove off to gather more business in the neighborhood and did not act as the head of his company. He said that we should have known that his employee wasn?t acting on behalf of the company when he showed up without the main truck. Obviously Donnie needs to learn that when you own a business, you are responsible for your employees and hired help. He is responsible to his customers and should have made an effort to right the wrong made in his company?s name, HIS name. When considering using this business, please be aware that the work may be good, but his business ethic is far from respectable.
Description of Work: This was a walk-up sale on a Sunday. They offered to trim and feed my tree in the backyard for $600. It was overhanging the house, and had a lot of little branches cluttering the tree. This was a pretty good deal, so I did it. The work was good, and the clean up was 99% efficient. There were a few small twigs left, but that isn't a big deal. A wind would have left the same level of debris.

Description of Work: Skilled team that worked hard. Care of surrounding properity and workman was excellent. Clean up was very good. Removal of all wood and brush. Did not shop for price. Very likely paid top dollar for trim of one tree that placed my home at risk during high winds/ice storms. Strong effort to drive up the price while on site. Recommend price estimate and compairson with their competion prior to doing business with this firm. Overall ...good work, not cheap.
