Description of Work: The cleaning was done very well. When we got to repairs they recommended the estimates that were given were way too costly. Another chimney company came for a second opinion and they told me that some of the repairs that were recommended were not necessary.

Description of Work: Mr. Velasquez informed me that we need new liner. He could not do the service because his company will be liable in case he cleans up the chimney and the liner is broken that in the event we use the fireplace and the house will catch fire, then their company will be liable.

Description of Work: I purchased this $90 chimney cleaning. I called to schedule an appointment and was given on two weeks out on a Saturday from 9-12. No one showed up or called. What a waste of three hours of my life.

Description of Work: I purchased this service for $90.00 on 26 July 2013, and specified in the comments section that it was for a wood burning stove flue. Upon arrival for the appointment, he immediately requested a $30.00 upgrade since it was a woodburning stove. I consider this a bait-and-switch operation and am very upset that Angie's List would allow it to occur. I am further upset that upon signing up for the service, my credit card was immediately charged the $90.00 fee, but that it will take 7-10 days to have that money credited to my account. This may be my first and last transaction with Angie's List

Description of Work: Provider was scheduled to show up between 9 am and noon. When they did not show up by 12:30, I called and was told I was not on the schedule. They were not very apologetic and simply stated that I should seek my prepaid refund back from Angie's List. I asked to speak to the receptionist's supervisor, but I was told he was not available and would call me back. I highly doubt that this will happen. . .

Description of Work: I purchased deal for fireplace/chimney cleaning and inspection. The company did not respond to two phone calls and one email requesting to schedule a date for service. After two weeks I finally reached them today - they now inform me that WILL NOT travel to Reston VA to work at my condo - this WAS NOT in the details of the Angie List deal. I now need to go to the trouble of getting Angie's List to refund my money. SHAME on this company for not being specific with details of their deal and for not responding to repeated contacts.

Description of Work: I ordered the service on 4/27/2013. The company came out on 4/30/2013 and attempted to perform dryer vent cleaning but was unable to do so due to the type of cap over dryer vent. As I thought it was accidentally placed over the vent by recent roofing project, I contacted my management company. However, I have since learned from management company that dryer vent cap was NOT replaced/changed during roofing project. Therefore, I contacted Roger at Capitol Chimney on 5/21/2013 and he indicated that the power vac in use by his company has insufficient suction to clean through that type of cap. He indicated that I should contact Angie's List for a refund as they are unable to perform the work. I appreciated his honesty and professionalism.

Description of Work: They cleaned out my dryer even though they said it didn't have to be. When the original contractor put in the dryer, they put it in where the lint was coming out into the room . It was't sealed properly. They decided to redo what the original contractor did properly. They tested it to make sure it was sealed and didn't charge me. They told me that I shouldn't have my dryer cleaned because of the direct exhaust. Very informative and honest. I would use them again for chimney.

Description of Work: I called and made an appointment for April 10 but we were called that morning b/c an employee was sick. It was rescheduled for April 11 but again, had to be cancelled. We are leaving for a trip and will reengage the company or another provider when we return.
