Description of Work: I was going to buy the Big Deal, but then decided it might be best to call the company first. I called them and found out that I did not need chimney cleaning, just a chimney inspection. They gave me a very fair quote for that work. They will be doing the work later this week. Since no cleaning is necessary, this deal does not apply to my interaction with the vendor.

Description of Work: I do not remember the exact month of service, but it was in the fall of 2013. This was a gift for a friend of mine and he was very happy with the results (cleaning and chimney cap). The price was also very reasonable for the work they had to do. The chimney had not been clean in years.

Description of Work: They cleaned and inspected 2 chimneys, one fireplace & one woodstove. They did find a crack in the back wall of the FP and a rusted vent pipe that will have to be replaced. This was quoted so I know exactly what I will pay. They are scheduled to come back out to do this additional work. The 2 gentlemen that did come were professional, polite, knowledgeable. Showed me pictures of what I could not see and explained exactly what had to be done. They showed up within the time frame given to me & called first to let me know they were on their way. Both men seemed to have equal knowledge of the work they were doing. I would recommend them without a doubt.

Description of Work: They inspected the chimney and cleaned it. Also provided some recommendations and a estimate for other services that needed to be done to the chimney. This service was via an offered coupon.

Description of Work: Estimate was very high as compared to 3 other chimney companies. Did not send over the photos with the report or the complete report until I requested it. Estimate charge was $200 where other companies do this for free or $100 or less.

Description of Work: I was very surprised at this Company - the individual who initially made the visual inspection on 3/7/14 was a very professional type; the company that did the work - not so much. Their appointment to start the work was early as 8 or 8:30; they finally arrived at about 10 or so and the work for the two men "seemed" uncoordinated with a rush to finish by 5pm - a hard rain began soon after and they returned the next morning to find a lost piece of equipment that was left in the grass. |Was the brick repointing done?? I would like a re inspection, if possible.

Description of Work: Did a chimney sweep, installed chimney cap, chimney brick repointing, and replaced some exhaust duct work from furnace to chimney. | |They did a great job: the chimney looks great and their work on the duct was really thorough. | |For the repointing, they ground out all the joints, put in new mortar, and came back a week later to acid wash the bricks. | |For the ducts, the guy indentified a problem, and explained it. I could see why it should be reconfigured. When he did the actual work, he found some more problems with some corroded connector pieces inside the chimney, and he broke those out of the concrete and replaced them too for no extra charge. | |I was really impressed.

Description of Work: We bought a deal for a chimney sweep and a discount off masonry work. They were very professional and prompt. I've seen seen standard prices in the same range though, so I'm not sure we got a "deal" after all. The only issue we had was that they recommended some expensive repair work, and we had a second opinion which did not confirm those recommendations. I would use them for cleaning as the second opinion sweep reported that the chimney was cleaned, but I'm not as sure about repairs.

Description of Work: Cleaned the chimney and placed a steel liner. The work was completed in an hour just as they said it would. They also capped the chimney becaused it was needed and did not charge extra for the work. They were very professional and customer friendly. After the work was done they cleaned up the work area and removed all of the trash and other materials. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Description of Work: They repaired out chimney and installed a cap. The chimney was leaking when it rained. The water was leaking into the house and causing a fire hazard.

Description of Work: Two guys showed up in November and after trying to reach the top of the chimney said they didn't have a tall enough ladder and that I would have to reschedule. In December a single guy came, quickly determined how to get to the chimney top via the roof and completed the service. I had him install a closable chimney/flue cap in addition to the service. I would have rated A if the solo technician had come first.

Description of Work: The "B" ratings above are a guess. It is difficult to tell how good a job chimney sweeps do. | |Note: This company "rates" your chimney. In our case cracks were noted in the fire brick in the upper part of our chimney. In our case we were converting to a direct vent gas fireplace which involved putting metal piping all the way up the chimney so it didn't matter as far as insurance or danger goes. But, be advised that their rating is on record and if deficiencies are noted and you don't get repairs and then have a chimney fire, insurance might not pay.
